For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page.

(forgive me TT I forgot you are HE - is only for one year?)

BBBee · 06/09/2007 23:57

but that means you are a terribly bright adult!

ahundredtimes · 06/09/2007 23:57

Oh okay. Wasn't much of a spat then? Also people kept saying 'lol 100x' and I wanted to shout 'I AM BEING SERIOUS FOR ONCE.'

Right, TT. Okay.

Maternity nurse?

(is that a doulah?)

BBBee · 06/09/2007 23:58

I just said doula - that's it then you have to be a doula!

ahundredtimes · 06/09/2007 23:58

OK. Re-train as something then.

What do you fancy?

BBBee · 06/09/2007 23:59

I think it was nervous calm down laughter - like chimps do to appease each other.

TooTicky · 07/09/2007 00:00

I'm not sure I'm confidence-inspiring enough to be a doula. And I'd be forever saying, "Nah, don't listen to your GP, see a homoeopath instead. I can recommend one..."

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2007 00:01

lol BB @ gurning chimps and mad thumping chest-beating chimp in middle who took exception to a tv programme.

THAT'S IT. WE'VE GOT IT. You're going to be a Homo whatsit.

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2007 00:03

A homeopath.

You can work from home.

Do you need to train, have certificates to be one?

BBBee · 07/09/2007 00:03

no she can;t do that - I think she should be some kind of birth consultant.

TooTicky · 07/09/2007 00:04

I would like to learn Swedish and Russian and German and crochet beautiful things and write stories and maybe illustrate them with clothy sort of pictures, you know, like in some of the barefoot books. And I like growing organic vegetables. And when dd2 goes to school I shall cry as I have had at least 1 small child with me for the last 11 years, day and night. And then maybe I will be a teaching assistant in a reception class unless I have become a published author by then, or maybe even if I have. I like wildlife too.

BBBee · 07/09/2007 00:05

could you write books for children to explain about real life things like birth and bullying and divorce and stuff - we had good ones when I was little but they are outdated now.

TooTicky · 07/09/2007 00:06

Oh yes, several years training to be a proper homoeopath. Actually, my homoeopath is trying to set up an affordable distance learning thing. So I will do that, but it will take time.

BBBee · 07/09/2007 00:07

my cousins partner goes into schools and talks about hte enviroment and sustainabilty nad then he does story telling.

No money in it though!

Could you do a gardening / wildlife club at school? Might start something?

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2007 00:07

Why can't she be a homeopath?

Also - but quite separately TT - does your ds2 have a Sensory Processing Disorder? I don't know why I put that in capitals, it looks rather important and dare I say it, pompous like that.

BBBee · 07/09/2007 00:09

I thought homopath was 3 yrs full time study - but no reason why she couldnt - just a lot of studying.

TooTicky · 07/09/2007 00:09

I have to go to bed now. I was supposed to be washing my hair but I had to sit here and soak up a bit of sanity because it has been One Of Those Days. I will sleep on it all. Night night

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2007 00:09

Oh, x post, sorry.

Yes, a gardening club at school. Small steps, more confidence, I think.

And make beautiful crochet things and sell them with you felt books at the gardeners market in Bath.

BBBee · 07/09/2007 00:10

(100 do you get the impression that was maybe not that helpful?)

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2007 00:11

(Yep. I'm not sure what to suggest. She started whispering, which wasn't a good sign. We got louder, I definitely got more and more Anne like.)

TooTicky · 07/09/2007 00:11

I don't know 100x. Would I know if he did?

BBB, I would love to do wildlife clubs and inspire children but I would need a brave friend to do it with.

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2007 00:12

You'd be amazed what you can do TT. I think.

You'd know because he wouldn't like certain clothes, textures, foods, noise and well, all the things you've mentioned. . . .

TooTicky · 07/09/2007 00:12

I love you both

BBBee · 07/09/2007 00:13

maybe natasha kaplinsky got us too fired up.

ahundredtimes · 07/09/2007 00:13

And we love you.

This is an unorthodox ending to our Careers session, but I like it.

OMG. Look at the time. I must go to bed. I have to drag ds2 out of bed in 7 hours.
