For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

hi all i love olives..synching with me too give or take a day or two..i have been planitng today displaying about half a mile of flesh in the process...builders bum low waisted skinnies..did however manage to wear a t shirt without cleavage

thinking of going to the cinema to see eastern promises tonight

pinkspottywellies · 02/11/2007 19:06

BBB I haven't had a bacon sandwich for weeks! (I did buy some bacon this week however, with a sandwich in mind )

I like olives and sprouts - I might try sprouts in coleslaw. Sounds nice. I made banana cake, yogurt and bread today. I think 10 mins kneading was the closest I got to exercise!

We went to Storytime at the library today and they do '5 currant buns in a bakers shop' and have little laminated pennies and buns and dd had a penny and bought a bun! I was soooo proud!

pinkspottywellies · 02/11/2007 19:15

My period started on Wed but my cycle is usually about 6 weeks so I probably won't be synching with anyone!

FrayedKnot · 02/11/2007 19:24

I am totally out of sync with myslef though so only to be expected. If my body ever did what it was supposed to I would fall over in amazement.

Raw sprouts = wind

Goes back to lardons & double cream idea

Hope you enjoy the comedy night Franny - I went to one recently and had a really good jovial time.

Our only social engagement this weekend is Sunday when we are going to a firework extravaganza with jousting and hog roasts etc. When I enquired as to the vegetarian option I was told it would be cheese & onion pasties Think I will be packing a flask of soup. Am terribly excirted though. We haven't done fireworks since well before DS was born.

FrayedKnot · 02/11/2007 19:26

Sorry to clarify because that sounded rather odd, I am not veggie, but I don;t eat bread and don;t like Hog Roasts anyway, but nor do I want to eat pies.

Good eveining all.

Sprouts are nice in a stir fry.

BBBee · 02/11/2007 19:44

oh I have my period a week early - I think since FZ went up the duff we have all gone cycles a go-go!

FZ - are you okay? I remember it being a be-fuddling time.

I still don;t have a car and am on the train. Drove (in borrowed car) past crash sight today and went a bit goose bumpy and shivery.

Have had no fruit and vegetables today - but no food at all really so no good stuff and no bad stuff.

TooTicky · 02/11/2007 19:47

Bee, you don't sound as if you are looking after yourself Did you get my email btw? Some of mine have gone missing recently so I worry a bit.

BBBee · 02/11/2007 19:48

oh I hardly ever check that email - hang on...

BBBee · 02/11/2007 19:51

no - no email from you toot (but meet up one from fz so glad I checked. I am excited. Are people excited?)

TooTicky · 02/11/2007 19:51

I am eating lentil roast which contains onions, mushrooms, fresh parsley, garlic and lemon juice. And lentils. Also grated carrot and apple and roasted squash, parsnip and beetroot. What a meal! I need it. Am rather tired - dd2 was v. unsettled last night for what seemed like hours before being sick. Then I couldn't get back to sleep for ages.

MrsC, may I talk to you?

TooTicky · 02/11/2007 19:52

Oh poop. Don't suppose I'm in your spam folder? For a vegan, I end up in them surprisingly often.

BBBee · 02/11/2007 19:53

that sounds nice toot - I want to eat that.

TooTicky · 02/11/2007 19:54

Ds1 is about to hound me off the computer. Will be back later

littlerach · 02/11/2007 19:55

Oops.
Had minectrone soup for lunch, followed by very ripe banana.
Grapes.
Lots of dried fruit. Slurp.

The out for tea as FIL goes tomorrow.
And had delicioud tomato and basil soup (again!) followed by caramel shortcake. Drooool.

TooTicky, we went to the Lock INn in BoA. Do you know it? The girls love it there.

I am dreading tomorrow.
Dh and dd1 are driving FIL to the next set of relatives and will be gone all day. Dd2 is gutted that she can't go.

She has become attached to dh as he's had 2 weeks off.

Think of me...

I fear it'll be a long day.

DH loves the Lock In. He's most upset with my mum for moving away!

FrayedKnot · 02/11/2007 20:16

Avi I posted on your firework thread. I don;t like people having them in their back gardens. DS would sleep through anything and the cat isn;t bothered these days, but I appreciate some peoples' childrens and animals may be more sensitive. Or they themsleves. We live in a surburban area which is generally pretty noisy anyway, but for the last 2-3 nights and continuing over this weekend there is a constant thud and whizz all evening. I think it's pretty antisocial.

I do actually really love fireworks, though. I like going out int eh dark and the flickering light of a bonfire...and the smell.

pinkspottywellies · 02/11/2007 20:22

We've got fireworks going off round here. They keep coming through on dd's monitor and making it flash! She's not woken up though. We're going to PIL's bonfire party tomorrow night but they're not having fireworks.

pinkspottywellies · 02/11/2007 20:38

I've just been perusing the unanswered threads and there's one about babywearing. Don't know if any of you might be able to help her.

littlerach · 02/11/2007 20:40

PSwellies, dds adore it.
We went last week, and we sat in the potting shed until it got dark, and there were all little fairy ligths and it was just so nice.

We sat indoors today as it was quite chilly.

Did you mum live by the chapel in Yarnbrook (stalker warning!). I remember a house being sold there recently. My friend lives near the giant yucca plant.

She lived down near the roundabout where the Long Arms is. There were 2 houses down a lane.

pinkspottywellies · 02/11/2007 20:55

Avi, did you see my post just below?
