onlyjoking9329 · 10/08/2007 23:48

today i am in shock and a bit angry, but my big worry is the kids, what/how do i tell three kids with autism what is happening?
oh shit this is all too hard dealing with all the thoughts/feelings and stuff, then all the treatment and planning childcare for my lot. it would be much easier if they were at school.

it's a rubbishy old cliche but try and save yourself the stress of seeing the whole future at once right now and just think very short term, one day at a time, for the time being

hunkermunker · 11/08/2007 00:29

Oh, OJ I'm so sorry. Is there anything practical MNers can do to help?

onlyjoking9329 · 11/08/2007 00:31

my mind is wandering, i can;t stop worrying for steve and the kids.
i wish there was something i could do.

OP posts:
Aitch · 11/08/2007 00:52

i wish too, OJ. are you sure there's nothing we can do to relieve the burden even a wee bit?

mamama · 11/08/2007 01:17

robinpud · 11/08/2007 03:47

So terribly sorry to hear this OJ..

Is there a local support group for children with autism- are you anywhere near Sutherland House and the support they can offer in terms of talking to the children?

I seem to remember MB having been advised to answer the children's questions honestly rather than give them huge amounts of info they couldn't deal with, but someone may correct me.

slim22 · 11/08/2007 04:38

so sorry
