For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

that vsounds like good news then avi..is it?

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 12:43

sorry I forgot to put the link in I think

you can't do very good links to it, but click on videos, on the left, and then scroll down to yukon

if you are the faintest bit interested of course

avi we have wraps often (I love that soft stodgy texture when you bite into them and then the contrast of the salad or whatever) and we frequently do roast veg in them (peppers and courgettes etc). The other day i did them with butternut squash and it was so good, we thought we would just roast anything within reach and put it in a wrap. Was good. But I think the thin baton concept is important, I would not want to stick large fat parsnips in a wrap.

the sun is shining we may go out. Or we may not

The wasp factory is fabulous and horrid and has a kite related incident in which is why I brought it up. I also really enjoyed the Bridge, but I was a pretentious teenager. More recently my favourite of his is Complicity - liked that very much indeed. Nasty though.

The kite thing is one of the reasons I hated it the first time I read it.

Still not sure about it.

ZippiBabes · 12/01/2008 13:33

oh wow it's sup[osed to be a dragonfly is ot how does thye water thing work..i will be most impressed if you get it to do that

the firthest i have ever got with expensive kites is do it like this oh dear the main stickthing holdoing it together has broke that's the end of that

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 13:34

warm preferably avi

but cold is ok

ZippiBabes · 12/01/2008 13:34

i stopped eating wraps cos i found out they had hi gi and seemed very fattening

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 13:35

Zippi dp has shown that video to ds and he thinks that is what they are going to do with it

past family kite experiences have been 3 hours of laying out strings and muttering 'oh shit'

or then there is mine which comes out of its bag and jumps out of your hand up into the air on the stillest day

hoorah

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 13:36

I think they are not v healthy zippi

I love them and they are the only non wholemeal bread product I regularly have. Possibly I love them because they are the only non etc etc

ZippiBabes · 12/01/2008 13:38

actually suggesting that a wrap full of delicious and healthy food is not very healthy does sound a bit

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 13:43

oh that's the thing - you can put the most wonderful stuff in them. I just think the actual WRAP is not very healthy? It doesn't bother me, we love them, and ds really enjoys them and always has, especially as fussy toddler they were very popular.

ZippiBabes · 12/01/2008 13:47

yeah i'm frowning at myself by the way not you

i have cleaned the frideg i am working my way through doing some cleaning for climber coming demain..tho he did come here for a short while the other week

is dp feeling better now..it's alovely day here

i ahce just had detox tea aniseed fennel and liqourice and might have another cup

my brain obviously expects a big caffeine hit from a hot drink so is telling me to make another

it's going to be disappoijnted again

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 14:02

he is a lot better, but ds is annoying him I think

MrsCarrot · 12/01/2008 14:10

I drink gallons of that tea, zippi, and the cleanse one, they're delicious.

pinkspottywellies · 12/01/2008 14:12

Sounds good Avi? So you can go back in another year if you want to?

Wraps are yummy! I like them as fajitas with chicken (sorry veggies ) sour cream, avocado, salad and if we're having a real piggy session with potato wedges and nachos! [fat pig emoticon]

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 14:14

yes I like them with slices of quorn fillets (not v healthy but liked my all), grated cheese, avocado, hummus and things like beetroot like avi said. Yes yes to pickled beetroot.

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 15:00

darn it have just reread 100's meringue instructions - have I left it too late to make this with ds this afternoon when he gets back from park? 100 says leave in oven to cool, overnight [fret]

MrsCarrot · 12/01/2008 15:49

hmm, will probably be ok, is cooling down on the wondowsill bad for a meringue then?

MrsCarrot · 12/01/2008 15:50

does anyone else say Me-ring-gu in their head as they type meringue from when they first learnt to spell it?

FrannyandZooey · 12/01/2008 16:17

ok, it isn't stiff

it EWAS stiff, till we did the sugar

now it's floppy

do I whisk it more? or is it fucked
