Hi Folks - this thread continues from a v long previous thread... a few of us are desperately trying to kick the evil weed and will do it this time! A new thread, a new start! Let's help and support each other, splurge out those frustrations here.

Personally I feel like if I don't do it this time I am gonna take charliecat' suggestion and knock myself out with a hammer.

Come on girls - we know it' crap, and we feel so awful sneaking back in and our kids being near us and having honkng breath (us, that is...)
Let's do it this time, am am committed to this...

Oh cc just get an early night if you can and rest that foot, neighbour stuff sounds horrible, but you've done brilliantly over this past month, a woman of cast iron determination!!

come on - you've kept feeding us all those pearls of wisdom and kept us going... YOU ARE BRILLIANT AND YOU CAN DO THIS!!
am knacked so am gonna say night night xxx PS if you hadn't stopped you would have smoked around 900 fags last month.

minkmama · 06/09/2004 23:02

LOL cc, what a situation to be in! HOW do you know he's bidding on rude stuff and how can i bid for them?

Nevermind, just update us asap! hope you're okay by tomorrow!!

i have smoked on the bog fg, but not in the bath as it interfered with my smelly oils. i know this is a bit rude, but didn't you find that a fag helped with the bog business?!! haven't done it for a while (fag on the bog that is) as house is strictly NO SMOKING due to dh which i don't mind anyway.

chamomile tea sounds nice might go and make myself one too...see you guys tomorrow and well done today!

p.s. i live 10mins from ikea so tallying up the amount of visits i make by how much i spend there is too frightening to calculate. my house IS ikea

charliecat · 07/09/2004 07:42

What a night, he, on MSN messenger, instant chat, asked what I was selling on ebay, I send him a link to a book I was selling, he bid on it and so I then had his ebay ID. If youve got someones ebay id you can see what they have been bidding on/selling/buying.
So I clicked on his feedback, hed brought something PRIVATE so I clicked on the seller hed brought this thing from and sent him a link for a pair of adult incontinence pants...with FRILLS and said lol have you been buying these...
Well then I looked at what hed been bidding on...it got worse than frilly knickers.
So he went looby thinking in the space on 2 mins I had hacked his Ebay account, not to forget its Monday and they are on the dole and its payday for them and they are pissheads...
Hes got a severe dose of paranioa anyway ...and he had brought these frilly knickers id sent him a link to.
OMG You really couldnt make it up.
I want an apology today for coming on my door shouting and he'll probably be even more annoyed when I show him what I did do...without hacking his account. Wouldnt like me to be seen smarter than him...lol
Well had 3 fags over this but back on track totally today..

fionagib · 07/09/2004 09:29

Now my mind is working overtime trying to figure out what the other items might be!!!!

3 fags, well, shove it behind you now cc (so to speak!) and start a nice fresh-air lunged day!! Come on, you cannot fall back into an ashtray after your massive eforts this past month!

Hope you're having a good day mm, how you doing midden and woodpops?

lovely sunny day here, feeling v motivated, not wanting a ciggie one, bit, honest, but got rid of dh's butts in the big outside bin, just to make sure...

have a good day girls, will check in later xxx ps no booze OR fags last night, just camomile tea... what's going on?!

OP posts:
woodpops · 07/09/2004 09:46

Just a little blip cc, we all have them. Today's a new day, keep up all the good work you've done so well. I'm on 10 days today. Yay

fionagib · 07/09/2004 12:03

girls I have to sound off.

grrrrrr!

cc and mm have heard about that neighbour who's always palming off her kids on me. I am due to have hers 7.15 am on thur, and also for tea after school that day, as she has to go somewhere... whic is all arranged and fine. but her boy shows up this a.m. at 7. 15 a/m. - this is tue, right?? - without his mum, just buzzing our bell, needing his breakfast. His mother didn't even check with me whether this was ok!! who would ever dump their kids without first asking??? at 7.15 in morning?

I never usually say anything, just get quietly pissed off, but am really seething over this (even tho the boy is v nice and no trouble) and just feel taken for granted and - as I think you have said cc - shat on from a great height!

(ps they live v near so he was able to walk to our house by himself). What if our doorbell hadn't worked which it usually doesn't?!

am I over reacting girls?

(don't need a fag, not even craving, just wondered what you'd do).

