For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information by following the link at the very bottom of the page

The tapas was gorgeous, chorizos, chickpeas, halloumi, potatoes with aioli, tomatoes, my friend also cooked us an outstanding butternut squash risotto, mmmmm...

Boco - We got married in a brewery in Suffolk, it was lovely, very small, but lovely.

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 11:55

was it a piss up then

MrsCarrot · 29/08/2007 11:59

There is a lovely medieval building there with a moat, it wasn't actually IN the brewery

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 12:09

congratulations

I've just sent a completely random email to a man suggesting he meet me

I expect he will react the same as my generally less forward emailees...

and ignore it completely

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 12:10

emailees that i send less forward emails to??

filthymindedvixen · 29/08/2007 12:20

any particular man? Or just someone out of the phone book... Or a taxi driver?

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 12:31

someone off soulmates but then reread his profile and discovered he wants kids so that will be nertner

I just send them virtually randomly as none actually reply so saves investing too much energy..actually i am writing to one who replied but it is very penfriend ish so think he will stop

and t'other who contacted me first is in turkey now and sure he has loads of women he chats too, but he is nice so have chats with him on msn..thpugh the etiquette of that is a mystery to me so i daren't call him up only speak to him if he msns me

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 12:32

I am somewhat bored

well there are loads of things to do but in my bored moments i find random emails a diversion

Hello everyone, welcome Idris (I remember Pizzaland vouchers...), welcome back MrsC.

Yes I have booked my room [nervous] and [excited]

FMV it was a full moon last night, I am glad it is over with tbh because it coincides with my period being due and seems to multiply my PMT.
Zippi I will join you in feeling wiped out and yucky. Do you still knit? I just feel like curling up on the sofa and knitting, but somehow I don't think ds will allow it...

Avi, what do you mean no exercise? What about all the sex and digging?

FrayedKnot, it's great that you are feeling fab and energised! High on fruit and veg

This morning I have had OJ, porridge with sunflower seeds, cashew nuts, flaked almonds
and strawberries, and I have just eaten some peanut butter on toast and a few squares of Maya Gold. Doing better on the superfood side of things... Oh last night I made this and it was lovely, looking forward to having the leftovers tonight

All the meeting partners stories are great! Surprise, surprise, I met dp on a night out not long after I started Uni (he had just finished). Apparently I sidled up beside him and he asked me if I wanted to dance. I complained that the dj wasn't playing any of my requests so dp went up to him and got him to play this ... how could I resist?

I am still upset about having lost my ring... does anyone here have psychic abilities? I have also lost the drawstring bag for my Mooncup - obviously not quite so upset about that but it is bugging me.

filthymindedvixen · 29/08/2007 12:49

oh Ttatties, how apt is that song

Tatties · 29/08/2007 12:50

OMG FMV!!!! You lucky lucky thing That's fantastic! Can you tell I'm excited for you?!

zippitippitoes · 29/08/2007 12:52

I thought pizzaland died many years ago..how could you have met there? didn't they used to do terrible thin pizzas? or am i thinking of somewhere else..there used to be one on one of those projecting corners in brighton before pizza hut and places arived and wimpy still existed

Tatties · 29/08/2007 12:55

Oh yes FMV, dp isn't daft

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 13:06

There is a pizzaland opposite pizzahut on our high street. One is green and one is red. We go to Pizza Express.

Tatties · 29/08/2007 13:08

We are Pizza Express fans too

Guadalupe · 29/08/2007 13:09

DH and I did meet nearly 13 years ago, so Pizzaland may well have died since then . We also like Pizza Express now.

I might read the middle of the thread and find out when and where you are all meeting. I am a shy retiring violet and so will man the thread while you meet each other in real life .

Lullabyloo · 29/08/2007 14:04

fmv.... that is fantabulous....oh well done you

have had a quiet morning as non too much sleep & v.long unexpected call from my mother earlier which sent me off kilter somewhat.

Have made a huge vat of roasted veg & basil sauce to freeze for cous cous, pasta, pizza etc & a v.nice no sugar carrot cake.

Have had cherry compote,yoghurt,toasted oats,almonds & pineapple,passionfruit,mango smoothie.
Warm lentil, ginger, garlic salad with lots of spinach, rocket & watercress.

Did anyone watch Jamie last night? Some of his bean dishes looked delicious.....I want to grow beautiful borlotti beans

Does anyone have (and actually use) an ice cream maker?
I have always hankered after one & think i may have to splurge....sorbets are my weakness...think ds would have lots of fun inventing flavours...need advice on which to go for though.

My Toast coat came this morning.....i'm in love....it's all twirly & swishy & glorious...

IdrisTheDragon · 29/08/2007 14:15

Have just avoided doing any useful work and finished reading this thread, which is obviously More Useful anyway.

And have the dilemma of whether to eat chocolate or fruit. Maybe both. Looking at the superfoods list;

beans, beetroot, blueberries, broccoli, oats, oranges, pumpkin, soya, spinach, tomatoes, walnuts, yogurt, apples, kiwis, avocado, dark chocolate, bananas, cabbage, carrots, flax seeds, garlic, onions, sweet potatoes, olives and olive oil, pomegranates, quinoa, and nuts and seeds in general.

if the chocolate were dark and I ate a banana that might be OK. Also there was some walnut in a sandiwch at lunch.

Really should look at the size of portion thing though as I am probably eating a portion intended for a very small doll.

Lullabyloo · 29/08/2007 14:41

I met dh 14 yrs ago when I was nannying in Chelsea....I wanted to go to a friends summer solstace party in Devon but couldn't afford the train fare & partner of the time would not drive down from Devon to pick me up
A friend suggested ringing a chap who was a mutual friend of friends having party -he lived in London & was driving down.....I was too shy...but he called me & even knew who I was....described me to a tee
Anyhow....he turned up as promised & having had a break in recently at the house...asked him for help in locking all the newly fitted iron grilles on windows & doors....he came in,we chatted, drank coffee etc etc..45 mins later we emerged outside & I see v.grumpy looking woman in his car.I whisper'who is that?' 'My girlfriend' says he
Ho hum.....anyway...she sits in the back all the journey because of her swollen ankles & we chat non stop...he was very lighthearted & funny & unlike my partner (very studious, sensible & serious). The journey zoomed by.
He dropped me at my partner's house & went on his way.
We met at the party later & he kidnapped me for a walk in the woods.........
On leaving Devon,I had to work in Ireland for six weeks,v.cut off in a castle with just the little ones, dogs & horses for company...he rang everyday
On returning to London he persued me endlessly with invites to dinner, exhibitions, parties & wrote me long letters...he was a social animal & had hundreds of friends........it took a year....but eventually he won me over.
