For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

have been eating less carbs [steroids keep making me into fatima whitbread], but squishy men will do nicely

DS1 has his heart set on a birthday party at home whereas I thought I'd be able to fob him off with the usual play factory thing.

I will have to hire an entertainer, though, because I can't do all that hosting stuff.

It can't be someone who calls themselves Uncle Trev the Magician, though, can it?

What a shame you live so far away.

TaLcYBuRlEsQuE · 10/09/2007 22:10

thanks for having me!

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 22:12

OP posts:
lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:13

He will be six.

Hello, Talcy.

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 22:16

They do all sorts of at home parties now, lionheart

craft things and those rubber swords and makeovers and all sorts

lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:17

That's what I need (oh, and a caterer).

Crafty, calmy things sound good.

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 22:23

I think craft stuff is good

can you not face doing it yourself?

OP posts:
lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:23

It would be bad, Franny, it really would.

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 22:24

PSW! How can you say that the life aquatic was awful? And compare it to lost in boring translation? You must be seriously deranged. jeeez.
He is beautiful and lovely.

lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:28

And squashy.

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 22:30

Boco you can sit next to me. You heart Owen. You will start to like Dancing Matt, soon.

lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:31
Hmm
Boco · 10/09/2007 22:34

I will possibly grow to appreciate Matts charm, but no more than that. But i will always heart Owen.

FrannyandZooey · 10/09/2007 22:35

Can we start a we heart Owen thread and swap pictures and write his name on our pencil cases?

OP posts:
lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:36

And not tell others who are seated elsewhere precisely who you are squirming over?

nappyneeds · 10/09/2007 22:48

I would like to 'join'

have one quick question though - usually when I bulk buy fruit and veg in the weekly shop a lot of it goes to waste as it goes off quickly or i dont get round to chopping it up and eating it. Any tips on avoiding this other than shopping EVERY day?

Boco · 10/09/2007 22:48

Yes, and i might write his name in tipex on my folder - and work out using the letters in our names what percentage we love each other. I can't remember how to do that though.

lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:50

Hello nappyneeds.

Boco · 10/09/2007 22:50

Welcome nappyneeds. We don't really like fruit and veg. Do you like Owen Wilson?

How about buying fruit about every 3 days, from a greengrocer or market stall where they're a bit cheaper and fresher?

lionheart · 10/09/2007 22:51

If nappyneeds goes over to your side you will have a gang.
