I've been bringing him pint upon pint of water and not even a slight difference :( I feel safe here to say I'm SO scared for him, I'd never tell him that though!

He's only 29 if that makes a difference to anyone's thinking

passmethewineplease · 31/12/2016 22:34

That's how mine started OP. Maybe it could be related rather than the cough? Hope you get some answers soon.

Badcat666 · 31/12/2016 22:39

soupdragon

I'm at home all wrapped up warm at home as not feeling so great but apart from that having a lovely NYE ta!

At least I'm not actually out drinking on NYE and still trolling someone who is worried sick about their DH....

Namejustfornappies · 31/12/2016 22:39

I'm assuming he's never done ketamine then?
Your poor DH. Hope he gets better soon. How does he feel "in himself" as they say?

BatFacedGirl · 31/12/2016 22:41

Sounds like a kidney stone

2017willbeawesome · 31/12/2016 22:41

Oh Balla, I hope he and your DC get well soon. And you get to the bottom of the cola looking pee, you did the right thing, fingers crossed and toes it all get sorted.

MountainPeaks · 31/12/2016 22:42

"Sounds like a kidney stone" Except he's not in any pain? And he can still pee?

MountainPeaks · 31/12/2016 22:42

Maybe I am wrong about kidney stones though...

MountainPeaks · 31/12/2016 22:43

Does he exercise?

2pandasandapig · 31/12/2016 22:48

Just on the whole kidney stone theme I had a rather large stone, I had no symptoms other than occasional red pee up until I got a run of the mill uti and even then it was only the prolonged period or blood in my urine that made the doc send me for a scan so it is entirely possible to not have massive painful symptoms! Sadly I've been left with worse symptoms than when the stone was in situ so to speak.

Passmethecrisps · 31/12/2016 22:50

I am glad at least that your dh for some blood tests and something urgent has been ruled out.

I hope you get at least a bit of niceness in time for the bells

Natsku · 31/12/2016 22:52

My urine was similar to that when I had hydronephritis - hope the GP figures out what's going on quickly.

BalaRua · 31/12/2016 22:52

Thank you everyone Flowers DH has never done ketamine! He doesn't exercise, although on Friday in work he had to move lots of heavy bottles of chemicals all around the store room in the lab (not his usual job) and he was doing it for 1.5 hours which what made me panic about rhabdo but that was ruled out.

MountainPeaks · 31/12/2016 22:52

2pandasandapig Thanks for correcting me on that one. I'd always associated them with severe pain and not being able to pee...

VulvaInLaw · 31/12/2016 22:55

Fingers crossed all ok OP, You must have had a right shock when you saw your DH's wee!

CarolineMumsnet · 31/12/2016 22:56

Hi OP - Please continue to seek the medical support you need and we hope your DH recovers soon. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to post so thoughtfully. To other...er...less helpful posters, please can we ask you to show a bit of peace and goodwill, and to take a break from this thread if you are feeling a little het up. Many thanks.

passmethewineplease · 31/12/2016 23:00

mountain I had my stone for ages, and didn't feel anything.

He said they only really hurt when they're on the move. Which would explain why I felt no pain for almost a year whilst I waited for the op.

BatFacedGirl · 31/12/2016 23:02

I had a kidney stone. A large one. I could wee and no - initial - pain. The major symptom of a kidney stone that's moved in a man is bright red wee where is 'nicks' the urethra. It needs a scan to confirm it

FannyFifer · 31/12/2016 23:03

The only time I have had urine this colour was when I was in kidney failure due to having pre-eclampsia.

Is he peeing out as much as he is drinking?
I ended up hardly peeing at all & drinking too much wasn't helping matters.
Maybe do a fluid input & output chart if possible.
I would not be happy with him being sent home with wee that colour.
Any temp, pain, anything at all unusual take him right back.

FannyFifer · 31/12/2016 23:04

I had no pain at all either.

BalaRua · 31/12/2016 23:09

Thanks Caroline! DH v impressed that his wee has 18 pages on mn! I'm going to keep a very close eye. I'm thinking now that it could be a stone on the move :) that's reassuring. Mn really is so useful at these times Flowers

OP posts:
Badcat666 · 31/12/2016 23:13

Bala he should post pics of each wee he has so we can double check the colour for him and check if it's getting better Grin

I hope you both are able to have some sleep and rest later tucks the duvet round you both

youarenotkiddingme · 31/12/2016 23:15

I'm really glad it turned out to be nothing serious.

And having read some frankly terrifying posts here about pee that colour being organ failure I'm glad you went to a and e.

I also agree that if dh symptoms worsen you should return. Because they've said it's something needing medical attention and only that atm, this current moment, it's not an emergency.

BalaRua · 31/12/2016 23:18

I actually would post the pictures of the wees if I thought you meant that badcat Grin poorly toddler asleep across me and WONT be put down so no chance of much rest- don't mind as long as he's feeling okay.

Thanks youare Flowers it most definitely seemed like an emergency this morning when he produced the first dark wee of the day :(
