Fat belly? No. Ovarian Cancer Belly (part 3) still going!

TwitterQueen1 · 25/07/2019 13:10

This is the story of my ovarian cancer discovery and treatment from March 2017 to now. I hope it proves informative / interesting / thoughtful ... and most of all, perhaps make someone think 'actually I need to go the doctor about this and not just assume I've got a pelvic floor / weight problem'.

I am not having treatment - I was on an early phase trial with olaparib and cedirinab, which was going well but the doctors discovered brain mets in May, and after targeted radiotherapy there's not much else they can do.

I'm recently home after 3 weeks in hospital with pneumonia and sepsis so I cannot promise any exciting tales (except falling over). I moan a lot about steroid-induced diabetes.

Happy to hear any terrible (or good) jokes, rants, raves, anecdotes. I was/am a woolly hugger but can't do anything right now.

Here is part 1

So sad- have followed TQ's story right from the beginning.

Thinking of her family.

Take care. X

SugarHockeyIcedTea · 20/08/2019 22:36

Rest well TQ.

I remember your first posts and followed you since. Your wit, bravery, obvious love for your children and general TQ-ness will be sorely missed.

You did good. You were strong. You encourages others to get checked when they were fearful of being dismissed by their medics staff.

I'm so very sorry to your family and friends.

Thanks
surreygirl · 20/08/2019 22:42

So sad to hear this. We chatted a number of times about living in Newcastle - she told me she went to teacher training college up here and how happy she was here. And also when Lesley and Purple Unicorn died. I really wanted things to be different for Madeleine. Condolences to her girls - who she loved so much.

Thinking of TQ and all who love herFlowers

Wehttam · 21/08/2019 01:45

She was marvellous, please make sure everyone that knows her in real life is aware of how much she meant to so many on here. If there is a just giving page for a charity or funeral costs please post it here, I would like to donate.

Her DD’s must be so proud of her. Beating cancer isn’t always about surviving it’s about never letting it get the better of you. Their mother beat cancer. X

Bloodybridget · 21/08/2019 06:49

I am so very sad to see this. Wishing comfort and strength to TQ's beloved DDs and all her friends and family. TQ responded quickly to my post on MN when I first got a warning of ovarian cancer, and continued to be so kind and supportive. I hope her spirit is riding under the stars.

Our 4th loss in the lacies in as many months. We are all a bit lost now without our pack leaders.
Rest in peace Madeleine. I was lucky to have met you and seen your beautiful smile.
