For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

too glum to post on here at the mo.

But just to say I emailed LL to see of she was ok and have had no reply yet

OverRated · 25/01/2008 20:06

2 bananas, blueberries, carrots, olives, hummus (does that count? ) so far

Hope you find the farm shop, zippi. There used to be one on my way home from college, if I drove the 'scenic' route - it was lovely to stop and pick up something really good for dinner. The nursery you saw sounds and seems to defeat the point of locally produced food.

I love how people pop on these threads to comment on the titles

Why are you so glum, FMF? Hope you feel brighter soon.

FrannyandZooey · 25/01/2008 20:17

FMF let us know if we can be encouraging or sympathetic

have had large amounts of home made coleslaw, and a mushroom and artichoke pizza. It was so good and so hot.

Forgot to say ds slept this morning until clock said 7 (was 6.35). Have moved it to 6.50 for tomorrow - possible lie in? We have ditched the timer thing for now - if he ends up getting up way too early, or something, we could try it again

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 25/01/2008 20:23

OP posts:
fullmoonfiend · 25/01/2008 20:24

well, she might be away. But she was away at xmas wasn't she...?

OverRated · 25/01/2008 20:25

Great news about your morning Franny

I haven't seen LL or gibbon for ages.

fullmoonfiend · 25/01/2008 20:28

oh Franny, sorry, was being too self-absorbed to notice your post about this morning! Woo-hoo! (fingers crossed for a ''lie-in'' tomorrow.)

FrayedKnot · 25/01/2008 20:29

FMF how can we cheer you?

Yes I hope LL is OK too. It's a long time since she properly posted.

MrsC, tomorrow is a new day

Apart from the day I won the badge, I have eaten terribly this week. I have had had two bowls of fruit today, but my only veg has been a small handful of peas, a celery stick and the kidney beans in tonight's chilli .

I also went to buy a sports bra today and came back with two rubbish ones from M&S. They make what pass for my assets these days look like those squishy beanbags you use for juggling, hanging somehwere just north of my tummy button.

Help! I'm sure I can find better - Pink / Mrs C please advise!

FrayedKnot · 25/01/2008 20:30

Yes, sorry, wahoo for DS this morning F&Z

fullmoonfiend · 25/01/2008 20:30

Oh FK, nothing. I need some sunny days, and a thicker skin is all.

ZippiBabes · 25/01/2008 20:33

jjb are having a sale and have some..dont know what they are like i juastvwear ordinary ones not much hope for me now anyway

but i dont run

have had a banana and another nectarine

i have tostop eating all fruit and no veg or at least swap the proportions round

ladywombling · 25/01/2008 20:34

FMF, What's up? Is there anything we can help with?

I was just thinking that LL hadn't been around lately. I do hope she is ok, but I fear not.

Meet up sans children sounds good, deending on days of the week/dates.

Food front: Yet another 2 cunting mangoes, bah! Pineapple, 2 kiwi's, satsuma, apple juice, green beans, salad, raisins, cherries (dried)

FrayedKnot · 25/01/2008 21:46

Actually I won;t be running, either, due to my foot - mostly cross trainer, rower etc I guess - perhaps I don;t need one. Sports one, I mean, not a bra at all

Hullo wombling are things abit less stressful now? What's happening with DH' job?

TooTicky · 25/01/2008 22:44

Who can do CATs? Can somebody CAT gibbon?

TooTicky · 25/01/2008 23:12

Happy Birthday to TATTIES for tomorrow - it is tomorrow, isn't it? - I wish I was sending you something but I'm not, yet.

TooTicky · 25/01/2008 23:14

MrsC, I vaguely thought prossecco was an Italian sausage of some kind. Pray why are you consuming it by the glassful?

ZippiBabes · 25/01/2008 23:15

proscuitteo or something is ham..the other iw white wine

onebatmother · 25/01/2008 23:23

Evening everyone.

Tomatoes
carrots

big veggie stir fry with about 6 in.
But am still hungry!

LadyWombling that's some name change you got there! Fabulous. I've not been on the Georgette Heyer thread today as have been pretending to do tax and am not feeling clever enough.

TooTicky · 25/01/2008 23:26

Ah, I'm a veggie pretty-much-non-drinker, so I couldn't be expected to know

ZippiBabes · 25/01/2008 23:28

well i cant spell it..

FrannyandZooey · 26/01/2008 08:28

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TATTIES

I am another who did not organise sending you anything

(psst FK we adjusted the clock again and ds stayed in his room reading until 6.50 am (this counts as a lie in, in our house). We could hear him reading to himself about Sweden but it was just very cute so it was a nice way to wake up. He was more lively and wriggly than usual when he came in to our room though; the quality of the cuddles were somewhat diminished I must say)
