For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Happy Birthday Tatties.

Didn't Avi pop up and say she'd heard from Possum and she was fine but busy?

Have eaten a bagel for lunch and we are having fish and chips for supper. I had lovely time at the Farmers market this morning, and bought beautiful cauliflowers and red cabbages.

Have swopped ds's with a friend, ds1 and friend are here. They are planning on having a 'Night of Pokemon'.

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2008 18:44

when pokemon first came out I was working as a nanny and it was totally in my interests to get into it or be left out of most of the children's activities and conversations (what an all consuming craze that was)

I got completely hooked and dp and I used to play in the evening and fight bitterly over who would get the shinies [nostalgic]

I don't know if anyone here has played but it is a surprisingly good game

I have had a big salad, avocado, tomato, lettuce, cucumber, kidney beans, carrot, peppers, new potatoes and some herb bread.

I saw a lovely big woodpecker very close up. And ds went to the local country park and planted a plum tree.

Get over here Franny. You can have non-alcoholic cocktails and fish and chips and join in the Pokemon Night.

I don't really understand it. I played that Ugi-oh card game with ds1 once, it was really confusing.

He is mad about it.

TigerFeet · 26/01/2008 19:08

I see your Pokemon and raise you Top Trumps.

banana & blueberry smoothie
watercress & potato soup
2 clementynes
2 apples
stir fry for tea with turkey, cabbage, carrot, beansprouts, mushrooms, peppers and erm, some other stuff

SH & I took dd swimming this morning - only the second time she has been - but after 10 mins she was happily swimming (with arm bands) well out of her depth. Awww, my water baby . Anyway, got some laps in while we were there, so have done some actual exercise today [faints]

Hurrah for miniFranny. Shame your tactics won't work here, after months now of constant reassurance and almost-co-sleeping she still doesn't like being left alone at night

Happy birthday Tatties

OverRated · 26/01/2008 19:36

Top Trumps is a great game!

1/2 banana, corn, beans, broccoli, potato so far

BananaPudding · 26/01/2008 19:38

Just had to pop in to tell Franny that her thread title is very very clever! Love it

ladywombling · 26/01/2008 19:56

Sorry Everyone,

Signed in yesterday and then went off to have dinner, fully intending to re-visit thread, and fell asleep on sofa. V poor I know.

Am about to leave home for good I think, have had one f those days wth the DC's, and have managed to fall out with both DM and DSis, and have had heaps of 'well meaning' advice from DDad.

Big Sigh

TooTicky · 26/01/2008 20:02

Dear Wombling, have a hug, your Ladyship

Have done swimming. Well, standing about in the water.
Tomorrow we are going to the place 100x told me about - I just have to remember what it's called.

ladywombling · 26/01/2008 20:03

Sorry everyone, just read that post back, and it's all me me me.

How are you all?

Happy Birthday Tatties.

Hope you're feeling a bit better FMF, saw the sag bol thread, and just Grr to pretentious cookery for kids.

Anyone managed to track down LL or Gibbon?

TooTicky · 26/01/2008 20:08

100x, was it Brown's Folly?

ahundredtimes · 26/01/2008 20:17

Yes TooT - that's it. It's just a walk in a wood really, with some stoney caves thrown in. I'm worried now you'll think it boring.

DD has been feeling put out as she has no friend/is not on a sleep over/her life is pointless/nobody is interested/nobody listens properly etc etc etc.

I said 'well what would you like to do then?' and she said 'put on make up together' and I said 'erm, okay' and then she said 'and then we'll play a game.'

Oh god. Wish me luck. I have no idea how to do this. I dislike children and make-up. I don't even know how to put on make up. Anywaaay, I'm sure it'll be a great success and I shall be Excellent Mother to a Girl. [unlikely emoticon] Am also somewhat dreading what 'game' she has in mind.

ahundredtimes · 26/01/2008 20:18

Oh but look it's 8.15.

Excellent!

Quick daub with the lip gloss and then off to bed.

TooTicky · 26/01/2008 20:20

It will be splended 100x. Somewhere new to run around is just what we need.
Good luck with the make-up - I had a heave black eyeliner phase, but apart from that I'm clueless. Dd1 has an interest though.

TooTicky · 26/01/2008 20:20

That's heavy, not heave

ZippiBabes · 26/01/2008 20:21

does anyone/everyone realise that i am franny's favourit?

i have had roast family dinner and chocolate cheese cake which for some reason ds told dgs was sticks

so he just asked if he could have more sticks before he went home

he also scared me to death runnijng at the tv with the wii bowling thing in a terrifying fashion

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2008 20:21

oh gosh everyone is having an eventful and mixed time

Banana this title was not me, it was about 6 people working together in a think tank, mostly, erm, was it mostly FK? I can't remember
