For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

Lullaby...please...do write a cookbook with all those lovely recipes , please, please, please...I have only finished dinner a while back and was, most certainly, not hungry...after reading about your breakie alone, my mouth was watering....

BBBee...hm...my name wiht something cunting...hm....3andNOmorecunting....got a ring to it, eh....lol!

Toot...sounds a busy evening...I suppose that will be me at one point...that is something I feel very sorry about for with es...because of his younger brothers, and bedtimes and things...he misses out on such activities...hopefully tehre will be some good afterschool clubs

roflmao Franny...that is just so apt for that fem. ejac. thread...! And that crumble sounds delicious....hmm.........!

that would be the one Boco...

FMV how about Filthycuntingvixen...lol...

Avi, could that be purple kohlrabi?

like the title Cali!

Anyway....had grapes as a snack at one point, and for dinner had left over vegetables from yesterday and added some tinned tomatoes and red split lentils and Bulgar wheat...was very yummy actually...not as exciting of course, as other people have, but hohum!
reckon I had more the 10 portions to day...wohoo

lionheart · 11/09/2007 20:12

Yoohoo, 100X, I like the bit about stepping on toes, nice touch.

LL yes, you should write a recipe book, that would be great.

Sorry about the kitten.

SauerKraut · 11/09/2007 20:27

Thanking ye all kindly for condolences- the dcs have decided they will have a rabbit instead and avoid the road problem. Dh, dd1, 2 and ds are going to build a hutch. Any tips about rabbit-keeping gratefully received, although we might be in for more tears as Dh reckons he's going to have it with plum sauce when it's fat enough.

Had dates, banana, pear (stolen ), veg soup for tea, bio-dynamic if you please, and a nectarine. Lentils and tomato for lunch, so not far off 10.

ROFL, read CuntingFranny as CuntingFanny! And Filthycuntingvixen is just class.

3andnomore · 11/09/2007 20:30

I used to have some rabbits...dwarf lop eared ones...which, imo make the best pets, as they are clever and more cuddly and also generally have a clamer temperament

If you up to do a real good hutch (well, run with integrated hutch...) I could ask my friend who is actually a real rabbit fan and knows what is to know about them, about a building plan...because it should not just be a little hutch...they need running space...etc...!

BBBee · 11/09/2007 20:32

sk so sorry about your cat. I didnt realise how much I liked mine until I thought he had gone missing.

They are supposed to teach us valuable life lessons but is just crappy really.

SauerKraut · 11/09/2007 20:34

That sounds great, 3, thanks , and ambitious enought to keep them occupied for yonks! Ds had a tool box at his request for his last birthday, so is raring to go.

white beetroot can still be a bit red/pink or have pink rings (bit rude that!)

have you seen cod's post about a strike because of all the boolox going on at the moment?

SauerKraut · 11/09/2007 20:40

Same here, and crap was certainly the word for today, BBB! I almost swore never to have animals again, but to be honest, I can see they get a lot out of it, especially autistic dd1, who can say things to them that she can't to us. They were able to put it into perspective for themselves, too, which cheered me.
As was I, when shamefully reading through some of the other threads this evening...

SauerKraut · 11/09/2007 20:43

Avi, all those beetrooty things are delicious grated raw with carrot and/or kohlrabi, too.

SauerKraut · 11/09/2007 20:43

With pumpkin seeds and olive oil.

BBBee · 11/09/2007 20:44

How is DD1 dealing with it now?

one of Ds's friends is autistic and he spends more time with the cat than ds when he comes round here.

SauerKraut · 11/09/2007 20:47

Luckily we still have the mother, so she is spending a lot of time with her, and just shutting herself into the bathroom at intervals to get away from us. She is an expert in crying in a way that no one notices (except me but I'm meant to pretend I haven't).

BBBee · 11/09/2007 20:49

SK - that is kind of sad but sweet at the same time.

3andnomore · 11/09/2007 20:51

Aww SK....
oh, and e-mailed my friend, and if she doesn't reply I shall call her...and hope she is in..lol!

What threads are you all talking about, and what strike...lol

MrsCarota · 11/09/2007 20:53

Sauerkraut - I think that cuntingfanny was the idea

Franny - I am not normally this flighty in rl, no, it's just that I seem to be having a crisis about approaching thirty. I think I have felt thirty for most of my twenties and now it's looming on the horizon I feel panicked. Gaspy. Omg, youth is gone and I missed it and other such histrionics.

Therefore it's the Mrs part of my name that I want to lose for the mumsy aspect of it, it's grating on me. It's as though there's a round mumsy person in front of me on the screen and she won't get out of my way, she is persistent and keep flaring her skirts in a most annoying way and it's making me edgy.

Take those boots. I asked the man in the shop if I was too old for them. I bought them, showed you the picture of similar ones, then decided maybe I preferred the similar ones and spent all morning ringing shops andmarching to town to change them. Indecisive. Contrary. Fickle. Flighty. That's what I am at the moment and it isn't me at all.

Corona, is that the fizz you're thinking of, Boco?

Now Corona, thats quite a good name...

MrsCarota · 11/09/2007 20:54

Our guinea pig got eaten by a fox

FrannylinePankhurst · 11/09/2007 20:54

MsCarrot?

SauerKraut · 11/09/2007 20:54

Thank you very much! I shall look tomorrow- that's if you don't go on strike! It's a thread started by Cod, 3, suggesting other regular posters should protest about certain generally- disapproved-of threads by not posting at all for one day.

FrannylinePankhurst · 11/09/2007 20:54

or howabout CitizenCarrot bearing in mind current trends?