OP posts:
fionagib · 07/09/2004 12:12

oh yeah mm I did find that smoking helped with bog business and when you stop there's a kinda, er, clogging up that goes on...

gawd, was sweating last night, vile, like a pig - dh went to give me a cuddle but went, ew, and backed away.

OP posts:
minkmama · 07/09/2004 12:35

i AM here fg, just another ds2 clingy day and having difficulty typing! what a neighbour! i would have a serious talk with her and mention the fact that since it was not the day arranged, you may have had other plans, that if she or her kid want to come round, they need to ask in advance! you've got work to do, and children to look after - tell her it's just not on! Ask her round for a cup of tea and whilst the kids are off playing take her aside and tell her that there's something you need to clear up.

what does dh think?

i think that it's totally irresponsible. what normal person would do stuff like this? i don't understand!!

CC, YOUR neighbour story is so odd!!! PLEASE tell us what he was bidding on!!!! are you at work today? how can you walk? didn't you say that tanya had to go to hospital for a check up or am i mad?

Hi Woodpops, well done!! 10 days is GOOD...i'm on day TWO

charliecat · 07/09/2004 13:41

Hello FG and MM and WG...yes ive been at nursery today, good day there. Did have fag this morning at 7.55am while clearing up things with next doors girlfriend but am not even going to count it.
It was early. LOL!
Tanya is at hospital as we speak, shes been there since 11.30 shes with my mum, they are taking a blood test they think its asthma:(
Regarding your neighbour, at that time in the morning I wouldnt have even answered the door!!!!!!!!
But i would say to her, wasnt this meant to be thurs not today? Please tell me you havent screwed up days BTW which is something I would easily do..
Bog Business, fags give me the runs..no more to say anything else!
Adult sized high chair, a yard of terry towelling....

charliecat · 07/09/2004 13:44

WP well done 10 days...really your beating all of us!!!

fionagib · 07/09/2004 14:58

Glad your first day back went okay cc.. so sorry to hear about asthma... did you suspect this or is it a horrible shock? Do you think they sometimes diagnose asthma and it turns out that it's not? Sam was diagnosed with it - in hosp for 3 days, aged 20 months, just before we moved from London - no lung or repiratory probs since then, he's def not asthmatic. He was wheezy but it was something he grew out of when we moved up here. Good luck with it all cc.

thanks for advice girls, will have a word like you suggest. Must stop being such a soft idiot!

You're right - the early fag did not count - and I didn't even know that adult sized high chairs existed!!!! What an image that conjurs up!

have to run to school now, will check in later as am gonna get kids out in lovely sunshine then lads to beavers then slap my neighbour with a wet fish... xxx

charliecat · 07/09/2004 16:05

Tonight I will be enduring 90 or so mins of A.C on video had 2 fags today actually 3 if you count this mornings. Not happy at all with myself and want to cry with my foot, Tanya and everything...
Big Sigh.
The doctor said it might be asthma, but you know how you think it wont happen to you/your child...Silly me.
She fine though, if she is asthmatic then shes not that bad. I dont think, the x ray of her lungs was better so thats a plus point i guess.
Let us know how it went with the neighbour, thats the sort of thing that happens once or twice and then the neighbour decides it a permanet thing and your left thinking how on earth did I get sucked into this. Get it sorted quick!!!
Heres a giggle for you, at a crossroads, mum in the driving seat, young boy racer cuts of where she wants to go, too musc traffic south east england bla bla...big space behind him. Couple of minutes go by, mum sticks her head out the window and says "Do you know how to reverse?" Boy Racer mutters to himself but doesnt, so as the traffic starts to move she says "You should get that acne sorted out you know"
OMG I did laugh though

woodpops · 07/09/2004 16:46

It may be 10 days today but what a cr@p day I'm having. Want to crawl into a hole and cry, you know the feeling.

