Hi
I'd be glad of any advice or personal experiences here. I am around 4 stone overweight, so definitely obese. Most of it is on my stomach though, which now looks like I'm 11 months pregnant with triplets. I'm in my 50s so this is not a possibility. It's very painful and I am short of breath when I walk etc.

I've put on a lot of weight in a short period - 10lbs in 2 months.

Six months ago I was bodyboarding in the sea, walking every day and doing an exercise class every week. Now it's a struggle to do anything.

I'm having bloods done on Friday but any ideas / comments? Am I just unlucky to pile it all on in one place?

Hi all

I'm BORED BORED BORED BORED.... recovering well from the op (5.5 weeks now) but the wound isn't healing enough to restart chemo yet. I'm seeing the consultant again on Friday but she did say that she didn't think she'd be able to give the the go-ahead then either.

So I'm getting better to all outward appearances (hair is growing back) but I need more chemo. I haven't had enough to really nuke it.

I wanted to get it underway before I go back to work but that's not going to happen now.

Thanks Fly - are you waiting too? (Sorry if you've already said.) It's not a restful house right now..... DD1 has to finish her (already late) dissertation by Thursday pm too, so everyone is avoiding everyone.

And today's site problems with nothing on Threads I'm on/Watching don't help either.

On the plus side, I drove the car today! Yay! And now that I'm free of chemicals I'm enjoying a glass of wine or two with my cashews..

You need to get all that horrid chemo over and done with don't you! Make the most of the wine and cashews and enjoy the respite as much as you can ... 😘 (we're not allows to put xx on here!)

hairymuffet · 16/08/2017 01:06

Popping in to say hi !Wine

gonegrey56 · 16/08/2017 10:34

And a hello from me too . Fingers crossed for your dd's results tomorrow, I'm sure all will be well .
It may be just an old wive's tale but my elderly aunt (99!) had a slow to heal leg ulcer recently. A district nurse put manuka honey on it and it healed up. Perhaps a bonkers suggestion but I wonder what your consultant might think? I can well understand your wish to crack on with the chemo.
Will be thinking of you tomorrow and Friday .

tobee · 16/08/2017 23:24

Hi Twitter. I'm with you waiting for my ds results tomorrow too (seen you on other threads Smile).

Awesome! Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉

gonegrey56 · 17/08/2017 08:22

Fabulous news, well done to your dd!

BigGreenOlives · 17/08/2017 08:27

Congratulations to your daughter! What a star! I'm sorry to hear that your chemo has been delayed - can you go out for a celebration dinner tonight or at least have some fizz at home?

,,,,,,,,,,,,

TwitterQueen1 · 17/08/2017 11:12

Thanks! She's thrilled to bits! She got 4 As, which she deserves 100%.

Definitely celebrating when I can work out who's doing what when.

DD1 has to finish her dissertation today in order to get her degree. They both have to pack for wedding in Scotland tomorrow (exDH family).

DB is calling in to see me - and also NDNs but one's son, who is over from OZ and whom DB went to school with many years ago.... Still with me?

Maybe I should just have some fizz on tap!

Stellar result for your dd! Wow !

tobee · 17/08/2017 13:15

Well done Twitter dd! My dd just finished 4 years at Exeter and loved it there. 🎉

flyright · 17/08/2017 19:21

Hurray for DD. I loved Exeter when we went to the open day last year but DD preferred Leeds and apparently it wasn't my decision. Who knew.

I think fizz on tap is exactly what's required.

Enjoy it all.

flyright · 17/08/2017 19:24

And sorry forgot to say not waiting this year. Had all that stress last year with a lovely positive result like you so I know the relief!

TractorTedTed · 17/08/2017 23:13

Wow, amazing results.

Congratulations to your dd. Glad there's some good news in the Twitter household.

Hope your other dd got her dissertation in on time.

You definitely need fizz on tap Wine

LadyWithLapdog · 18/08/2017 08:29

Congratulations to your DD. I hope you're also getting closer to the go-ahead for the treatment you need. Here's to a good weekend.

TwitterQueen1 · 18/08/2017 14:11

Another yay! I am restarting chemo on 30th Aug. It could have been next week but I requested postponement so I can cook DD2 a proper roast dinner when she gets back from 12 weeks in the US next week.

GoneGrey I was seriously considering the manuka honey - I've heard it is a magic natural healer for all kinds of things. It looks the iron tonic, cottage cheese, cashews, cheese, tuna etc have done their thing though (almost - not quite there, but good enough).

DD1 did indeed finish her dissertation and essays, which are now winging their way to her tutor at uni. She got no sleep last night though!

So all is good in the TQ household this week :). I hope everyone else has a good weekend!

Fantastic news re the chemo, glad there is a date now for you.
What a tumultuous week all round but well done to DD1 on the dissertation, I went through this with my own dd recently so recall the angst rather too vividly ....
Have a great weekend Flowers

flyright · 18/08/2017 21:12

Brilliant news. Always good to have a plan.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 18/08/2017 21:13

Excellent news all round Star

LaContessaDiPlump · 18/08/2017 21:17

There have been actual clinical studies on the antibacterial action of manuka honey - it is a real thing! It can even eradicate MRSA, which is the one they worry about. Go for it!

BigGreenOlives · 19/08/2017 00:25

Lots of good news and how sensible of you to postpone your chemo until after the bank holiday weekend. Hope celebrations were a success.

5BlueHydrangea · 19/08/2017 00:39

There are dressings you can get with honey in rather than smearing it on! Investigate...

StilaOnTheWrongPlane · 19/08/2017 20:10

Fabulous news on all fronts Grin

hairymuffet · 29/08/2017 23:43

Hey TQ, good luck for tomorrow! !
Thinking of you!
