For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information if you follow the link at the very bottom of the page

Hello to everybody
MrsC, this rather nice shop is in Bath (£6 return on the bus so don't go too often)
Lullabyloo I am thoroughly of all your delicious meals!

filthymindedvixen · 19/06/2007 19:01

lullabyloo - you are putting me to shame!

todayhave had porrige and fruit for brekkie and banana. Lunch was watercress, carrot and hummous sandwich and fresh apricots, with apple and mago juice.
Dinner is moroccan chicken (with aubergine, mushrooms, peppers, onion) and cous cous.

Mrscarrot · 19/06/2007 19:46

sounds like everyone has had a fairly good day but I think you might be the star of the show, Lullaby

I love vegi sushi, in fact I eat it maybe three times a week but I hardly ever make it.

Pret do a good one, but I bring it home and use tamari instead of soy, although, and I hardly day say it in case you confirm, I have heard a nasty rumour of them being taken over by Macdonalds?

Supper is curry with spring greens, broad beans and green beans, celery, coriander, onions and garlic. More berries for pudding.

talcy keep it up! How are you feeling, any change / improvement / detoxy feelings?

anorak I LOVE avocado on toast, especially with cream cheese

TooT I am envious of that roll. We have some lovely cafes and restaurants here but no uber healthy food place. It's such a luxury to be able to walk in off the street and sit down to great vegan / wholefood meals

lionheart did you eat the WHOLE pineapple?

Nannyogg another fabulous day - your food all sounds delicious

Lullaby what is the no fruit / grains thing
pls? Is that food combining? Aside from that nonsense you have knocked us all into a tin hat today. Please keep posting recipes and ideas as they are magnificent

Mrs C thanks for hard work tidying up and looking after everyone. I think I must try your quinoa salad. We have the flaked quinoa which I add to ds's breakfast but I am not that keen myself so I just have oats. I love the grain cooked with curry or stew or whatever, though.

Capp I am sure oats and rice count, not sure about rice milk as a bit processed but you can make your own ruling on that (you couldn't count rice and rice milk on the same day anyway of course). I reckon the dr was including cow's milk, meat and fish in his natural foods but TooT has pointed out that it isn't natural for humans to have cow's milk so again make your own ruling on that.

FMF your meals sound really exotic and uber-healthy too! How come everyone was so inspired today?

Aviatrix at plucked from the sea. I may be able to pluck lettuce from my garden tomorrow for the first time (truth be told I am nervous in case they taste crap or are full of slugs)

Can't believe a little pineapple is worthy of such comment given the amount some of you 10/10ers pack away.

(Do they help induce labour, then?)

TooTicky · 19/06/2007 22:33

Avi, please tell me more about saladini...

Pasta with tomato/onion/courgette/red pepper/celery sauce. Bit of partly chewed apple.

Still skint so eating economically (apart from aforementioned roll but at £1.85 it's very good value really). Fruit rations all round this week

Lovingly constructed a sort of stick and string structure for my peas in readiness for the storm and helped them wind their little tendrils round.
