For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Oh how lovely to come back from the madness that is the shops/shoppers today, to such lovely messages

Thanks Chaps x

TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2007 16:08

Good to see you Tatties you have been very scarce.

Ds2's class are selling Christmas cards tomorrow - hurrah! They are going to use the money for numeracy activities. Isn't that a good idea?

Good luck Gibbon
Btw one of dd2's favourite songs is Funky Gibbon.

OverRated, how is your snow?

Zippi, your chap sounds like fun. Compatible senses of humour are v. important.

Avi, why have you changed your name? And how did anybody recognise you? Or is it perfectly logical and I am just dim?

I'm tired and I don't know what dinner is.

Dd1 is making saffron buns because it is St Lucia's day tomorrow. She has made a wreath but will be using pretend candles.

DingDongMerriLullyOnHigh · 12/12/2007 16:38

hello my lovelies

sorry havn't been around much,ds has been so ill & I've come down with fourth lot of bug..cant seem to shake things off these days.
Resorted to a trip to the docs as ds has lost 7lbs in a month
..but was pretty fruitless as ever.

Gib..I am thinking of you my lovely..here if you need me x
Toot... at losing your shopping...what was in it?
Franny...hope ds feels better soon ..how are you feeing?
Avi..like the name..but also reminds me of horrid Nicolas Cage film.

Wombling......you are an absolute darling
So,so lovely of you to think of me...they are just perfect,so soft & just my colours...thankyou ..I am very touched.

...ds has had to amuse himself today ..some play doh..some duplo creations....but rather too much Bagpuss

TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2007 16:45

Oh Lully, poor you and poor ds! Remind me, how old is he? I hope you both perk up soon!
The shopping was food - bread flour, soya milk, fruit spread, choc waffles for the dcs, that sort of thing. It feels v. personal though - one's own shopping that one has thought about.
Are you going away for Christmas Lully? I sort of remember you saying you were.

TooTickyDoves · 12/12/2007 16:47

I bought a pomelo yesterday

womblingalong · 12/12/2007 16:47

Gibbon,

Hope things go well, good luck.

Lully you are so very welcome, I thought they would be just perfect for you.

I wasn't sure how everyone recognised Avi, either TooT I am sure it is because I is a bit dim.

Tatties hello, love;y to see you!

Zippi, man sound good actually, have fun.

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 12/12/2007 16:50

Oh lully, sorry to hear you're both under the weather petal
I did mail you but I'm guessing it didn't arrive...my e mail is [email protected] you may be able to get one through to me

I really get you on the whole shopping being personal TooT

HowTheGibbonStoleChristmas · 12/12/2007 16:51

Thanks wombling

Yulemoonfiend · 12/12/2007 17:41

oh Gibbon, just seen ...Wishing you strength and smiles and sunshine and hope....x

Hello everyone. I am glum. I will just sit here and pick at your nice food, if that's ok.

DingDongMerriLullyOnHigh · 12/12/2007 17:55

oh lovely what's wrong?
I'd give you a hug...but I'm rather germy

Toot...he's 3.5
Have you any wise words about cholodial(sp?) silver

gib...no mail...I dont know what's up with our connection

DingDongMerriLullyOnHigh · 12/12/2007 18:00

ok....it's colloidal silver

FrannyandZooey · 12/12/2007 18:22

I missed you FMF! Waht's up?

Lully very sorry ds is struggling with these bugs. The only thing I can say is having seen a child lose a lot of weight through illness, she did put it back on with alacrity once properly better. And I don't think you can have too much Bagpuss, really.

I always know Avi, she cannot hide Actually there are so many name changers at the moment and I can't quite put my finger on them. Being a control freak I find this quite hard. Plus Christmas names are confusing - there is someone called BeeWiseMen and I keep thinking it is our Bee.

I have had leek and mushroom frittata thing with mashed celeriac made by dp who has found me and ds a trial today, me in particular, oh dear he is going out late night shopping in a minute so I hope he can forgive me in time to buy me some nice things and not come home with stuff like, I don't know, pile ointment or something

TooT NQC bought me a pomelo once, it was intriguing, but citrus is not my favourite and my best I don't think

zippitippitoes · 12/12/2007 18:26

i have only had fruit apples banans and satsumas and cheese today and er rather a lot of coffee..which has released my inner sillinbes

hugs to everyone who is poorly

FrannyandZooey · 12/12/2007 18:28

put those sillinbes away IMMEDIATELY

what were you thinking of releasing them?

OP posts:
Yulemoonfiend · 12/12/2007 18:28

Recieves hugs gratefully and doles a few out (purely for your warmth and body heat...)
well, DH is manflu sick, I am teetering on edge of sick,
I have horridness abounding over ds's nativity play (see AIBU thread for details)
I have run out of money and there is around 10 days till pay day AND

((brace yourselves))

the council have sent me a letter complaining about the state of my bush....

No really, it's overhanging and could be a danger to partially sighted people! Ifsomeone injured themselves on my bush I could get sued.
And if I don't trim my bush myself within 14 days, the council will send a man round to do it for me...

FrannyandZooey · 12/12/2007 18:29

I am eating home made mince pies with (crap but nice shopbought) raspberry ice cream

I didn't make the filling of the mince pies but I did make the pastry. I didn't MEAN to make the pastry, I hate making pastry. I bought some but when I opened it it was mouldy. The filling is Meridian sugar free mincemeat and it is very nice.

Hullo all

Gibbon good luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you.

Lully - poor old DS, he sounds really low doesn;t he. Sometimes these things just seem to set in and they can;t shake them. He will eat madly when he feels up to it, you could start freezing ahead

Well talking of low I am still chasing those minty winds, I am now alternating some Lanes Sage & Garlic Cataarh syrup (tastes so foul it must be doing some good), elderberry extract, manuka honey and a hanky with eucalyptus sprinkled on it wrapped round my face.

I have turned the heating right down because it just makes thing worse, so although I am shivering I don;t know if it's from being cold or feeling crappy.

Have had a glass of carrot, apple, ornage & beetroot juice, a satsuma, an apple, bowl of fruit at work free lunch (strawbs, mango, pineapple, grapes), pasta with tomato & veg sauce, and carrot, beetroot & cucumber salad for supper.

I am desperate to be better by saturday because it's the big party and I can;t not be there, since I'm organizing it.

DingDongMerriLullyOnHigh · 12/12/2007 19:35

Av.....it was a 1997 film...Nicolas Cage & John Revolta called Face Off.Gave me nightmares forever...truly horrid...main characters were castor & pollux
