For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Good luck 100

we have another party tomorrow, and I have to reprise my hilarious "witch with fuchsia tights" outfit

ds is also going to be a witch apparently, but he won't wear the dress he wore last year, so he has to have pirate trousers. Dp is a rather large ghost in white nylon. We have to walk to the party is broad daylight, so I do feel for you 100

FK you must get a shopping trolley, you know, the ones on wheels. You can get quite stylish looking ones and they are absolutely indispensible if you walk and do food shopping.

FrayedKnot · 03/11/2007 20:50

I have placed a very small order with Waitrose

I am thinking of getting a trolley, honestly. It's on my Christmas list

I will still go, I just ordered bulky things like flour and pasta and tinned tomatoes.

I love fancy dress parties. No-one ever invites me

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 21:37

I keep meaning to get a shopping trolley. But I don't like buying new things unless they are glowingly ethical. Anyway, muscles and stretched arms are good, aren't they?

FrannyandZooey · 03/11/2007 21:39

second hand trolleys

toned arms etc good

having to drag child to town every other day bad

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 21:42

Lionheart, I am trying to start a game with you but the board won't show.#

Franny, was going to have my go but the board won't show.

Sigh.

FrannyandZooey · 03/11/2007 21:43

oh it is my dodgy links, they are all like that for me as well TooT. Refresh until it shows up

OP posts:
FrayedKnot · 03/11/2007 21:44

I was thinking of acquiring one from tescos

ONLY JOKING!

That's very good of you TooT. Sometimes you see them in Charity Shops..

I was thinking about a rucksack which would leave my hands free, I kind of need to be fairly hands free because I have DS with me and he is still a bit of a liability when out shopping. ATM I tend to take the buggy and pile it up with stuff but then DS wants to keep hopping in and out and we end up with the buggy tipping over and me gettign all hot and bothered.

FrayedKnot · 03/11/2007 21:46

Ooh I love that basket on wheels one!

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 21:47

Hmm. No trendy ones I see. Why do the non-trendy ones bother me?

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 21:49

Franny, it did show up earlier but I was too busy to think at the time (2 extra children again and today everybody was tired and irritable) and somebody got rid of the page.

I'd need a slim trolley anyway otherwise it would be a menace on the village bus.

FrannyandZooey · 03/11/2007 21:51

just keep refreshing

it will come back

OP posts:
TooTicky · 03/11/2007 21:51

Rucksacks are good. However I can often fill a rucksack plus shopping bags what with library books for five, flour, soya milk and other heavy joys.

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 22:14

And what if I keep refreshing this page? Will all of you come back? Or is it National Go To Bed Early Unless You're Out Partying week?

Lionheart, have started game

Franny, am despairing! You have left two triples for me and I can't get to either of them!

FrannyandZooey · 03/11/2007 22:16

I am here but not for long I don't think

womblingalong · 03/11/2007 22:23

TooT,

I am here, recovering from infection of the gums brought on by the dentist's root canal work!

I have finally emailed you about clothes, hope you get it!

I have had banana, mango, pea soup and salad today, so not v good at all.

Franny,

Hope you are managing to rest, despite all the fireworks.

FK, I can't see your pics, did you manage to sort them out?

Boco, how are you and the DD's? hope you are all a bit brighter.

Happy Birthday Mrs C, hope your breasts are getting better.

Hundred, how was the sexy witch thing?
I am sorry I missed the stuff about RL friends

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 22:29

Wombling, you poor thing! It's awful having things wrong in your mouth - it affects so much. I have just replied to your email btw

Franny, I am stuck stuck stuck! I shall end up doing some ridiculously trivial little word.

Try now wombling, sorry!

I am fed up with Tesco round here. A Tesco Express was built at the top of our road, another is just opening nearby, and we have a medium-sized Tesco 5 minutes drive away. They have just submitted plans to extend that store, but as it's in the middle of a residential area I don;t think they will be allowed to. That is despite also having a mahoosive store 10 minutes away on the other side of town.

But then again, even Tescopoly is dwarved by this which has been proposed for 5 minutes up the road from us

www.cprekent.org.uk/news/2007/news-2007-10/index.htm

Planning has just gone in and I am drafting my letter to the council this weekend. There is no support for it locally at all but even the thought of it makes me want to cry

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 22:58

Franny, you know that link you gave me? Well, I struggled and struggled and eventually came up with something reasonable and do you know what? It wouldn't let me submit it. I tried and tried. And then it came to me. It was your link, not mine. And I had been struggling with your letters. Ho hum. I'll try again...

TooTicky · 03/11/2007 22:59

Lovely pics FK, but I see you are another elusive one.

womblingalong · 03/11/2007 23:20

Thanks FK, your DS looks so smiley and cuddly!

BBBee · 04/11/2007 09:03

hello

I have done no work and feel asleep at 8pm last night - most unlike me. I can;t catch up witht his thread.

love to all.

Bbbeee

FrannyandZooey · 04/11/2007 09:34

FK you and your son look like you are in a magazine or a travel brochure on that top one. You look wonderfully leggy but as TooT says, elusive.

Wombling I am wincing about your poor mouth. How horrible. Have you got oil of cloves etc? it can make your mouth much more comfortable although I realise it may be somewhat less effective than you may need.

TooT how funny! I thought the link would work for either of us? Are my letters really vile then?

I have had 2 mornings lying in (back at work next weekend must admit I am not thrilled at prospect). We are meant to be going out tonight but ditto, really. Ds doesn't want a babysitter, the babysitter doesn't want to be late on a school night, we can't find anything we want to do, and tbh I CAN'T RUDDY BE BOTHERED. So there.

Franny, what wonderful news

100x, I am already having my mid-life crisis, I have been planting a small orchard at the bottom of the garden and I now hobble like I'm a hundred and three. In fact, I really do feel like I'm 103. I last dyed my hair in 2005, pre DS's conception, and my last hair cut was in a hurry with a god-awful salon i picked at random on the high street and thought 'that will do' - NEVER succumb to such madness. It will not 'do'. Gah, I am a fright. I look like the archetypal lentil weaver, all droopy boobs, scarecrow hair and mis-shapen jeans with bits of twine and a pair of secateurs sticking out the back pocket. I would so like to surprise people with my lentil-weaverish-ness, "really, you? c'est impossible" but actually they nod and say, "of course you are". I find this deeply disturbing and somewhat depressing. A very long time ago I used to be elegant. Now I unpick my disintegrated cashmere jumpers and put the strands in the garden for birds to line their nests.

Wombling, sympathies on the root canal work, teeth and gum pain is the worst in the world IME, that's why I never begrudge cuddling DS for eight hour through the night stints when he's teething, you shouldn't have to bear that pain alone. Hope you're getting cuddles

lionheart · 04/11/2007 10:02

Hello, 10/10s.

It's not showing for the games that are already running, TooT, not just the ones that you just started.
