DH says my vagina is ridgy

Name change, for obvious reasons.

AIBU to wonder whether this is normal?
I know that most vaginas have ridges (rugae??)
But he says mine is very ridgy and I agree, when feeling myself.
I'm worried that it makes me feel strange or looser?
Is it unappealing for men when someone's ridges are more prominent?
Sorry, Google didn't really help me.

You think it’s reasonable to expect a woman to put up with her vagina only being used as a vessel to put his cock in?

If the woman is happy with that. I dislike cunniligus and fingering. I'd much prefer DH did not do those things. Unfortunately he really likes them so generally a couple of times a year I let him. But I definitely prefer sex that does not involve those things.

SarahBellam · 24/11/2021 14:47

Just waiting on someone to come along and ask if your ridgey vagina is a narcissist.

MysteriousMonkey · 24/11/2021 14:58

@foxgoosefinch

Thought this was interesting!

“Vaginal rugae can disappear during the second stage of labor. After a vaginal birth the rugae are not visible and the walls of the vagina are smooth. By the third week postpartum the vagina has become much smaller and the rugae begin to reform on the vaginal walls. Six weeks after birth, the rugae have returned to approximately the same size as they were before the birth. The number of rugae after childbirth decreases. In women who have not given birth, the rugae are more prominent than in those who have given birth multiple times.”

Women’s bodies are really quite amazing!

This explains my lack of ridges. Fecking kids, they wreck everything... Off to ask hubby if my lack of ridges are an issue and then let him try and work out what the hell I'm on about now Grin Honestly vaginas are all different and all wonderful, agree with PP who said its a privilege to be allowed near them Wine
Pinkspecs · 24/11/2021 15:00

He doesn't sound very nice, pointing out something to you on your body he doesn't seem to like.

MysteriousMonkey · 24/11/2021 15:02

Oh I had a boyfriend once who didn't like to put his fingers in, he was lovely but after a while it gets hard not to feel offended tbh. Oddly we didn't last... Next boyfriend struggled to keep his fingers out Blush

LittleGwyneth · 24/11/2021 15:08

He doesn't like putting his fingers inside your vagina? Are you okay with that?

All vaginas have ridges. Without wanting to get super graphic, it's part of what makes them enjoyable to put one's penis into. It's the reason that lots of sex toys also have ridges, or bumps, or other things to create light friction.

Seemslikeagoodidea · 24/11/2021 15:10

@Anordinarymum

My vagina is less ridgey these days, probably due to me having been around the block and back

She said he doesn’t touch her. She didn’t say she doesn’t want him to touch her.
OhGiveUp · 24/11/2021 15:13

@mostlyGuesswork I just asked him and he says he couldn't ever shove his cock into a hoover called Henry.

Inquisitivearchitect · 24/11/2021 15:16

Learnt something new today!! I wonder if mine is ridgey? Going to ask DH in a mo

EnidFrighten · 24/11/2021 15:25

For some reason the phrase 'ridgy vagina' in an Australian accent keeps going round my head since I started reading this thread

Like Joe Mangel from early 90s Neighbours, wiping his hands on a rag and saying 'Aw strewth, you've got a ridgy vagina'

EnidFrighten · 24/11/2021 15:26
@mostlyGuesswork I just asked him and he says he couldn't ever shove his cock into a hoover called Henry.
You get pink ones called Henrietta as well, he might find her more alluring

Arethechildreninbedyet · 24/11/2021 15:32

All vaginas are ridgy, don’t worry! Some can be more ridgy than others!

My husband commented on a change in ridginess that only after checking myself did I notice to be abnormal. I went to the GP about it and they queried whether it was a cyst and sent me for a test.

Thankfully it was a fluid build up because of an infection I didn’t realise I had and after a course of antibiotics the swelling went down. If it had been a cyst I wouldn’t have noticed for ages unless DH had commented.

If you feel anything internally has changed or is a little abnormal see if you can get a GP appointment just to make sure everything’s ok!

Branleuse · 24/11/2021 15:37

They're supposed to be ridgey. 1 it increases friction and sensation and 2, how on earth would it stretch out to give birth if it was just a smooth hole?
Are you sure your husband knows much about actual real life women??

MostlyGuesswork · 24/11/2021 15:37
@mostlyGuesswork I just asked him and he says he couldn't ever shove his cock into a hoover called Henry.
Oh, good - if he only shags female hoovers, that shows he's not a pervert!

Deela14 · 24/11/2021 15:37

@Polmuggle i feel like your missing the point here. Its not about the sex act its about the fact that ops h criticised her and claims to not like something she cant do anything about. Its her internal body not her hair style!

Imagine if the op turned around and said to her h she doesnt like his foreskin, something he was born with just like any other male on the planet and he cant do anything about. She had so much dislike for it so much so that she refused to give him head or a hand job. Im sure he would have a thing or two to say about that!

Its really offensive! And to that i say if he doesnt like it dont offer it up, also goodluck to him because majority of females have ridges in their vagina. Its how the human body was desgined.

If he cant stand it has he considered dating a man 🙃 problem solved Grin

I don’t understand A) how some women don’t know that vagina are have ridges (does no one masturbate anymore?) and B) why a husband would suddenly announce that (after several months/years?) of marriage? I mean, why has it come up now (if you’ll excuse the pun)and why has he suddenly decided he doesn’t like it or has he never liked it but just not bothered to say? So many questions! 😁

I don't put my fingers in my vagina when I masturbate.
OhGiveUp · 24/11/2021 16:10

@MostlyGuesswork I can't copy & paste your comment, but it cracked me up 😂😂

Iagreewithall · 24/11/2021 16:13

Ridgey is normal.

Straight guy not liking to touch vaginas. Not normal.

Straight guy refusing to touch his partner's bits (except, presumably with his cock, for his pleasure). Not acceptable.

Agree. The D in DH is for dick right?
Benjispruce5 · 24/11/2021 16:15

They are meant to have ridges. How very strange of him to comment on that! All sorts of changes will happen after childbirth and menopause. He needs a wake-up call!

NewlyGranny · 24/11/2021 16:19

In other breaking news, water is wet, ice is cold. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I think the ridges are less noticeable if you are older, very overweight and have borne many children. Perhaps that was actually his preferred dating pool but he didn't know it?

You could start pointing out suitable candidates when out and about: "Bet hers isn't ridgy!" That should put a stop to it. 😉

Yeah, DH = Dick Head. At least that's what I'm typing. 🤷🏻‍♀️
