Fat belly? No. Ovarian Cancer Belly (part 3) still going!

This is the story of my ovarian cancer discovery and treatment from March 2017 to now. I hope it proves informative / interesting / thoughtful ... and most of all, perhaps make someone think 'actually I need to go the doctor about this and not just assume I've got a pelvic floor / weight problem'.

I am not having treatment - I was on an early phase trial with olaparib and cedirinab, which was going well but the doctors discovered brain mets in May, and after targeted radiotherapy there's not much else they can do.

I'm recently home after 3 weeks in hospital with pneumonia and sepsis so I cannot promise any exciting tales (except falling over). I moan a lot about steroid-induced diabetes.

Happy to hear any terrible (or good) jokes, rants, raves, anecdotes. I was/am a woolly hugger but can't do anything right now.

Thank you Shelovesmilktray and I too am sending my profound condolences to you and the lovely Madeleine’s daughters. I will miss her feisty and intelligent comments. Such a special and selfless, kind and brave woman. She touched us all.

Oh no, I am so sad to read this. I followed TQ’s threads from the first one but seemed to lose the last one somehow. But I had still thought I saw her around and that she was ok. I’m so sad to see this news.

TQ gave so much of herself to the lacies thread with love, a hand hold and a gentle shake of reassurance, often with a wit that was inclusive and engaging. She hoped her own threads would provide a needed kick up the bum to anyone experiencing similar symptoms..
She was much loved and admired.. and will be greatly missed here and in real life.

I hadn't met TQ in real life but we chatted on various threads and FB and she was a fellow WHugger. She was such an inspiration in so many ways.
