For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

oh yes, I see

no she really shouldn't drink, truly

BBBee · 05/10/2007 21:13

I have loads of bruises and I ache a lot in odd places. My car is all squashed, it was pretty impressive the way it behaved though.

I am being horrible and hoping that the other driving is plagued with dreams and he doesn;t know I didn;t die and it will be like crime and punishment for him.

Boco · 05/10/2007 21:16

Oh Bee that is just awful. I hate that stupid fuckwit driver who could have killed you and just kept driving!! Did anyone see? Are the police going to find them and arrest them and smash up their stupid car?

Inlaws here so i am just sneaking past on my way to regular fake toilet breaks.

thank you all for being nice - I knew you would be nice. Boco I even told the police about your theory test!

I am going to go and call my mum now.

You are all so very lovely.

Sorry for bringing a downer on the thread. Shall I post a photo of my seat belt burn across my chest or is that too weird?

BBBee · 05/10/2007 21:18

x posts boco - no they won;t find him - he sped off inot the dark and lovely lorry man was too preoccupied with getting me out.

I am going to trace lorry driver and buy him a present.

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 21:22

You were so clever, Bee, you saved yourself! Yes post pictures and we will all make suitable noises.

What are you going to do next week - will you be able to get to course? Are you having any time off?

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:07

LOL @ medicinal crisps

brave brave Bee

MrsCarrot · 05/10/2007 22:09

Why no alcohol and why the brandy/shock thing then? Just curious...

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:10

oh, erm

I don't know

I learnt it on a first aid course thingy?

Do you think it might be wrong, shall we google?

FrannyandZombie · 05/10/2007 22:12

I am not coming up with anything absolutely conclusive but this did seem fairly relevant:

"Alcohol (chemical name, ethanol) is a drug that depresses the activity of the central nervous system - in particular, the brain."

Not really the effect you want while you are recovering from an accident I suppose

MrsCarrot · 05/10/2007 22:15

so it stops your brain going through healing/dealing process, as opposed to comfortingly muffling it?
