Fat belly? No. Ovarian Cancer Belly (part 3) still going!

TwitterQueen1 · 25/07/2019 13:10

This is the story of my ovarian cancer discovery and treatment from March 2017 to now. I hope it proves informative / interesting / thoughtful ... and most of all, perhaps make someone think 'actually I need to go the doctor about this and not just assume I've got a pelvic floor / weight problem'.

I am not having treatment - I was on an early phase trial with olaparib and cedirinab, which was going well but the doctors discovered brain mets in May, and after targeted radiotherapy there's not much else they can do.

I'm recently home after 3 weeks in hospital with pneumonia and sepsis so I cannot promise any exciting tales (except falling over). I moan a lot about steroid-induced diabetes.

Happy to hear any terrible (or good) jokes, rants, raves, anecdotes. I was/am a woolly hugger but can't do anything right now.

Here is part 1

Pistey here, I will be going if anyone would like company, Knots and I thought the world of TQ, she was an extraordinary soul and we were very lucky to know her.

BIWI · 05/09/2019 18:42

I would love to come, (IYSWIM), but unfortunately I have some freelance work that day Sad

endofthelinefinally · 05/09/2019 18:47

I am so sad to hear of TwitterQueen's passing.
She was so kind to think of me and posted on my bereavement thread.
Such a lovely person. My thoughts go out to her family.

Sending lots of love to TQ family. Such a sad loss.

UnholyStramash · 05/09/2019 21:47

I’m too far away to go to QT’s memorial but i’ll donate to the OC charity - and I’ll think of her and her girls when I watch Bohemian Rhapsody. We’re similar ages and I remember Madeleine saying she’d been to the cinema. I got the dvd but haven’t watched it yet.

ElsieBobo · 05/09/2019 23:03

Does anyone know if there is a just giving page set up to provide a little support cushion to TQs daughters? Please share details of so.

diege · 08/09/2019 17:23

I'm sadly too far away geographically for the service, but have made a donation.

peapod66 · 08/09/2019 18:36

Have also donated in TQs memory. Thank you to her DDs for letting us know where to make donations xx

heveranne · 08/09/2019 19:00

Thank you for letting us know the arrangements. Sadly I'm away so I can't be there. I'll make a donation and I hope it is a lovely celebration of your mum x

Lisette1940 · 18/09/2019 09:30

So very sorry to hear this. X

KnottyAndPistey · 19/09/2019 09:33

The Woolly Hugs community have made their own tribute to TQ after there was the suggestion to bring flowers, it is small and can be broken up for her daughters, it certainly has love in every stitch. Think there will be many many people feeling the same, she was one of us, and we were truly blessed to have known her.

I am going today , wearing a frock with bright red flowers on if anyone is going and wants to sit with someone or just say hello.

Think of her beautiful girls and the wonderful TQ at 12 xxx

Thank you, Knotty, for the photograph of those beautiful flowers. I’m sorry I can’t be with you today but I have been thinking of everyone gathered together in remembering the wonderful Madeleine x

Lisette1940 · 19/09/2019 15:40

I was thinking of Madeleine at 12 today. What a wonderful person. A beautiful woolly hug too. X

Wintersnowdrop · 19/09/2019 18:15

Just posting to say I attended the thanksgiving service for TQ's life today. It was held in a very large parish church, and the church was full. Her 3 DD's spoke wonderfully about her (and it was because DD1 mentioned she was on MN as "TQ" that I am posting this - I did not know she was on MN before today). We were friends and neighbours for many years and she was every bit as great in RL as she was on the boards. You'll be missed Madeline.

Dulcedelecherocks · 19/09/2019 19:37

It still amazes me how she kept her whole MN world private. She was such a frequent poster and ever so helpful and caring, and helped all of us when we each got the big C diagnosis.
I met her at Leslie's funeral and unfortunate I wasn't able to be there today. But the lacies were represented and I know it was a beautiful send off.
We still have her (as we do Leslie and purple) on our fb group. And we miss them every day
RIP my friend.

KnottyAndPistey · 14/11/2019 13:38

After all her support for so many others through Woolly Hugs it is only fitting that we make blankets for her three beautiful daughters. We are so glad they have accepted our offer.

Our thread is just underway over here.. if anyone would like to join us xxxx

Fourmagpies · 20/12/2019 19:31

I can't believe I haven't checked in on TQ for so long that she's no longer here. I've followed her posts about the cancer since the beginning but haven't been on MN as much in the last few months. It all looked so hopeful for a while. Sending love to her daughters.
