imaginaryfriend · 29/08/2007 21:51

I hope you're having a super, romantic time OJ.

onlyjoking9329 · 30/08/2007 19:22

Thanks, we had a lovely time (see new photos on profile) Steve is shattered now and is in bed.
we are at hospital in the morning, fingers crossed that the swelling has gone down enough for them to make the head mould, he needs this doing before he can start the Radiotherapy & chemo.

So glad you had a lovely time.

it will do you both some good to plan a few

trips away when you can. Lovely photos.

I wish you luck for tomorrow and i will pop

in tomorrow to see how it went.

onlyjoking9329 · 30/08/2007 22:07

i am hoping to book a balloon flight but can't book anything yet.
i think it will be nice for him to have something to plan for and focus on whilst he is doing the treatment.
Steve is dreading the hospital trip tomorrow as he always seems to get bad news when he goes.

Furball · 30/08/2007 22:13

glad you were able to go OJ and that you both had a good time.

Hope tomorrow goes as best as possible, will be thinking of you both.

fransmom · 30/08/2007 22:16

fingers crossed for tomorrow oj and steve xxxx

onlyjoking9329 · 30/08/2007 22:26

Thanks, hoping tomorrow will be ok, Steve feels much worse these days, he is ,much more forgetful and confused.
whilst we were having our meal last night at the hotel steve told me i couldn't drink as i needed to drive home later. i told him we were staying overnight at the hotel but a few minutes later he was saying the same thing.

OP posts:
Furball · 30/08/2007 22:33

I myself have had brain surgery about 10 years ago for a burst aneurysm and had bouts of forgetfulness and other 'funny' events that others would say was confusion, but to me were perfectly logical. It went on for a months afterwards. So maybe thats why Steve is abit like that? Afterall they have been rattling around in there.

fransmom · 30/08/2007 22:39

i not had brain surgery but would imagine that it can take a while to recover from the effects x

onlyjoking9329 · 30/08/2007 22:46

he had the memory loss and confusion before his Op, he has got much worse over the last week thou

OP posts:
fransmom · 30/08/2007 22:49

ah. am not sure what to say sorry cnai ask if that is part of his illness?

onlyjoking9329 · 30/08/2007 22:53

it's always been a bit complicated as we were told that it might be to do with his MS, but they are now saying it is permanant due to location of tumour

OP posts:
fransmom · 30/08/2007 22:56

oh gawd.

fransmom · 30/08/2007 22:57

i might not be much help but am a good listener

onlyjoking9329 · 30/08/2007 22:59

it helps just having someone around, i am usually on my own every evening and thats when it really hits home how hard this all is

OP posts:
fransmom · 30/08/2007 23:01

(((((((((((((((oj)))))))))))))))

have you been abble to contact macmillan or is steve not willing to talk to them? i really think that you can do with some extra help and support in the evenings (unless that cuts into mn time )

onlyjoking9329 · 30/08/2007 23:03

MN is my lifeline in the evenings.
the kids are at grans again tonight, i so miss them, thou i do not miss elliot waking us up at 4am
