For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Bocohohoho · 12/12/2007 20:18

Lully dp does really convincing impressions of those characters saying 'i'm going to take your face off', and the bit where Nicholas Cage says 'ah could eat a peach fur-arrs'.

It's not really so scary when he does it in his very convincing fake Bristolian accent though.

Grin
TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2007 22:38

Bristolian is scary. I went to school in Bristol

TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2007 22:40

Sorry Lully, don't know about the colloidal silver.

TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2007 22:41

FK, hope you feel better v. soon!

TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2007 22:43

Fmf, am going to look for your thread. hope I don't injure myself on your bush on the way.

OverRated · 13/12/2007 02:02

lol @ fullmoon's bush.

What is a pomelo? Am feeling rather ignorant.

Shameful 10/10 again, unless olives on pizza count.

FrannyandZooey · 13/12/2007 08:31

Am eating melon, banana, apple, pear, raisins.

Boco how is your itchiness?

Morning all Gosh it's frosty out today.

Wombling how is co-sleeping going? (Or not?)

Yulemoonfiend · 13/12/2007 09:25

OverRated! Look at you, with your 2am postings...!!

oh wailey, wailey, wailey. DH is on Day 5 of awful horrid coldy thing. I am vaguely under the weather but what I cannot cope with is this Waiting To Be Smitten Down with the bug. If I get it now, I have a fighting chance of getting it out of the way before ds's birthday and xmas. But if I don't get it soon, I will be ill at xmas...Wailey wailey.

Have gone through half a bottle of cider vinegar

Tatties · 13/12/2007 09:40

Oh FMF have some shoulder squeezes and hugs.

We have had the LONG drawn out colds here too. You will be ok if you get it; I managed to carry on more or less as normal but dp has been grumpy and unable to do much...

Yulemoonfiend · 13/12/2007 09:58

yesbut, I don't want to have to struggle on....xmas is at my sister's house this year with all the family so will utterly miserable if I am ill. (I won't have a 'bedroom' for the duration, just a inflatable on a mezzanine platform)

I have been glugging the cider vinegar, eating onions, garlic, chillis, drinking hot ginger and lemon and local honey, popping high dose vit c and eccinacea. And drinking lots of water. And keeping the back of my neck warm. Do you think that will fend off lurgies?

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 13/12/2007 12:32

Hi Chaps

Well I'm a very happy and relieved gibbon and am grinning like this

Tis' a cluster of mini cysts - everyone there was sweet, lovely and very thorough so my mind is well and truly at rest (phew)

Hope everyone else is having a good day

Franny I read your fabulous breakfast and it puts me to shame

Have had some melon though

Bocohohoho · 13/12/2007 12:47

Hooray Gibbon that's fantastic news - phew! You can do a big sigh of relief and relax and enjoy Christmas now! Very relieved for you x

littlerach · 13/12/2007 12:47

Glad to hear it, Gibbon.

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 13/12/2007 12:51

Thanks Chaps

Boco how is DD?? and that nasty dinner lady?

Tatties · 13/12/2007 12:52

Oh fantastic Gibbon

Bocohohoho · 13/12/2007 12:55

Dd is ok thanks Gibbon, not sure about the nasty dinner lady. I'm having to show restraint and try and leave it now as i'm not sure what else to do really. I went in to run art club yesterday and stood in the lunch hall giving sweeping evil glances to all dinner ladies, but i don't think anyone noticed, and they're all much scarier than me, so if they had i might have become mildly incontinent anyway.

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 13/12/2007 12:59

Thanks Tatties

Well I think you have dealt with everything remarkably Boco...I would be so proud if you were my mum, bet the other mums are so thankful too.

Bocohohoho · 13/12/2007 13:05

Thanks Gibbon that's really nice. I told them all today at toddlers as hadn't seen everyone since last friday and they were all really shocked at what had happened. It's been handled so badly, but at least it won't happen again and hopefully we can try and forget about it.
