Glad things went well today. How's his wee looking now?

SplodgeBear1988 · 12/01/2017 21:38

Isn't he a good un, cystoscopies do hurt afterwards, I think it's a bit like cystitis type pain.

piknmixer · 21/01/2017 18:00

I keep thinking of you @BalaRua I hope things are ok.

BalaRua · 21/01/2017 20:18

Oh thank you pik that's very kind! DH awaiting a consultant appointment now.

LuluJakey1 · 21/01/2017 20:46

I have been wondering how he is too. Has his wee gone back to normal colour?

piknmixer · 22/01/2017 01:09

Hope that appointment comes through soon.

I know you said they have done blood tests but did they mention hemolytic anaemia?

That's all I can think of (something to do with the body stripping red blood cells that turn up in your wee - that's the simple version anyway.)

BalaRua · 22/01/2017 09:41

The wee is back to normal colour although the dipsticks still say there's 3+ blood and 2+ protein in it. Can't say anybody mentioned haemolytic anaemia, no. Didn't even think of that.

piknmixer · 03/02/2017 00:24

How are you doing @BalaRua Hope everything is ok and he's got the appointment.

BalaRua · 05/02/2017 22:03

DH has been dizzy on and off all weekend, has a raised temperature and back pain and today the bloody urine is back Sad because of the time he won't go to hospital now but wants to go 'on his way into work' in the morning because he works in the hospital anyway. Sad poor DH.

DesignedForLife · 05/02/2017 22:25

Oh no, has he got more appointments soon? Hope you get to the bottom of it soon.

MichaelSheensNextDW · 05/02/2017 22:25

He needs to go to hospital with those symptoms.

JorahsMissus · 05/02/2017 22:30

Oh god, it's horrible that he's still not got any explanation yet. Tell him he MUST go to the hospital tomorrow. He really needs to get to the bottom of this.

BalaRua · 05/02/2017 22:37

He said if he's still got a temp overnight and blood in the urine in the morning, he'll go and be seen. Silly man, I really wish he'd go now. He's been doing a lot of heavy lifting today.

OP posts:
EffieIsATrinket · 05/02/2017 22:45

I'd make sure he sees his GP for blood tests to look for hamolysis.

mowgelijeffs · 06/02/2017 08:34

Can you take him to a hospital with a urology dept in the A&E ?

BalaRua · 06/02/2017 08:39

Do they have those? He's had the bladder scope recently.

MiscellaneousAssortment · 06/02/2017 09:00

Oh dear, poor you & your DP

BalaRua · 06/02/2017 09:32

I'm going to report this and ask for it to be moved to general health instead of chat so that it doesn't disappear on me.

OP posts:
mowgelijeffs · 06/02/2017 11:21

Well, I had a massive problem with my kidneys when I was pregnant. I got a nephrostomy it was so rubbish. Anyway, I got fed up going to normal A&E or to the maternity ward every time I had a problem where they didn't have a specialist.
In a hospital about twenty miles away in the minor injuries or urgent care I think it was called they had a dedicated urology dept within their urgent care with several urologists on call. Then I was always triaged by a urologist or urology nurse and scanned the next day.
Where are you based? If you maybe look online and say nhs urgent care urology it might come up with something..

JorahsMissus · 06/02/2017 13:05

Has he gone today?

I would be really cross if my DP was just avoiding seeing Dr's when something is so obviously not right. Give him a kick and tell him he HAS to keep on top of his health as he has a family to worry about and who are worrying about him!

PointlessUsername · 06/02/2017 13:08

Hoping he has been seen today.

BalaRua · 06/02/2017 13:54

I have been so annoyed at him and told him he better start looking after himself Grin he went to work and is seeing the GP at 2.40 but not holding much hope with the GP because he was rubbish last time.

UTI's are completely different in men than women. a few years ago DH felt unwell at work, sort of fluey, and needed to wee but couldn't go. He didn't recognise the symptoms and eventually decided to leave work slightly early to come home. He took ages to come home but I just thought he had been delayed at work. Then got a ohonecall off his phone from a paramedic. He had passed out and gone (very slowly) into the back of a bus. They think he had a seizure. Anyway this was all caused by the UTI. His temp spiked and he passed out.
Moral of the story is that a UTI in a man can get very serious very quickly.

Balarua · 06/02/2017 17:06

Since the start of this thread there was never any evidence of infection.