CC, living with asthma isn't a problem. I have acute brittle asthma (and I smoked, how stupid am I??) and have had all my life. I've never found it a problem coping with it. It's other people that panic. THe worst thing you can do though is hit someone on the back when they're having an asthma attack, the amount of people that do it. Try telling someone to f**k off from hitting you when you can't get your breath, it's impossible so I end up throwing my arms around like a pillock. I expect it looks quite comical!!!!

charliecat · 07/09/2004 20:49

Thank You for that top tip Woodpops, i will log in in my brain for future reference...amusing picture in my head though!!!!
Howseveryone? Im doing shite...was doing fine and gutted the whole of my kitchen as since I hurt my foot ive let the housework slip and it was a big bombsite area and I couldnt bear the thought of everyroom being a tip so I did just one. All the time thinking, I will not have another fag..bla bla pep talks to myself.
Dd hates school, the mixing part of it, and so throws temper tantrums until she resigns herself to the fact this is it...day in day out...till the next half term. Well I took her tantrun as an excuse to tap a fag off the neighbour, then when dp came in a couple of hours later I had another and Ive just tapped another one, of which I have half left.
Going to endure Allen and take a mallet with me tommorow.
Hope you guys are doing better.xx

charliecat · 07/09/2004 20:51

Oh....and selfish rant there, are you ok WP, is is hormonal or just a shitty day or lack of fags or what thats got to you?

minkmama · 07/09/2004 21:11

Hi all. CC and WP how are you feeling now, any better? I'm sorry to hear about TAnya cc, i know what it's like when something is up with your child, it's heartbreaking isn't it? You get through it though and remember, it def isn't the worst thing she could have and she's a happy healthy child apart from that! Hopefully it will be like fg and not serious at all. asthma and eczema are so common these days, i think every other person has it! Just remember to vent all your worries and upsets out on us, that's what we're here for.

how are you fg, good day? you're sooo active with the kids, it's amazing! i'm still in those early years/months where i can only summon up energy to look after them!

have had a beer now and am feeling relaxed. will have a bath soon and early night. i've been on ebay and pc for a week until 2-3am every night, what a loony!! if i don't join in later, have a good night and hope tomorrow is brighter for all of us

minkmama · 07/09/2004 21:11

p.s. there is no such thing as a selfish rant here cc...

charliecat · 07/09/2004 21:14

Big nutter staying up till that time MM! My kids are nearly 4 and 7 and I still have only the energy to ferry them from A-B making sure they are fed and watered regularly...FGs a Gazelle remember..thats why shes out and about!

minkmama · 07/09/2004 21:35

Yeah i know

charliecat · 07/09/2004 21:54

What time do your littlies settle down and get up or is it just a bleary night up and down with them so time has no real meaning? I remember that so well...
BTW just gonna go view Mr Carr

minkmama · 07/09/2004 22:07

ds2 settles by 8 and ds1 by 9.30 and then lovely dh does the night feeds for both (!) if i did it i think i would collapse. what a bad mother/wife . or a clever one. you decide .

minkmama · 07/09/2004 22:08

am now turning pc off otherwise no early night for me!!! night night all (or just cc it seems )!

charliecat · 07/09/2004 22:10

Well now youve explained how you look so fresh faced and youthful...youll look even more stunning tommorow after your beauty sleep then! Night Night
BTW We should book in a time when we all gather here for a natter at some point..instead of this passing at odd times thing!

fionagib · 07/09/2004 22:22

Yeah that would be nice cc, a natter when we know each other is there - sorry to hear you've had cruddy day girls, me too, don't seem to be getting on v well with sam at the mo - he is intent on winding me up, cheeking me, pulling his brother's pants down in park, showing me up at any opportunity... we are in a bit of a vicious circle of cheek and naughtiness and telling off which looks like this

girls the only reason I'm forever barging the kids out the house for bike rides etc is to stop the fighting in here! They'd much rather be left in peace at home with their playstation, lego & beano annuals. I am such a control freak. dh says I always have a ruddy schedule.

been out for a half hour run tonight just up & down town as it's a bit creepy going down any quite lanes, feel better for it, tho did come back & have one puff!

come on girls, let's be all strong & sorted tomorrow - mm am amazed at how late you can stay up, I LOVE to do that - it's like your own private world isn't it, with everyone asleep - but would be a quivering heap... guess you have youth on your side!!

night night all xxx

OP posts:
minkmama · 07/09/2004 23:16

Fg, that's EXACTLY why i stay up that late...my time out doesn't start till 9.30 and it takes a couple of hours to wind down to begin with! that's kind of why i smoked, at least then you got 10mins of self-indulgence whether or not hte kids were awake. will have to find some other way from now on tho!!

cc, if you think i'm beautiful from all that sleep, you should take a look at how ugly dh really is...
