For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

No it was a lady whose house was covered in Cocker Spaniel artefacts and paraphanalia and she had 11 dogs, and it was all a bit mad. And when we left she hugged me and kissed me on both cheeks and said 'You are SO RIGHT for him.'

His name was Reg. DS2 christened him Johnny Jet.

I don't think he's interested in my socks tbh. He doesn't know who I am.

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2008 23:14

He is very happy though. Very waggy tail, lots of chatting and pushing of noses and floppy ears.

She told me to make him scrambled eggs when I got home. And I did! I made the dog scrambled eggs.

[stares]

TooTicky · 18/01/2008 23:17

Sorry, I didn't mean to shout at you.

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2008 23:17

right.

Okay.

I'm going to go and talk to Johnny Jet about sleeping, and how I'll come back, and erm, things like that.

Oh god.

TooTicky · 18/01/2008 23:18

My little dog used to eat bits of raw carrot and broccoli stalk - very 10/10. Mind you, she'd been dumped on the streets before I had her.

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2008 23:20

Now that's just typical. Your dog ate broccoli and mine eats scrambled bloody eggs.

DS2 has come down because he can't sleep he is all 'wrapped up in excitement'

Johnny Jet is transported with delight to see him. They are lying on the floor together. I think he misses his pack.

ZippiBabes · 18/01/2008 23:20

i only like dog as a concept im afraid

TooTicky · 18/01/2008 23:21

It will be wonderful.
Ds1 wants a dog - REALLY wants one. I found a drawing in his room entitled My Dream Dog.
But I just don't think we can atm.

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2008 23:22

Hmm Zip. I can see that.

I am going to confront the reality. night all.

[howl]

ZippiBabes · 18/01/2008 23:22

but i do like the name of the project

BBBee · 18/01/2008 23:22

don;t you do something with a hot water bottle and a clock and a towel to calm a puppy? or is that childbirth?

does the puppy have hiccups? can it eat a satsuma in his room? I am confused.

Bed I think.

TooTicky · 18/01/2008 23:22

ZippiBabes · 18/01/2008 23:23

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2008 23:23

Oh actually he is chewing the blanket on his basket, and ds2 has just chewed it and said 'oh it nice to chew' and now they have their heads together.

Oh it is rather nice.

DS1 will expire tomorrow.

Right night all. I should stop this puppy blog.

Thank you for listening.

TooTicky · 18/01/2008 23:23

Whatever a noght is

Oh, hello Bee

ZippiBabes · 18/01/2008 23:23

TooTicky · 18/01/2008 23:24

Oh no, we don't have nits any more. Not since dd1 left school.

ahundredtimes · 18/01/2008 23:32

Oh. Oh. Oh.

DS2 and I rushed off to make a hot water bottle, because Bee is right, and that was what the lady said when she was kissing me and passing me frozen tripe, and when we came back

He is asleep.

In his basket.

With his head hanging out.

Well done Johnny Jet.

I promise not to become a Johnny Jet bore.

TooTicky · 18/01/2008 23:37

Do keep telling us about him. You are fun to listen to.
And I still haven't gone to bed. Am off now.
Jeremy Strong is at local library tomorrow and ds1 will not want to be late.

ZippiBabes · 18/01/2008 23:41

ZippiBabes · 18/01/2008 23:43

a dog so small

OverRated · 19/01/2008 04:00

Oh no, FK I hope the family stuff settles down soon.

lol @ beansprouts with ketchup. Yum

I love the thread title. It was one of my wedding songs (obviously the original version, no veg references in it then)

I agree with the do nothing parenting philosophy although it doesn't seem to work with potty training . Mind you, being persistent doesn't seem to work with that either. He will get it one day, won't he?

How lovely to hear about Johnnyjet. I hope he slept well. Keep us posted, won't you 100x?

I'm watching a very sad programme about anorexia in middle-aged women.

OverRated · 19/01/2008 05:06

So, I need a bit of recipe help:

How do I make shepherds pie with lentils. What kind of lentils do I need? Do I just chuck them in the tomato sauce like a normal shepherds pie?

How do I make butter bean and vegetable soup (or any other beany type soup)

How do I make the topping for vegetable crumble?

I could just make it all up but it is likely to be yuck if I do.

Can you guess what I've been looking at?

BBBee · 19/01/2008 07:42

hi or

I made this once - it is a delia recipe. It is a bit involved and now I make a similar less involved version.

how is johnny jet?

and how are dcs reacting - are they fighting over him? how is dd?

where's boco?

BBBee · 19/01/2008 07:56

i like leeks a lot
