Zoe Nutrition Testing

Wombat27A · 15/06/2022 08:15

Not sure this is the right place for this...

Anyone else doing the Zoe Nutrition Testing?

My results were poor, so now I'm tackling my diet. I thought it was pretty good but it's clear it needs a major overhaul. So much information but finding it good.🙂

Day three and just ate second muffin batch Am another one married to a whippet !

ArrangeYourFace1 · 21/06/2022 12:03

I didn’t realise either wombat.

do you mean there is a lot of input from them? Do we have to have actual conversations about our results??

that would be a bit far for me too!

embrace your grumpy, wombat, that’s what I say.

or embrace your grumpy wombat. Even better

Wombat27A · 21/06/2022 12:53

Ha, ha, I love this.

There's lessons & chat. Lessons are quite good, short enough even for my attention span. But I've started getting odd scores because I struggle to track accurately as I cook from scratch. The app says I'm having too much fat but I can't have too much sugar /starch either & the veg is getting too much of a change for my gut.

Chat is obv voluntary but I've had a bit of a whinge.

Says not to be hungry but I can't quite work out what to eat, despite lots of info. I think I need to know the actual fat and/or sugar threshold. Can't follow long or even short recipes. 🙄😊

Just worked out the issue, they want intuitive eating (not to count calories) but there does seem to be some numerical thresholds. It would almost be better to track macros possibly.

Already ready to embrace a grumpy wombat here 😃

FinallyHere · 21/06/2022 12:58

I too am hooked on the glucose monitor, having had some surprises.

On Saturday, I spent the whole morning getting ready for hosting friends for lunch. I don't do this as often as I would like and prepare to within an inch, chopping veg into bag in fridge ready to go in saucepan at the right moment. And still completely forgot to put the fish under the grill eeekkk, so much for being prepared.

I like to think I am very laid back about it all but I drank only water all morning but still had a blood sugar spike to '9' I think in the middle of that morning.

I'm not ready to give up having the monitor and have ordered another two (hoping DH will join in too)

FinallyHere · 21/06/2022 12:58

Not sure about the coaching.

How long has everyone signed up for?

Wombat27A · 21/06/2022 12:59

Saying all that, avoiding the foods they gave me a low score for does seem to suit me. Feeling a whole lot better. 👍

OP posts:
FinallyHere · 21/06/2022 13:00

That sounds promising @Wombat27A

Pretty excited to get my results.

Do they say why they suggest you avoid any particular food or is it just 'avoid it'.

Wombat27A · 21/06/2022 13:02

I think 3 months? I only really wanted to do the tests but it's a whole process. Which I might as well do, at least in the short-term. 🤔😁

Wombat27A · 21/06/2022 13:35

@FinallyHere Yep, foods are scored according to the algorithm. Supposed to be personal.

So lots of surprises, chocolate & chippy chips are "better" for me than rice. Oats, which I ate a lot of, aren't great. Nuts are really good, cheese is pretty good, tho I think that's what is triggering the fat tolerance limit.

Spinach is my new friend. 😁

My homemade scones, nope. Dates, nope...it is really interesting.

Can't wait to start - but still on the waiting list

Ooh I didn’t know you could order more glucose monitors thought it was a one off - I ❤️ mine. Am trying all sorts of mini tests while I have it - was contemplating chocolate 🍫 for tonight but feeling a bit sugar overload after 5 muffins

FinallyHere · 21/06/2022 14:28

@Iwouldliketogovegan

In the LibreLink app which links to the sensor, first thing I noticed was an option to purchase more sensors. At first I thought well, that's one thing I won't need but since then have cracked.

Not cheap, either but so seductive 😀

SomePosters · 21/06/2022 14:36

Are you in the U.K.?

been following this project since before covid and am so impatient for it’s release here. Been on the waiting list forever!

Flockameanie · 21/06/2022 14:46

I’ve just signed up for this and have a referral code for another 2 people to jump the queue. Pm me if you want the link!

I’m starting in a few weeks. I recently wore a glucose monitor for 2 weeks (after reading about glucose spikes) and found it fascinating. So I’m really interested to see what my results are.

Flockameanie · 21/06/2022 14:46

I’m in the UK btw

SomePosters · 21/06/2022 14:49

I’d love that please! I will pm you now!

Yes the logging thing is a bit tedious.

I have been very relaxed, near enough is what I’ve gone for because like you a lot is home made and I’ll be damned if I write out quantities and ingredients.

But like you say that might cause issues if it means they are getting the recommendations slightly out?

That’s very interesting - a spike with no food! Though high activity I think does something? Although maybe it’s supposed to lower it? It goes down when we sleep though.

ArrangeYourFace1 · 21/06/2022 19:53

I saw the link to purchase more but didnt event cross my mind we could continue it for our own interest.

I think I also have a free sign up link if anyone wants

lugeforlife · 21/06/2022 20:17

@ArrangeYourFace1 if you have a referral link that would be amazing. I am signed up in the waiting list but nothing but a single email so far

Wombat27A · 21/06/2022 21:36

I had a massive spike one night in the middle of the night. Must be a reason.

I get a warning about too much fat but it might be cheese!

I'm pretty hefty and get quite hungry. It's taking me a bit of time to adjust and I thought I was eating ok before!

This sounds super interesting Smile I've signed up in the back of this thread but if anyone else has any referrals please let me know

DaisyWaldron · 21/06/2022 23:04

I am also interested in a jump the queue referral if anyone has one.

MassiveSalad22 · 22/06/2022 03:49

Wow i have never heard of this before but sounds very interesting!

So I had a look at the site - I’m not hugely clear on the goal of the program, can it tell from your poo and blood which foods are unhealthy for the individual? And then separately there’s this muffin thing - but that will obviously cause a spike across the board (800 cals of muffin in one go!!) so what’s that telling you?

I’m v tempted by this sort of thing but often impulse buy/sign up on a whim and then regret it. I had to really go hunting for the price which makes me feel suspicious!! And it’s a lot! Also wondering if it will just lead me to be scared to eat anything at all, as I have been there before. But I really want to live a long time and as healthily as possible! But not without a bit of chocolate every now and again 😄

Would appreciate thoughts!
