Does Everyone Have a Long List of Weirdo Minor Problems? Or is it just me?

I get:

  • labyrinthitis, after a head cold
  • tracheitis, sometimes, no idea why
  • knee problems
  • foot problems
  • chronic excema, on hands and feet, very minor but itchy
  • minor asthma
  • very weird skin and mouth thrush, but only when pg

Is this just what getting older is like, you have a long list of strange larely untreatable illnesses that annoy you all the time?

They are both nerve disorders NCQ Neuralgia mainly affects facial nerves and Sciatica is at the bottom of the spine.

margo1974 · 03/04/2007 21:39

I have -

Keratosis pilaris
dowagers hump
tender coccyx
carpal nerves making my wrists and fingers numb

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 03/04/2007 21:39

I need to add something else.

Piles. Grim.

megaEGGs - are you Megalegs? If so did you find your wedding ring

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 21:42

Oh god, do piles even count? I thought everyone had them?

I do get mouth ulcers like crazy, too.

(Califrau, there is a (canadian!) physio treatment for SPD that can work wonders - a mate of mine was in a wheelchair after having her first DS1, but this managed to fix her. I can have a dig for it if you like? You'd need to find a physio there, but physio is more normal in the US than in the UK I think.)

sorry but brains asleep, what is spd?

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 21:45

I can't remember what it stands for, but it's when the pelvis opens up too much in pregnancy and things go out of whack. In most women it clears up when you give birth, but not always.

I shouldn't have piles. But then, I have one, which I got when I was 23 or something. It was interesting going to A+E with blood in my stool (duh. fresh red blood. not much of it. obviously piles. ) and having them ask me if I'd been having anal sex, but discreetly, while my boyf was in the room. Without him hearing! (No, it wasn't caused by that. :-P )

Califrau, have you tried physio at all? I'd be tempted to talk to a physio and see if you can get any treatment from them for it (particularly if insurance covers it, obviously). I'm having a dig and not seeing an obvious way to get the Canadian treatment, but there's lots of physio treatment for SPD out there.

Index finger which sometimes hurts when using light switch (!)

Nasty pain which sometimes appears when walking, top of leg. Can make me limp!

PMS getting worse, whilst period pain getting better (not sure which is the lesser of two evils)

hatwoman · 03/04/2007 21:59

I'm remembering more:
my spine clicks when I walk and sometimes when I'm lying in bed I forget where my legs are. that's pretty freaky.

NotQuiteCockney · 03/04/2007 22:00

My right hip aches, and even the physio couldn't fix it. She gave me a stretch, but it only worked when she did it (by lying on top of me, basically). I can only stretch it by doing a stretch from the pilates tapes, and even then, it still aches.

hunkermunker · 03/04/2007 22:10

And I had arthritis so badly I had an orange badge and DLA when I was 22 and now my knees ache scarily if I overdo it.
