For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

i don't think i have one

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2007 21:23

who has an accent? Own up. I think I sound very cultured and then I hear myself and there is this awful nasal Essex squeaking

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 20/10/2007 21:25

is it possible to not have an accent...if so i don't have one

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2007 21:25

you have a southern accent? You must come from somewhere

OP posts:
zippitippitoes · 20/10/2007 21:28

it's more south than north

but i would say it's neutral

pinkspottywellies · 20/10/2007 21:31

Yes the Feijoada is like a cassoulet I think - beans and beef, pork, sausage, chorizo. We have it at a Brazilian restaurant here so I'm going to try and make something similar

Franny I hope you feel better. I don't know what the latest thing with your mother is but you have some difficult times don't you

Zippi I love your hair. It always looks so swishy!

By the way, everyone who talked slings with me the other week, just to update: I ordered a pouch sling, paypal took about 2 weeks, royal mail strikes added another week and when it arrived it was too big. I now have to send it back to get a smaller size. Dammit, I should have got a ring sling or something else adjustable!

Not eaten much again today - cucumber at lunchtime and tomato pasta sauce. Still feeling pretty crappy

FrayedKnot · 20/10/2007 21:35

I don't think I have an accent, but you will have to tell me.

DS speaks perfect EE

pinkspottywellies · 20/10/2007 21:36

I'd say my accent is fairly neutral. When I first moved here (east midlands) I used to get people here saying I sounded very southern and people at home (south-west) saying I'd picked up a northern twang!

To be honest, I pick up the accent of whoever I'm talking to really easily and I worry that it sounds like I'm copying but it just happens, and I can hear it but can't stop it!

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2007 21:38

PSW LOL I do that too and I do it with people who have very distinctive posting styles. I can't help it

Franny, have you read Alice Miller 'Drama of the Gifted Child". ? It is a short book, beautifully written and may lend you some useful insights into how to move on to a place where your mother can't so easily press your buttons.

I have a DH who cooks. I notice DS watching him solemnly amidst clouds of steam and tasty aromas and I suspect one day I will have a son who cooks too.

i prefer pissoing
much nicer

Lullabyloo · 20/10/2007 21:43

my mother is sending me drunken texts & pissoing me off
14 so far

pinkspottywellies · 20/10/2007 21:44

DH can cook but he hates it. He does a mean spag bol and always knows just what to add to make a sauce perfect (bit of seasoning or mustard etc) but I very rarely ask him to because I know he really doesn't enjoy it.

FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2007 21:44

why do you piss them off avi? By beating them at Scrabble?

I have read some Alice Miller - found it a bit depressing really (found it made me feel guilty about how I manage ds). You are the second person to recommend I read that book this year though, so I guess I should try again, thankyou

OP posts:
FrannyandZooey · 20/10/2007 21:45

No I don't emulate Greeny's style

she does punctuation and talks about dead dogs' cocks all the time

I thought pissoing was a S--- word

Lullabyloo · 20/10/2007 21:46

dh thinks the more ingredients he throws into a dish..the better it will taste

pinkspottywellies · 20/10/2007 21:46

My sister lives in Norwich at the mo. Oh how I laugh when she talks like a Norfolker! She used to love taking the mick out of me talking like a Northerner!

FrayedKnot · 20/10/2007 21:46

Ahh Mrs C I will do Norfolk just for you

Lullabyloo · 20/10/2007 21:47

i thought that was Gibbon
