For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

I like the boots, I think. I think they will be fab on you MsC

I have just eaten a big stir fry with onions, carrots, peppers, green beans, and chard [swoon]

I am going to the gym [determined brow] and I may well do The Plank while I am there. Or I amy not. I couldn't quite find the words to express to my 23 year old male personal trainer, that I was finding The Plank rather a challenge on my pelvic floor

More blackberry and apple crumble later. Did I say I put salt in instead of sugar? And ran it under the tap when I realised? And put in extra sugar just in case you could still taste the salt? It's lovely.

foxinsocks · 12/09/2007 18:24

ahundred, you are a wicked woman. You knew I'd be lurking at some stage so drew me in to the thread .

Boco, I just deactivated as I was considering registering under my real (maiden) name but then work got in the way and I got around to deactivating but not joining again. Am still a bit hesitant as can see 1 mad ex and a few others who'd like a piece of me but may rejoin when I've got a bit of time. I miss that messaging thing too (sob).

oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Hope you have something fun planned for later.

Franny - I'm meant to be reminding you about an update.

ahundredtimes · 12/09/2007 18:25

Here she is, knew she'd come out of the undergrowth.

Oooh. Is there an Update Document?

FrannylinePankhurst · 12/09/2007 18:31

Ah piss orf hundred

I would post it on here but I don't want it searchable if my inlaws ever come on MN for some reason

will email you fox

Boco · 12/09/2007 18:38

Maybe she found it too socially dramatic, with all the fear and the avoiding she had to do.

The issue with the boots. When i first saw them, i was a little taken aback. I just can't work them out. I've thought about them a lot. I just can't come to any kind of conclusion. I emailed the link to two fashionable friends, the first said 'they are fucking vile' (but all her shoes are very pointy) and the other one said they were nice. I need more time.

Boco · 12/09/2007 18:41

oops - that post was a bit out of date - Ok foxy, - so you have several exes who all want a piece of your ass. You just make me more and more intrigued.

MrsC read that back and it sounded rude about your boots, sorry, it's not that i don't like them, - i might even love them, and my friend who hated them wears crazy shoes.

ahundredtimes · 12/09/2007 18:44

I too loved the wanting a piece of me.

Oh dear MrsC. Sorry, your boots have stunned us all. Your boots are wonderful, I was stunned and needed time because I was trying to work out whether I could wear them too.

MsCarrot · 12/09/2007 18:55

"I like the boots, I think. I think they will be fab on you MsC"

Oh no! I am a postgraduate degree... damn this name business

IdrisTheDragon · 12/09/2007 19:02

My children are veru lovely .

DD keeps saying "more mape" which transaltes into "more grape" .

DS is exercising on his bike roudn the kitchen table .

FrannylinePankhurst · 12/09/2007 19:03

oh I was trying to humour you...I wrote MrsC and then Carota and then went back to see what you were calling yourself these days

ahundredtimes · 12/09/2007 19:04

Lets change your name again. I think we should.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/09/2007 19:05

I heart my children .

I also heart grapes. .

I also heart Franny who sent me a nice email .

I heart DH too, but sadly he is not home yet (not so ).

I heart the new duvet covers and pillow cases, which did not get rained on [heart].

BBBee · 12/09/2007 19:09

I am rushing in all out of breath to shout...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOCO!

Hope you are all fine and good.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/09/2007 19:09

I think there should be a [heart] emoticon.

I may suggest it somewhere.

IdrisTheDragon · 12/09/2007 19:12

I also heart DD's hair which has a lovely plait in it. Plait was beautiufully plaited by lovely childminder. I probably heart both the childminders (mother and daughter) as well .

BBBee · 12/09/2007 19:35

oh idris - I hope you are okay and not feeling too bad.

TooTicky · 12/09/2007 19:47

MrsC - at your exotic houmous emporium.

LL - the apple buns are from Cranks, but I have veganised them.
I usually do:
8oz wholemeal SR flour
cinnamon
4oz margarine
2oz sugar
a little soya milk to mix
a couple of nice sharp/cooking apples, diced
Mix dry ingredients, rub in margarine, add apples and enough soya milk to make it stick together. Put spoonfuls on a baking tray and bake at 190c for 20-25m.
Even better if you add blackberries as well.
But dd1 made rock cakes in the end

Have just had stew and dumplings, followed by sticky chocolate sauce pudding but it's curdling a bit because I have just had to field a shitty phone call for dp. Horrid.

MsCarrot · 12/09/2007 19:52

Have you used Oatly cream , Toot? I just used it with a chicken and leek dish, it was quite good.

I could send you some of the houmous, do you think it would survive the post?

pinkspottywellies · 12/09/2007 19:53

Thanks for the apple buns recipe - I only ever make apple crumble with the cooking apples from our garden but they sound nice and easy so I'll try them. I wonder if they'd freeze ok?

TooTicky · 12/09/2007 19:54

No, I've not tried it. But then I never used dairy cream so don't really miss it.

Houmous by post eh? I wonder...
Mind you, when the health food shop did used to sell it, it usually leaked before I'd got it home (5 miles).

TooTicky · 12/09/2007 19:55

Apple pancakes too, with or without blackberries. And apple waffles... can you tell we have apple trees?

FrannylinePankhurst · 12/09/2007 19:56

Could you come and be kind here please? It was too long to put on this thread really but I do want you all to talk to me about it please. Sorry I know it is rather petty, but I am sad about it.

Boco please describe birthday in detail next time you come on

ahundredtimes · 12/09/2007 20:14

Yes, Anne has visited your thread.

Off to watch football with dh now. I promised.

FrannylinePankhurst · 12/09/2007 20:16

Thank you Anne and I am sorry I was not more appreciative of her input

I am wobbly about this, apologies for negativity

ahundredtimes · 12/09/2007 20:31

Oh don't worry. Anne went on to justify herself by explaining that dd2 and dd still get christmas card from their old keyworkers, and so she really isn't quite the horror we all think she is.

Right, football.
