Zoe Nutrition Testing

Wombat27A · 15/06/2022 08:15

Not sure this is the right place for this...

Anyone else doing the Zoe Nutrition Testing?

My results were poor, so now I'm tackling my diet. I thought it was pretty good but it's clear it needs a major overhaul. So much information but finding it good.🙂

Anyone else joining the Big If Zoe study into intermittent fasting? Starts today - week one is normal eating then from week two move to 14:10

I’m going to do this. It says to wait until you’ve finished the first 3 months of Zoe, if you’re doing it, so for me that’s in a few weeks

Jezzballs2000 · 25/10/2022 10:59

Hello all, I have been reading through this thread and think I am going to go for it. I can see I'm one of many mining you for information and it has been so helpful to read your responses. Does anyone have a referral I can use? I was on the waiting list but excited to see there is a quicker way in!

Flockameanie · 25/10/2022 11:57

@Jezzballs2000 i have one code left. Pm me and I can send it to you

MsRinky · 25/10/2022 15:01

I also have referrals available via PM if anyone needs them.

Jezzballs2000 · 25/10/2022 16:13

I ended up messaging @Wombat27A and am now booked in! Thank you though @Flockameanie and @MsRinky.

I'm reading the bumph and went for a walk after lunch. That's all there is right?! Having read a lot of this thread I think I am going to try and really take advantage with lots of favourite foods for the CGM stage so I can use them as references once scored. I have been wanting to do this kind of testing since reading the Clever Guys book years ago. Sounds like the main focus is blood sugar/fat focused rather then micro biome which is a shame. I have read that testing on biome isn't really anywhere useful yet but still it's all very interesting. I think i'll make some kefir as i keep forgetting to eat yoghurt

Wombat27A · 25/10/2022 16:26

@Jezzballs2000 Actually, my report was far more detailed on the microbiome than the other stuff, I thought. It reports all your gut microbes in detail with names and amounts!

Glad to help.

I'm just coming to the end of the monitoring. I only did a couple of the experiments as I had a hard time fitting them in.
They do say that this doesn't matter as the report will have enough to work on.
Was this everyone else's experience?

chutneypig · 26/10/2022 06:04

@GrimDamnFanjo I honestly wish I'd done fewer experiments and tested more of my normal food under my normal patterns. The experiments were certainly interesting but haven't really helped me shape my food choices. So I think @Jezzballs2000 plan is good and what I'd do if I had time over again.

Incognito19 · 26/10/2022 07:39

@MsRinky do you still have a referral code please?

Flockameanie · 26/10/2022 08:02

I do @Incognito19 - you can pm me and I’ll send it to you

Jezzballs2000 · 26/10/2022 08:26

Thanks @chutneypig, good advice. Anyone have good suggestions for that most elusive if things... breakfast on the run? i just had a flapjack at the train station with the logic that it's better than a croissant because FIBRE but it's def more sugar. I guess I'll have to try both in the name of science! I suppose the thing to do would be have a pre prepared pot of yogurt with seeds nuts and some berries or one of those egg muffin things. Not sure i'll ever be organised enough!

Permanentlyexasporated · 26/10/2022 09:27

I still have some codes if anyone needs

Wombat27A · 26/10/2022 10:01

That's the thing, it's the balance between sugar, fat & fibre.

You need to look at the monitor & wait for the score but the flapjack score may surprise you.

I pretty much score zero for bread stuff but better for chocolate. I'll just go & score it but I'm intrigued now as to what I'd eat on the run.

I do eat fruit with natural Yoghurt & seeds at home now.

Wombat27A · 26/10/2022 10:06

Bear in mind my scores were for poor fat & sugar control.

5 for flapjack
12 for croissant

I was wondering if a Mars bar would be better but it was worse, I think. 😁

I take a Tupperware of full fat Greek yog with some cherries and nuts/seeds. Takes 2 mins to put it together before leaving the house! Probably less time than queuing and paying for the croissant/flapjack.

Wombat27A · 26/10/2022 10:07

Dark chocolate was ok tho.

OP posts:
Flockameanie · 26/10/2022 10:09

a cheese croissant or other savoury pastry would prob be better…. Always best to start on a savoury breakfast if you can!

Wombat27A · 26/10/2022 12:27

@Flockameanie is right.

The coaching has a section on food combining, so bad scores are lifted if you add food stuff.

So a croissant & peanut butter is probably better than a croissant alone. Cheese would be even better & adding salad would get even more points.

VERY URGENT Q ABOUT ZOE @Wombat27A

I am going to use my partner's phone to monitor the glucose levels. But the order form is asking for a phone number as a contact about my order.

Do I have the opportunity to add another number for the blood glucose readings as my own phone is too old for that?

Wombat27A · 26/10/2022 18:40

Erm, I don't know but...

But I think it might be ok to use your own number for the phone as the app is logged into with the details supplied by Zoe. So not actually using a number, as it were.

Can anyone else help?

Just in case useful for anyone who had their referrals used, when you do your next subscription these get knocked off. So my siub runs out at the end of nov and instead of collecting the next payment of 4 x 32, they will just collect 32 but I'll get 4 months of tracking. This was verified by the chat support

On that basis I'll probably renew as it will be less than a tenner a month. Probably wouldn't if more.

LucyLocketts · 26/10/2022 18:45

Thanks @Wombat27A
I've completed the order saying NO I don't have a phone from 2018, and it's all gone through, as completed, so I guess I will have to see what happens when the kit comes.

Flockameanie · 26/10/2022 21:29

I'm confused now. I thought the referral sign-ups added a month, for each sign-up, to your existing subscription? Is that not the case and I have to re-up my subscription to benefit from the referrals??

chutneypig · 27/10/2022 06:02

I found my renewal email very confusing but had the clarification @lugeforlife had, that I'll pay 35 for four months. The email wasn't clear about deducting the referrals at all and I couldn't find any reference in the app. I guess they renew on a 4 month basis, I'd assumed it would be month by month. Perhaps they do offer that but at a higher rate

lugeforlife · 27/10/2022 07:03

@Flockameanie that's right.

I had assumed the same as you too but to use the referrals you need to re subscribe.

Did anyone else get asked about retesting? I said I was interested but then shocked at the price as it was essentially the same again. Given you can by the cgm easily enough for less, not such a great deal if like me blood sugar was your worst area.
