Does Everyone Have a Long List of Weirdo Minor Problems? Or is it just me?

I get:

  • labyrinthitis, after a head cold
  • tracheitis, sometimes, no idea why
  • knee problems
  • foot problems
  • chronic excema, on hands and feet, very minor but itchy
  • minor asthma
  • very weird skin and mouth thrush, but only when pg

Is this just what getting older is like, you have a long list of strange larely untreatable illnesses that annoy you all the time?

Oh yes I've got dodg intestines too. Had some surgery so I don't suppose it counts as weirdo or minor (well maybe weirdo).

FrannyandZooey · 03/04/2007 21:25

I quite fancy a twitchy vulva

not yours Pruni, I mean I want one myself

Hey expat I have scoliosis - something to do with growing to 6ft by the age of 13!! It's quite minor but my mum noticed it when she couldn't get the hem on my confirmation dress straight and realised I had one hip higher than the other.

Pruni I get a twitchy vulva thing when I sit too long in a certain position - I have learnt to sit quietly and enjoy it until it passes.

For once, I have not baggsied the weirdo name.

You know, a lot of traditional so-called aphrodesiacs work by (in theory) making your mucous membranes really itchy, so you want to take your clothes off and have a good scratch. Doesn't sound very sexy, but I guess some people think it's a good start?

That's because I am the only TwitchyVulva in town, lady

HopeIGetSomeMegaEggs · 03/04/2007 21:28

Blimey SMBK - I thought you said you had dog intestines - that would be nasty.

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/04/2007 21:28

How are you doing being booze-free then Fio?

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/04/2007 21:29

Who is TwitchyVulva?

OP posts:
hunkermunker · 03/04/2007 21:33

This thread feels like coming home to me

NOT the twitchy vulva, I hasten to add.

But the weirdo irritating not bad enough to go to the dr but actually quite annoying stuff - yes. Largely, mine is skin-related. Weird eczema patches, rashy things, itchiness, mad allergic reactions to eg lying on grass (ffs) or apples (ffs).

It's one reason I hate the summer - if I bared myself as much as I want to, people would pull faces and point at the flaky one (and not just in the sense of ditzy ).

Mhamai · 03/04/2007 21:33

Oh and on and off depression!

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/04/2007 21:35

I got a brill anti-histamine for my 'summer rashes' hunker. It's called Telfast - best summer ever last year.

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 21:35

What is neuralgia? And sciatica? I honestly don't know.

I've thought of DH's. He has:

  • classic textbook migraines, thankfully not often, and migraleve works, thank god
  • very bad mosquito allergy
  • some other random allergy that we don't know what it's to, but sometimes pickles.

Oh, I'm allergic to a type of antibiotic. But that's serious, surely? Oh, and I used to have an erosion/evasion/whatever they call it this month on my cervix but I think it's gone now.

Mhamai · 03/04/2007 21:36

Sagg is that any good for waxing related spots? I get fierce rashes whether waxing or shaving.

tinkerbellhadpiles · 03/04/2007 21:38

Pruni - I can beat that - I'm one of 600 people in the WORLD with a rare blood disorder that meant at my DDs birth they refused to give me any pain relief because they didn't know what effect it would have on me.

This dubious honour does not cause me pleasure

HopeIGetSomeMegaEggs · 03/04/2007 21:38

Every time I refresh and read the new posts I think oh yeah - I get itchy - and I found a lump on my cervix which I havn't had checked out yet, wonder what that is? Yep migraines - not for a few years but used to get real blinders. Might need to recompile my list.

hatwoman · 03/04/2007 21:38

feet that feel like I'm wearing too big - and therefore crumpled up - socks
a weird tingling thing in the back of my neck when I move my head a particular way. I think it's called L'hermite's sign or somthing like that
pins and needles and tingling when i get hot
(all of which are related to MS)
my brain squeaks and my toe nail is falling off (but that, I hope, is temporary)

I don't wax so can't say - but it stopped my PLE (sunlight allergy) in it's tracks.
