For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Tatties - it has come now - thanks.

Franny - I can understand that. I think I might go to London or do something by myself next weekend anyway and then come again for lunch. I am feeling the urge to be by myself for a day.

MrsCarrot · 27/01/2008 15:26

I have had buckwheat pancakes with banana and blueberry and I am spit roasting a chicken right now to have with guacamole, asparagus, rocket and sundried tomatoes.

FrannyandZooey · 27/01/2008 15:27

well I am sure I can't have it all my own way

if other people want to do it next weekend go for it

things like this keep me afloat for a long time, though. I need to have things to look forward to. I have this fab day out with some friends planned in 2 weeks and I am going to be gutted when it is over - I have looked forward to it for about 4 months

I couldn't make it next weekend!

ahundredtimes · 27/01/2008 15:44

TooT - I've just turned my computer on. I'm sorry. Am I too late? Did you all survive? [nervous]

MrsCarrot · 27/01/2008 15:45

I have emerged the wrong side of a carb slump and wolfed down two pieces of toast, a geobar, and the rest of the malted milks in about two minutes flat.

I think I need low GI food - there was quite a lot of maple syrup on the pancakes. How do you all avoid afternoon cake stuffing.

Oooh theres a thought, lets have afternoon tea or something, at the Ritz! I've never been there.

MrsCarrot · 27/01/2008 15:46

Oh, I wasn't really serious about us all being able to go next weekend. It is me. I am feelling whimsical and self indulgent, just in case you hadn't noticed.

I might use my vouchers next weekend instead.

ahundredtimes · 27/01/2008 15:46

Book a table at Fortnum and Masons.

Just how un 10/10 is that?

ahundredtimes · 27/01/2008 15:51

TooT - I'm going to construct the solar system with ds1, whilst dd and ds2 are at a church service with dh - that is one of the oddest sentences I've written in a long time.

I will check in again with you later.

TooTicky · 27/01/2008 15:51

We're fine, thanks
Had fun. Ds1 particularly liked the open, high up bit where he was "on top of the world" and the caves. Ds2 made a kingdom among the rocks. Dd1 had a dramatic injury which disappeared when she got fed up with her makeshift crutches. And dd2 liked spotting the trains.

TooTicky · 27/01/2008 15:53

Just don't have cake in the house, MrsC. You will find yourself happily scoffing nuts and dates. I do anyway.

TooTicky · 27/01/2008 15:53

But then I make more cake.

TooTicky · 27/01/2008 15:56

What beautiful photos Tatties

FrayedKnot · 27/01/2008 16:39

Hello

Not much f&v yet today, just odd bits, but just about to make roasted aubergine & onion pizzas and a big salad for supper.

Took DS swimming today at the gym which I can;t actually use yet because my induction isn;t until next week, but we had a good time.

I have been cooking this afternoon & DS & DH are doing man things in the garage.

Lovely photos Tatties.

I can do the dates mentioned...Sat better for me as have to work on MOndays...not sure if budget stretches to overnight stay - end of March would be better in that respect (laughs at thought that I might somehow have saved up )

fullmoonfiend · 27/01/2008 16:51

Regretfully Cannot do any meetups - way too poor (unless you all head northwards for a weekend of Spa and cream cakes, and even then I couldn't join in but would happily wave to you from the pavement while you ate elegant cakes in the posh cafe...

Tatties · 27/01/2008 17:05

Now there's a thought FMF...

FrannyandZooey · 27/01/2008 17:36
