For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

I think Lullaby would have a wonderful website, and her DS could 'moggle' all the food for her!

FrannyandZooey · 11/10/2007 10:12

LOL there could just be pictures of his tummy

"the lunch is inside"

it would make a funny spoof of the site

MrsCarrot · 11/10/2007 10:22

Hello - just popping in to say I got a highly commended in the fringe festival poetry competition. Yay! Just when I was feeling crap about my work.

I am eating lots of fruit and I miss you all.

womblingalong · 11/10/2007 10:33

Yay, you go MrsC. we miss you too!

TooTicky · 11/10/2007 10:36

Hey well done MrsC
Do you get Mslexia?

FK, is it really a no-no? The plumber seemed to think it was okay. It used to be on a separate circuit but that was the dodgy socket. It's now in an ordinary socket (not separate circuit) via a heavy duty extension lead. It's not very bloody efficient anyway and we won't use it once the boiler is back in action.
Do you think we can ask for a reduction in rent for this month?

I have eaten an orange and a small piece of apple. And some toast with peanut butter and fruit spread.

FrannyandZooey · 11/10/2007 10:46

yes fgs ask for a reduction in the rent! he is having a laugh

MrsC wow....would it be really gauche to ask if we could read your poetry?

TooTicky · 11/10/2007 10:51

Sauerkraut I was wondering where you'd gone. Good to have you back.

SauerKraut · 11/10/2007 11:53

Thank ye kindly
Class idea for LL's website! We had one of your breakfasts, today, LL, the vanilla porridge with warm berry compote. You never saw 4 bowls empty so fast!
MrsC, respect.
TT, how do your 4 all get on together? What are the age gaps, if I may be so nosy?

Am about to have a big bowl of veggie soup and some fruit, and pluck up the be-arsed to do some long overdue trombone practice, or I will be in trouble.

TooTicky · 11/10/2007 12:28

Tatties, you are an utter darling I am cuddling that gorgeous wool, drinking tea and thoroughly admiring your beautiful card. Thank you, you have made me

SK, dd1 is 11, ds1 is 8, ds2 is very nearly 6 and dd2 is 2. They do argue, and ds1 is terrible for lashing out when he is angry. Ds2 has started fighting back now but he is much smaller and skinnier. Ds1 sometimes terrorises ds2 or dd1 for fun, which is awful. Ds2 and dd2 have an amazing bond, but do argue sometimes. There are times when they get on incredibly well in pairs - dd1 and ds1, and ds2 with dd2, and occasionally ds1 and ds2. Dd2 gets on with everybody as long as they don't crowd or tease her. Dd1 is v. good with dd2 most of the time and does some fantastic mummying/jollying. Phew! It sounds so confusing with all the ds's and dd's, doesn't it?
Did you get my email btw? I never mind if people haven't replied but I get paranoid about my messages not arriving or getting stuck in spam folders.

SauerKraut · 11/10/2007 12:44

Sorry, yes I did, I should have said. And, of course, I was wildly wrong! I am crap at guessing, ages too.
Yours have much more sensible age gaps than mine. Ours get on in more or less the same way, except that between ds (10 and the oldest) and dd2 (8) there is real acrimony, and I really think they actually don't like each other. Which, I suppose, is probably normal...

TooTicky · 11/10/2007 12:50

That's fine SK.
If ds is your oldest, then you must have a dd1 between 10 and 8?!

I have photos of my dcs on my profile btw and as you are one of my mates you can see them

SauerKraut · 11/10/2007 12:58

Thank you! I have looked straight away, they are gorgeous. They look really happy. I like the face painting one! I really must get my arse in gear with photos and profiles and whathaveyou, only I am still trying to pretend that the computer is for translating purposes only, when dh is around .
Yes, dd1 is 9. The straggler is dd3 who is 5, and has been very much babied, in fact disgracefully so.

TooTicky · 11/10/2007 13:01

It must have been hectic when your oldest 3 were tiny!

SauerKraut · 11/10/2007 13:07

Just a bit. Thousands of nappies, loads of barf and temperatures! Dh was always away too, and we were always moving house. Had some difficult moments, and ds had to grow up fast. Poor thing.
Now, though, it's great, or should I say more mental hard work than physical!
My house is never tidy though...
And the washing pile never seems to shrink either!

TooTicky · 11/10/2007 13:27

Tidy? What's that?

IdrisTheDragon · 11/10/2007 15:43

Hello. My F and V today is not good.

Went to the dentist for round 27 of the "we will sort out Idris's mouth by hook or by crook" this morning. Am working from home. It is all not going well. I am achieving something but not really enough I don't think.

I am all argh-y, if that is any kjind of word.

I also thought there was a thread called Boco and ob closer obversation it is called Pesto .

zippitippitoes · 11/10/2007 17:24

zippitippitoes · 11/10/2007 19:19

have i driven you all over a cliff

FrayedKnot · 11/10/2007 19:22

Evening

TooT I think it might be a bit dangerous and so I think keep an eye on other appliances on the same circuit when it is swithced on and certainly don;t leave it on when you are out of the house or at night, just in case?

I do think you should ask for a refund on some rent (says FK who has failed dismally to get money refunded on two things today)

I have had a stressful day today and feel a bit overwrought. I took fruit to work and ended up not eating it because I didn;t have time then got home in a manic shaky low blood sugar frenzy, and wolfed a pot of hoummous. Have had stir fry for supper.

Boco · 11/10/2007 20:15

Hello

Well done MrsC! Will you let us see? That's great, hope you're getting lots of writing done.

Zippi are you ok? Hope you enjoy climbing. Dp loves climbing. He's going off on his own for a few days as work is stressing him out and it's his release, but slightly nervous as he'll just go off on his own and i'll spend the whole time biting my nails and imagining a scene from touching the void with him having to eat his own shattered leg or something.

But you know, climbing walls are fine.

Had parents evening tonight - was good, love dds teacher she's brilliant. She was very good at listening and finding things to try and writing it all down and coming up with ideas, i came out feeling very positive. Dd doing well and is going from very shy to a giggly cheeky person. I'm pretty pleased with that.

FrannyandZooey · 11/10/2007 20:16

Zippi what are you doing up till 3 am? [fret]

TooT listen to FK
[fret]

I have had stupid day of food, it went wrong after breakfast. Not my fault (mostly)

FrannyandZooey · 11/10/2007 20:17

Hello Boco

are you feeling less pent up?

FrayedKnot · 11/10/2007 20:26

Have we all had crap days f&v-wise?

I think there is something in the air today. Everyone I have come across wants to pick a fight (except you lovely lot) and now I am picking one on the forcefeeding your child thread

Perhaps we all need to go and climb a wall

zippitippitoes · 11/10/2007 20:43

I'm fine I am packing parcels at the moment and looking for videos on you tube except none of the bands i want to find seem to be on there lol

oh just staying up late because i am an addict...i think it is because I am at college and can't use a computer in the day well everything is nannified

zippitippitoes · 11/10/2007 20:44

I have had banans and just had salad and mysuhroom tomatoes red peppers and curry
