For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

No, I haven't been to the Lock Inn. We do like BoA though, and the swimming pool is great for little ones.

ds has been ill & mopey
I have gravel throat from hell
every available surface is stacked with party food
I have to be up at dawn to make a billion heart & star shaped sandwiches
I havn't eaten
dh has had a dinner do at Tate Modern

PSW - it was very good. A man called Adam Hill (s?). It was funny and I laughed a lot. Beforehand I ate 3 million tapas things, lots of veg, lots of cheesy potatoes . I am hungry again. I had a lie in [swoon] then next door woke me up having a stand up row in their front garden

My little turnip seedlings are coming up

I have some mystery veg. They look like small turnips, have white flesh, smell strongly of radishes and burn the tongue when one tries to eat a sliver raw. What are they and what on earth can I do with them?

not sure that I would count them as a vegetablke as such in the useful sense..are they just hot turnips

I don't know. Perhaps I'll try cooking them.

It sounds like white beetroot but I don't think that would be hot like that

I think horseradish is a long root a bit like a leek shape

I am exhausted today. Very busy coupla weeks. Last night was dsses halloween disco. The tuck shop which I was running was so busy, even when we had sold out of everything, children were hovvering with their 20ps eyeing up empty cardboard boxes speculatively!

MIL is nearing the end of her chemo but is now (understandably) clinically depressed. I wish I lived neraer or could drive
She is too worn out by the treatment to read, or listen to tapes or anything so I can't even send her nice things. Which makes me feel impotent.

Am so looking forward to next weekend, though wardrobe crises keep looming (I'm always like this...I have too many styles depending on my mood )
And my new glasses won't be ready in time, so have to wear my shabby, scratched old things. feel like the 'before' in a Specsavers ad. Contact lenses are not behaving at the moment. And I can't afford a haircut Still, I know we 10/10 bunch are on a higher plane and so you will not comment notice.

We are going to big bonfire tonight and having a baby firework party on sunday with sparkerls, firepit, marshmallows, vat of chilli and strange pathetic japanese fireworks with names like Golden Showers which are suitable for our built-up area, handerkerchief lawn.

Sadly MIL has now developed super sentitivity to body lotions etc. I was looking at the sort of nice nighties she likes to wear but they are too expensive.
She's lost her appetite.

And I fear I am overloading her with cards, pictures etc from the dsses as it is all I can think of to send.
