Does Everyone Have a Long List of Weirdo Minor Problems? Or is it just me?

I get:

  • labyrinthitis, after a head cold
  • tracheitis, sometimes, no idea why
  • knee problems
  • foot problems
  • chronic excema, on hands and feet, very minor but itchy
  • minor asthma
  • very weird skin and mouth thrush, but only when pg

Is this just what getting older is like, you have a long list of strange larely untreatable illnesses that annoy you all the time?

Are you bendy VVVQV?

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:49

VeniVidiVickiQV - hurrah, let's create a bendies anonymous club. We can have a really weird handshake

hunkermunker · 03/04/2007 22:49

Oh, stretchmarks - I have them everywhere

I have never had anything approaching nice skin

Molesworth · 03/04/2007 22:50

ooh yes stretchmarks a go-go here too

hunkermunker · 03/04/2007 22:50

VVV, I suspect I've had mild depression since I was about 13 too.

Mhamai · 03/04/2007 22:50

Ooh I just remembered I get red eyes all the time too.

Molesworth · 03/04/2007 22:51

so there an awful lot of us with minor eczema and generally disturbed skin

what could be the underlying cause?

food intolerance or summat?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/04/2007 22:51

LOL! Yes i am. Despite being ridiculously unfit, I can still not only touch my toes, but place my hands flat on the floor in front of my toes

I used to be able to link my hands together, and go full circle round my body.

I was longsighted in one eye and shortsighted in the other!!!!

SaintGeorge · 03/04/2007 22:51

Stop making me remember more! Dear lord I'll need shooting at the end of this thread.

sciatica
clicky knees
PMT
depression

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:52

VVV Marfans syndrome - just googled it, that doesn't sound like me, although I do have a ventrical septal defect and this stupid blood disorder (factor 10 deficiency). Also, while much more slender than anyone else in my family, I'm still a fat lass

SaintGeorge · 03/04/2007 22:52

Better put bad memory as well

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/04/2007 22:53

oh yes, I have stretchmarks everywhere - since my teens. Obv huge ones since being pg.

I do wonder whether cows milk causes my skin, sinus and bowel problems.

My DD has a cows milk allergy.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/04/2007 22:53

slender usually...are you tall though?????

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/04/2007 22:54

Mind you - if you have already found the heart defect, then, there isnt much else to worry about, iyswim?

Mhamai · 03/04/2007 22:54

Eh St George stop nicking my ailments!

VeniVidiVickiQV - I can do the splits, both ways! I can also cartwheel in a very scary fashion (is there any way that isn't scary though?)

I always thought it was because I was born with a hole in my heart and I was encouraged to get loads of exercise, so my parents bought me a climbing frame which I practically lived on and became part monkey.

I only got diagnosed as hypermobile last year. I thought everyone went to casualty on a regular basis with dislocated joints

Molesworth · 03/04/2007 22:57

I've had depression at varying levels of horribleness since puberty as well

I don't class that as a minor ailment though

Mhamai · 03/04/2007 22:57

Amen to your last post Cali!

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:57

VVV - no I'm short and bulbous at the minute (I have a five month old DD). 5ft 4ish I guess. I do have a massively long body though, and short stumpy legs (god I sound SO attractive here!)

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 22:59

I have no stretch marks but do have five massive scars from having melanomas removed (four of which are on my back.)

I once wore a low back vest to work and pulled off my jacket in a business meeting and yelled 'and you lot, don't bother bloody stabbing me in the back because someone beat you to it' much to the horror of my staff - well they are misbehaving, they asked for it!

VeniVidiVickiQV · 03/04/2007 23:00

LOL!

I used to be able to do the splits, but, the SPD and the problems its caused my already rubbish sacro iliac makes it a HUGE no no...

Not that I have a cause to do the splits much

Mhamai · 03/04/2007 23:00

I've had it on and off since 13. I've also had PND twice, more worryingly is that as opposed to bouts of depression in my twenties where spells where on three months off etc. It has seemed on reflection that now at 39 I've been depressed for the past two years. I've been on ad off various ads with no effect so am now just seeing counsellor but it's very draining!
