For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

gizmo..... I just clicked on that link......it says LOOFAH-GASMIC!!!!! ....lordy me

Boco · 10/11/2007 10:47

Oh, and now he is again. He splits up with his girlfriend every 3 weeks. (my family sound more and more dysfunctional by the post) - she's trying to get him to meet up and talk tonight, as he ended it a few days ago. He says he's coming now and will meet her for lunch instead, but depends what happens when they meet. She's a fiery Italian woman and does public displays of heartbreak and anger. Hope they don't get back together and her come too, that often happens and she's as tiring as the children.

lullabyloo · 10/11/2007 10:48

100x .....that has been my cleaning up method for years.
I keep buying bags

ahundredtimes · 10/11/2007 11:06

Dh used to like doing that. He liked crying in restaurants.

Is this the girlfriend who went riding spanish horses or something? Does she have a mane?

I hope he comes, without her.

My mother is driving us all nuts. All business about Christmas. My brother has just rung me and said 'She called and said you had withdrawn the invitation.' GRRRRR.

There's screaming upstairs now, I'm going to investigate. dd will have no friends left, or unmaimed, at this rate.

lullabyloo · 10/11/2007 11:14

oh dear......why do I not learn not to get involved in food/sweets/crap threads?
I forget from time to time that this is why I limit mn time to the 10/10 thread only
ho hum

Boco · 10/11/2007 11:17

My dp would probably fake being dead if anyone cried in a restaurant in front of him.

Yes she spent the summer horse riding in Mongolia with her mother. She's very stunning and a bit crazy. The girls like her because she rides shopping trolleys up the aisles of the supermarket and rolls about on the floor in public. My brother is a bit like that too, so together they're just a couple of loonies, but apart they're nicely eccentric and fun.

The first time she met my dad she called him a muthafucka. Luckily he took it well.

Hope the screaming was innocent fun rather than bodily maiming.

ahundredtimes · 10/11/2007 11:20

Oh dear, well he'd better not go out with dh if there are relationship troubles. Dh blew his nose on the tablecloth once.

No, all bodily parts in tact. They are now playing on the computer. God, dd is bossy though. I'm not sure what to do about this. It's very unattractive.

ahundredtimes · 10/11/2007 11:28

No, now they are dressing up and putting on a play. They want ds2 to be in it too.

dd's friend is singing. dd wants her to wear the weird mullet wig, she wants the fairy wings, quite rightly. I bet they don't get as far as a performance. There will be artistic differences, and strops in the green room.

ahundredtimes · 10/11/2007 11:31

Oh dear lully did you have a falling out?

Right I must go for the weekend now. I am spending too much time detailing the ghastly minutae of my life rather than working through The List.

I am going to put furniture polish on my curtain pole now, apparantly it means they will slide along rather than judder and fall off, which is what they're doing now.

See. Fascinating.

Have a good weekend all.

IdrisTheDragon · 10/11/2007 11:34

Hello . I am in the library, post hair cut and colour. Didn't go for DS's suggestion of indigo, or failing that, violet, but have something chestnutty instead.

Happy birthday little wellie wearing one (is it today? I hope so ).

Boco, I was watching the programme with your grandad in it last night. He did seem very lovely .

DH has given me leave to stay out for a bit. I am going to have lunch and pretend to be a grownup .

Boco · 10/11/2007 11:43

Oh Idris did you see him?! Isn't he lovely. I really hope it's on again. He wrote his memoirs of this years in the camp, and it was quite disturbing, he's such a quiet and gentle person i was shocked by all that had happened to him.

lullabyloo · 10/11/2007 11:44

at hair do/lunch & being grown up

MrsCarrot · 10/11/2007 12:31

Bonjour legumes

We survived. We even had some fun. DD was hysterical on the rollercoasters screaming for them to go faster while significantly larger people that had had to fold themselves into the carriages were turning several shades of grey.

Thankyou for birthday good wishes. I loved the carrotcake!

Tatties - what a beautiful card, it was my best one, and thanks so much for the treats. I will try to relax - I have pencilled that in for next week.

Franny - Are you resting, eating well? Thank you for my very cherry card and vegetable calender, dc's think it's hilarious and that we have to make them. No no, I said, we will just look at them.

Have I missed much? I can't face reading through all week. may I have a nutshell?

I don't want to be thirty. 15 or so of us are going to a japanese restaurant tonight and then we are comin back to mine for cocktails. I am a bit tired though, and I must go to buy a new dress. It might be a green one, or maybe red. I will try not to buy black.

MrsCarrot · 10/11/2007 12:45

My 'g' is a bit stuck by the way. I haven't been Americanised by four days in Disneyland. I noticed a sneaky coming in last post

lullabyloo · 10/11/2007 12:50

Mrs C!!!!
Welcome back....we missed you....lots
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaapy Belated Birthday
Glad you had a good time ....details .....great details please
Tonight sounds fun.....we will have to make up some 10/10 cocktail names for you.

Boco · 10/11/2007 12:52

Hello MrsC. Glad you had a good time, hope you enjoy this evening. Your card is still at the bottom of my bag - had yet another week of illness that's my excuse for carrying it about and not posting it.

Taking dcs to a green Fair now at the town hall. There will be hippies selling crystals and WI ladies serving tea and looking horrified. We'll have some carrot cake and then come home.

zippitippitoes · 10/11/2007 12:56

I am being summoned to watch a fizzing volcano dp and ds have been making for about 6 weeks

I feel a strange apathy creeping over me

OP posts:
lullabyloo · 10/11/2007 13:07
Grin
FrannyandZooey · 10/11/2007 13:10

it was shit

no actually that is insulting to shit

about a teaspoon of pink liquid dribbled out of the top

this was a kit where you spend ages making a volcano and painting it etc and then it 'erupts', or in this case, dribbles

I have given them bottle of vinegar and pot of bicarb and told them to do a proper one

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 10/11/2007 13:12

ooh now THAT is a bit more like it hoo hooo! we have bright red fizzing stuff all over the dining room table. Marvellous. ds absolutely delighted

OP posts:
MrsCarrot · 10/11/2007 13:14

Lol Franny at 'it was shit', feeling a little expectant? you may regret giving them the bicarb...

I thought it would be easy to google making the perfect margarita. There are a million
different recipes. I don't have the time or liver to experiment. Will I care later?

Boco - God, get some of those cristal women to do somethingg over your dc's, or get some vit C or something. I can hardly believe your bad luck. Get well vibes to you all.

lullabyloo · 10/11/2007 13:14

oh the marvel that is Franny

puts bicarb & vinegar on list

MrsCarrot · 10/11/2007 13:15

and Lully, can I do disney details later? I feel a bit full of it atm, need to decant somewhat. I will get pissed and then be better.
