For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Bocoreepy · 31/10/2007 12:36

Mrs Carrot thank you! The post just came and dd1 is thrilled, please say thank you to your dd. She thinks the throat pastilles are the most grown up things she's ever had and is sucking one very seriously. And she won't open the stationary pack on the magazine yet because she says she just wants to enjoy it how it is for a while. Thank you thank you xxx

Tatties · 31/10/2007 15:28

Oh no MrsC Can you rest?

Boco glad you are all on the mend now. It is amazing how much better a good sleep can make you feel

FrightKnot · 31/10/2007 17:20

Hello everyone
Boco glad DDs seem to be mending themselves slowly and you are well rested..

I've lit the pumpkin and await Trick or treaters

We've made some biscuits and I bought some marshmallows

Now I wish we had a fire pit

IdrisTheDragon · 31/10/2007 18:51

We have lit our pumpkin that DH expertly carved this morning (as well as making yummy punpkin soup that I have been having sneaky bits of today ).

DS insisted we put a sign saying Mr Pumpkin next to the Pumpkin .

Tatties · 31/10/2007 19:38

I am quite upset that I didn't get ds a costume now. I am going to get one in the sale for next year I think

Idris are you going to toast the seeds they are yummy and full of zinc

TooTicky · 31/10/2007 19:40

Tatties, I rather stupidly didn't know that you can eat seeds fresh from the pumpkin. Are squash seeds okay too?

We've just got back from Monkey World. Think I have seen more play areas than monkeys
Dd1 fed dd2 crying chocolate on the way home to stop her crying for mummy milk

FrannyandZooey · 31/10/2007 20:06

Good evening all, I hope you are having a very jolly Halloween

firepit was a grand success, kept us warm for half an hour, and mellowed everyone out, as fires do when you all sit around rather aimlessly staring at the flames and looking cheerful

we ate salad and hummus and wraps

ds was a baby ghost and dp was a daddy ghost in matching costume, it was very funny.

Oh MrsC!

lionheart · 31/10/2007 20:22

Hello everyone.

Lovely Halloween with a big bonfire and spooky candle lit bath but that greasy orange face paint

is all over the carpet and sofa and I don't know how to get it out.

TooTicky · 31/10/2007 20:35

Can you just pretend there were always orange streaks?

lionheart · 31/10/2007 20:51

I would but I just had the whole lot cleaned.

If it had happened last week it wouldn't have been so obvious because of all the other marks.

lionheart · 31/10/2007 20:53

Never mind--I bet someone else will start a thread on the very same topic later on.

Tatties · 31/10/2007 21:00

Lionheart oh no [why can't we do halloween ]

TooT I don't know about squash seeds

Franny party sounds great. I think dp wants to have one next year, he is unsually enthusiastic and talking about dressing up and everything

FrannyandZooey · 31/10/2007 21:04

I am so tired and stupid, i can hardly type

my mouth tastes funny

dp says no I can't go to bed as it is 9 pm

but I am going

Night night Franny. Have sent email but goodness knows when it will arrive.

Tatties · 31/10/2007 21:11

Night Franny

pinkspottywerewolf · 31/10/2007 21:11

I did EXERCISE today and had raisins and leek and potato soup and banana and plums and mushrooms and onions and tomato and peas with my coughsteakcough. Fruit and veg anyone? Exercise? Franny's brain is turning to mush and she's forgetting to shout at everyone about f&v. Ah that's why you were so wishy washy on bootcamp, Franny! It hasn't affected your Scrabble ability though. You're kicking my ass!

Oooh, that was a gabble! Evening everyone! We hid in the back room when someone knocked on the door tonight

pinkspottywerewolf · 31/10/2007 21:13

Night night Franny! Of course you can go to bed at 9. We are and have no excuse!

FunkyGlassSlipupandyouredead · 31/10/2007 21:14

Hi Guys,

I had a DD1 dressed as a pumpkin and DD2 dressed as a black cat tonight. DD1 disappointed that only 2 lots of children knocked on our door so I have rather a lot of chocolate to eat now

Tatties · 31/10/2007 21:18

LOL Pink. Well done on the exercise! I need to go back to the gym but I don't know how to do it. It is dark in the evening now and I don't want to go out

Bocoreepy · 31/10/2007 21:30

I took the poorly witch trick or treating and dd2 was a furry black cat - she looked great in a big hand made furry black suit. We just went to friends and they were all a bit unprepared, so we got a bourbon biscuit and an apple and at one house we went in for home brewed cider (and apple juice for the children) That was a good house, don't usually like cider, but it tasted like rum. I don't usually like rum either - but together they're great.

Dp has gone climbing again.

I've eaten a rubbish dinner that i can't admit to. But had lentil soup for lunch. And an apple.
