For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I'd try the nursery manager then.

FrannylinePankhurst · 12/09/2007 13:53

I am whizzing around, and haven't read the thread properly, but just wanted to say, Idris, I remember I guessed it was that when I saw your first post. I will be around later if I can be of any help

love to everyone

IdrisTheDragon · 12/09/2007 14:40

I have improved .

Just finished having a coaching session with a person from work. She is good at helping me know that I am all right at doing things and helping me with my quest to get promoted at some time (which sounds rather dull but which is actually good for my own self worth type of thing) and anyway she knows a bit about all the stuff that I haven't gone on about here and I told her more and cried but it is All Right.

Might email you some time though Franny - I have your email address from the Important Document (although not bulk cooking).

I am not very productive today. Oh well, I don't think it matters too terribly much.

I am concerend that the sun is going and that the lovely new duvet covers that i put on the washing line (had washed them first) are going to get wet. Although DH may have removed them when he left the house.

I am having a stream of consciousness. Pity I can't apply this to the work I am not doing.

I will find out from DH the hummous recipe. Probably later on though as he might not appreciate me calling him and asking him at work.

I will toddle off soonish I think. And write most of this day off to general Stuff.

Boco · 12/09/2007 14:47

Oh Idris i'm sorry you're sad Talk to us if it helps? A problem vedged is a problem halved i say.

I have shared the boots link with various people and had very different and extreme reactions. They perplex me. Deeply.

My mum took me for lunch with dd2 in a lovely pub by the river and dd climbed trees and collected leaves.

Bee thank you for the lovely card

Boco · 12/09/2007 14:47

And thank you for your poem MrsC

Lullabyloo · 12/09/2007 15:03

mrs c...........great poetry

AllGonePossum · 12/09/2007 15:06

Idris, sorry you're having a tough day (( ))

MrsCarrot, if you use homeopathy, Phytolacca is brilliant for benign breast lumps/blocked ducts when b/feeding. also soapy comb massage - soap up your breast then with a wide toothed comb, comb from under the arm down to the nipple. Also do this while feeding DS, point his chin at the sore bit, even if you have to do it all at a funny angle like kneeling over him -and then do the combing. Every time you remember, also keep combing down with your fingers.

Boco, happy b'day

Toot - I'm really glad your DD1 is making friends, that should balance the academic side of HE so hey presto, no need for school and the daily torture of those nasty girls.

3andnomore · 12/09/2007 15:07

Sounds like a lovely lunch Boco

Idris..oh tehre is no rush wiht teh recipe...just when you have time and are in teh right mood, and all that....!
Really sorry you are feeling low...but glad you were able to talk about it with someone that knows whats going on, and everything.

Well...I have a bloody headache now...from trying to sort that application form out, and now the kids are making such a rackett...I shall leave it for tomorrow morning, when they are out of the house...sigh....
however, I have actually been clever enough now, to put all teh usual info that goes into an application form, like previous employers and their addis and National Insurance number and stuff like that in a file, saved on my PC....so, that will maybe make at least that aprt of it a bit easier..should have done it before...doh!

TnOgu · 12/09/2007 15:08

< Birthday greetings, Boco.>

Boco · 12/09/2007 15:14

I just admitted on another thread to eating a whole bag of birthday haribo sent by a friend. The fizzy kind. I'm spiralling between elation and moodyness. Do you still like me?

Hello Tnogu!

Hello Possum!

pinkspottywellies · 12/09/2007 15:15

Franny!! If you're about can you help me out with you lentil and butternut recipe. I'm new to red lentils! How much would I need with a medium squash and not much other veg (the cupboard is bare!) just measurements in handfuls or whatever, and how much stock and how long to cook the lentil mixture for. [needy]

Thanks!

Tomato, spinach, apple and hour long exercise class. Oh and I might train to be a fitness instructor!

3andnomore · 12/09/2007 15:15

Avi, thank you for your recipe...sounds lovely...but I assume you are not a garlic friend then, lol!
Oh, and where do you get tahini?

ahundredtimes · 12/09/2007 16:44

Boco - foxinsocks says Happy Birthday.

I have been instructed to tell you this.

(She has taken herself off facebook She was my ONE friend. I am now going to de-activate myself.

lionheart · 12/09/2007 17:14

Hello everyone.

LL, so glad you have your grandmother to make things lovely.

Idris, come and talk or munch on cyber veg if it helps. I am sorry you're feeling rough today.

Boco, happy birthday, you shall henceforth have to be known as the 10/10 Muse and we will have

to get Comrade Franny to annoint you in a ceremony and all that.

MsCarrot · 12/09/2007 17:15

I am coming off facebook soon too, just as soon as the most recent friends added have not just been added iyswim. The creepy friend I put off for a while has just sent 'blah blah has rated you, now you can rate them too'

The boots. They are MUCH more casual than I usually wear, in fact last winter I probably would have thought they were like wellies or for people who shuffle. But this is the new me, the grasping at youth me, and anyway it depends on my mood. I have last years brown Campers with a red leather flower on the side which are very smart and look like new so I can always wear those if I get fed up of shuffling.

Thanks, Possum, for the homeopathy tip. Someone else suggested that to me today too. It will have to be the morning now. I can't actually rest my arm against my breast now it's really painful. Luckily I don't feel too bad, last time I felt fluey. I will try th combing thing too.

MsCarrot · 12/09/2007 17:27

tOOT - I had some of that Holland and Barratt Houmous the other day, it does have a weird taste doesn't it. I am quite partial to lemon and coriander but that is always from a supermarket unfortunately. They do a whole range of lovely ones in my grocers though, butter bean, pepper, all kinds, they are made locally I think.

Boco · 12/09/2007 17:43

Why is fox pulling the plug on facebook? Is she still on the run from possible stalkers? Was it me badgering her for personal information? I liked messaging fox.

filthymindedbolshevixen · 12/09/2007 17:52

see this is really why I don't do facebook. This way I can convnce myself that if I did it I wouldn't have time to deal with all the friends I would have. Rather than the sneaking suspicion I would have zero

filthymindedbolshevixen · 12/09/2007 17:53

Pssst lovely lentil-munchers - I need your sensitivity and understanding to help me work out what to say to a mum about a party invite. Please?

thread here

MsCarrot · 12/09/2007 17:54

Boco, what is you boot issue?

ahundredtimes · 12/09/2007 17:58

Oh and MrsC, sorry forgot to sympathise with mastitis. I had it three times with dd. I felt truly, truly awful. Is their snot apparantly. But you probably know this, or you know it's a made up fact, whichever.

Boots. I'm quite taken aback by the boots. I am thinking them through.

Boco - can't remember Foxy's reasons. When you de-activate, as I have just done, you get a fab list of reasons for your desertion. I ticked 'Am finding it socially dramatic'. Perhaps Foxy did too?

lionheart · 12/09/2007 18:08

MrsC sympathy for the pain.
