For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and you can download more detailed information here (follow the link at the very bottom of the page)

i've had it, frank. it wasn't painful going in. but it was a bit crampy on the tum, imo. six seshs all but cured my IBS.

TooTicky · 08/05/2007 22:10

Last year I made a yummy dip/spread with broad beans and garlic and things - it had a foreign name but I can't remember what it was. Can't remember how to make it either

Personally, I would hate to have my colon irrigated. Horribly unnatural.

FrannyandZooey · 08/05/2007 22:10

Ooooh

my friend can't afford it anyway

what does your friend think, Tatties?

but yes, it was not unlike that.

ash6605 · 08/05/2007 22:30

agree with LL-the tube that they insert is no wider or longer than an index finger,so if you've had a pessary or enema compare it with that.you do feel the water going in and it's very uncomfortable.you can actually feel it going aroud your colon.it's more of a pressure than a pain,as the water is pumped in to you it builds up and you feel as if you are going to explode, then you get a massive relief as the water is released from inside you.twas very strange, try it though or you'll always wonder!!

suzycreamcheese · 08/05/2007 22:33

ha ha ha go knightrider!

FrannyandZooey · 08/05/2007 22:59

I want stones to come out of my bottom

OP posts:
TooTicky · 08/05/2007 23:00

But to be sure, you'd have to insert some first. And that would be hellish.

FrannyandZooey · 08/05/2007 23:01

hmmm

Aitch did you put them there yourself? Or did the stone fairies bring them?

OP posts:
KeithRichards · 08/05/2007 23:01

oh, out of your bottom, franny?

AitchTwoOh · 08/05/2007 23:04

nope, it was interesting. they use a bit of glass tubing attached to the rubber tube so the therapist person can get a look at the keech as it whizzes by. every so often you'd hear a rattle as wee stones would hit the glass. i saw them once. black, small and smooth, the size of gravel and all held together with tendrilly stuff... i've never worn my jet necklace since.

FrannyandZooey · 08/05/2007 23:08

oh fkn hell it has taken me nearly 7 minutes to get the Keith Richards joke

ash6605 · 08/05/2007 23:08

PMSL here's me thinking you meant gallstones?!!

she also told me to watch for parasites(worms)as they are evident in 1/4 people who have it done,i was shitting myself in case i had them

TooTicky · 08/05/2007 23:10

Actually, worms are beneficial. You get them if you need them and what they consume is more harmful to you than the worms themselves. So flaunt your worms with pride. And improve your diet.

AitchTwoOh · 08/05/2007 23:12

well thank god, franny. i thought it was hilarious... mick jagger was taken.

ash6605 · 08/05/2007 23:21

so are you still interested FRANNY??
or have i put you off?

TooTicky · 08/05/2007 23:24

Oh god, I've done it again. I've said something so downright weird that the only solution is to ignore me.
