Any news?

Binglesplodge · 03/01/2017 18:40

How did it go? I really hope he gets to the bottom of it: I reckon I'd be pretty concerned with wee like that, even if A and E had given the all clear...

WhoremoaneeGrainger · 03/01/2017 20:20

What did the doctor say OP?

passmethewineplease · 03/01/2017 20:28

How did your dh get on at the doctor BalaRua?

Namejustfornappies · 04/01/2017 06:58

Thinking of you OP

toldmywraath · 04/01/2017 10:11

Oh dear OP I hope everything is alright with your DH. This is the first thing I thought of this morning. It must be strange knowing that loads of mumsnetters are thinking of you & wish you well. Flowers

WellErrr · 04/01/2017 10:38

Hope he's ok.

BalaRua · 04/01/2017 10:43

Thanks for asking. For whatever reason A and E had told us his bloods and urine micro were fine, but there's some signs of inflammation in his bloods and one of the kidney markers is off, as well as high white cells, epithelial cells, blood and protein there in his urine. No growth on the urine culture however. GP faxed across an urgent referral for urology and has given him antibiotics for UTI treatment even though there's no culture growth.

Here's what worries me. Two years ago when I was pg, I started with high bp and protein in urine so I bought dipsticks to keep an eye on it. He did a dipstick back then and had protein and blood in the urine but decided the sticks 'didn't work' and wouldn't go to the doctors. Sad so my worry now is that it's something chronic like CKD.

He's so stick thin and has such a limited diet that I'm afraid any illness will knock him sideways.

Runwayqueen · 04/01/2017 11:00

I hope they are quick with the referral OP Flowers

toldmywraath · 04/01/2017 11:22

Thank you for updating us OP, I hope you get to the bottom of things quickly.

poppym12 · 04/01/2017 12:11

I hope the referral comes through quickly. Maybe he's had a low level infection rumbling on for a while and the abx will help.

poppym12 · 04/01/2017 12:12

Does he have other health issues which limit his diet and weight?

BalaRua · 04/01/2017 13:13

He has IBS (though he doesn't really believe in this as a diagnosis, but that's another story..). He follows a low FODMAP diet to combat his horrible symptoms (lots of pain and diarrhoea), as well as being completely wheat and dairy free. He has several family members diagnosed coeliac but refuses to eat wheat as per guidelines for the coeliac blood test which is fair enough I think. He has always been slim but absolutely cannot maintain a healthy weight. He is 6 foot tall and not quite 10 stone which puts him right on the cusp of underweight. (He's absolutely stunningly good looking even so slim, if I do say so myself. Like a supermodel Smile)
