For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

BBBee - I retract my advice. You probably should not have a stiff drink. I, however, would.

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:18

Yes do you think so Carrot? I specifically remember do NOT give alcohol for shock. But I am alcohol prude anyway so I would remember that.

MrsCarrot · 05/10/2007 22:20

do you not drink then?

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:23

LOL no

god I feel like I have harped on about it so many times that everyone knows

alcohol problems, have been sober for 5.5 years [proud]

Lullabyloo · 05/10/2007 22:23

oh darling Bee...you poor,poor thing
big big gentle hugs

am so glad you are ok
have you any rescue remedy?

MrsCarrot · 05/10/2007 22:27

yes, you must have rescue remedy, and arnica, BBBee

Franny - that had bypassed me, sorry to hear that, and well done for your abstinence. I thought you were talking about cider at the festival for some reason. I try to only have a drink on fridays and have fizz as a treat, but sometimes it leaks into the rest of the week a bit. Not too much though, am aware of bf.

TooTicky · 05/10/2007 22:29

Bee!!!! I'm so glad you're okay!

ahundredtimes · 05/10/2007 22:29

Bee how terrible. And your terrible burns - but your wonderful collar bones.

Have a cup of tea with three sugars.

God how frightening.

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:32

MrsC yes cider was my drink and the cider bus at the festival was bothering me a bit (well, quite a lot) on the first night. It was ok after that. I hadn't been to a festival sober before It was a new experience.

BBBee · 05/10/2007 22:38

Hmm, that must have been strange, all a perception I suppose. For ages I thought I couldn't go out dancing without any help/plenty to drink but of course this is rubbish. I wonder if it's a physical craving for yeast and sugar as well as the alcohol. The more you have the more the body wants like cake or something. My friend says she tries to think of wine as liquid cake when she's dieting. It does put me off, a bit.

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:43

Buy the lorry driver some crying chocolate, I dare you.

Avi he is also ex-drinker. He does occasionally have a drink, which makes me nervous, but his drinking is not the same as my drinking, I have to remember that.

It was fine, once I relaxed. The first night I didn't think I could hack it - I was so tense, and everything was strange, and there were loads of people smelling of beer and drink everywhere. But the second night it was fine, I loved it, everyone seemed mellow, and it wasn't a very drinky festival anyway, and there were kids everywhere (apparently 1 in 10 tickets sold was a child ticket) and I had a lot of fun.

TooTicky · 05/10/2007 22:44

Presents for people you don't know are so difficult, aren't they? Franny will know. She is good at these things.

Ah. I see. x-post.

TooTicky · 05/10/2007 22:47

Dd2 is still grinning manically on my profile if anybody wants a quick look I forgot to rotate her though.

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:50

Avi it was just such a bad place when we were both drinking. I never never want to risk that again, our life is so comfortable and easy now comparitively. I don't see why he indulges in what I see as behaviour that risks messing that up. He just sees it as a glass of beer. Which is probably why he can have the odd drink and I can't

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:50

TooT she is fab

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:51

comparatively

and umpteen other mistakes

ooh am tired, should go to bed

TooTicky · 05/10/2007 22:52

You can't quite see the toothpaste that was around her mouth and cheeks, on her hands and up her arms...

TooTicky · 05/10/2007 22:54

I have just received a random email encouraging me to train as a plumber. I am strangely almost tempted...

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:54

Was it random? How can you be sure?

Yes. Anyway it hasn't been, so far. He is very good about it, usually. He knows it makes me nervous. His mother being a raving lunatic in rehab probably helps my cause, tbh
