Ds has to have a biopsy tomorrow and this is one of the possibilities. He is only 14 months and apart from 3 lumps in his jowls seems totally fine.

what is a magnet board? Is it not a fridge with magnets on??? We have cheesey family photos in magnetic frames on fridge, he pulls them down and kisses his nanny.

you can get these books with magnets in (like say Sleeping Beauty - the magnets are the characters and you move them around the page). Cannot remember where we found one (used it when dd was in hospital - very handy). Not sure he is too young for it.

Good luck for the biopsy. It's all sounding a little bit more optimistic (fingers crossed)!

coddy · 18/07/2007 11:46

ah no you havent lived then

FoghornLeghorn · 18/07/2007 11:52

Only just seen this shopping. Glad you are feeling more confident with things and that there are lots of positive stories here should DS be diagnosed with NHL.

Please keep us posted and good luck next week - I will have my fingers crossed for you

So today the first lump (golf ball sized and 2 weeks old) looks like a huge purple boil. They asked each time we'd been to hospital if the skin was discoloured and it wasn't particularly til today. Will ring and tell them tomorrow but can't find it as a symptom for hodgkins or non hodgkins so am wondering if it's a good sign. Any ideas? did the people you know who had it get this purple colour on the lump? Thanks for ongoing support, it is soooooooo appreciated

My first DH had Non-Hodgkins, there was no discolouration and the doc said if you are going to get a cancer lymphoma is the one to have as it is so curable

deaconblue · 18/07/2007 19:08

all good so far then. Our doctor said the same, the websites say it is the most curable too.

BBBBasilisk · 18/07/2007 19:09

Have only just read this - the positive stories are good to read and I hope you get some reassuring news soon.

BBBBasilisk · 18/07/2007 19:18

got it - will pop in post tomorrow. Oxofrd post bit crappy at the minute - strikes and the such but shouldn't take long.

deaconblue · 19/07/2007 10:58

Have phoned Addenbrooks about the red/purple colour of the first lump and the 2nd lump is starting to go red this morning. Have to take him there this afternoon for them to have a look. No idea if this is a positive or negative symptom but at least will know more today.

Pinkchampagne · 19/07/2007 15:51

Wishing you lots of luck, shopping, hope you get some reassuring news soon.x

BBBBasilisk · 19/07/2007 16:31

that's good news.

Hope anitbiotics kick in quick.

MadEyemarthamooDy · 19/07/2007 17:41

That sounds like good news - hope it's confirmed soon. Thanks, cod.

deaconblue · 19/07/2007 21:41

the doctor actually said it was a good thing and that lymphoma doesn't behave like this. He can't rule it out totally until after the biopsy because of the previous symptoms but it is looking much much better. We should see some reduction in the lumps once the new stronger anti biotics kick in. So we haven't got the all clear yet but hopefully it won't be long. thank you all so much for your support

I hope the biopsy confirms that it isn't NHL - it all sounds extremely positive. You have been through the wringer though...much sympathy.
