DH was weeing red yesterday and this is his wee this morning. He has a cold and has been taking lemsip. He's definitely had a temperature although no thermometer to check. Would this warrant a and e given the day/date? Thanks

OP as someone else said, if it gets worse, he has any pain, or becomes confused please go back immediately. Did they check liver/kidney function?

Badcat666 · 31/12/2016 21:57

Soz.. meant Tuesday... my brain is tired from too much cheese eating! {grin}

PossumInAPearTree · 31/12/2016 22:00

Yes Mozz, has to go see the GP on Tuesday now kidney failure and liver failure has been ruled out. If he hadn't been seen tonight he would have no way of knowing that he wasn't in kidney failure.

MozzchopsThirty · 31/12/2016 22:04

Yeah yeah carry on
I'm 6 vodkas down at the rugby club

But still posting on mumsnet! Must be a wild night!!

BillyDaveysDaughter · 31/12/2016 22:08

FFS I'm astounded they sent him back home again. On the other hand, they presumably ruled out the really sinister stuff with the bloods etc...I got sent home to self inject heparin one weekend when they thought I had multiple blood clots in my lungs, but no beds to spare. Luckily I managed not to cark it...was simply a nasty allergy to medication.

Sorry you have no answers but really hope this symptom is related to his current illness and nothing more complex. And sorry you now have a sick child too...it never rains eh.

I hope things improve in the next couple of days and that your DH can get a GP appointment if he needs it on Tuesday.

ringroads · 31/12/2016 22:09

Im abit gobsmacked at some of the replies, OP asks should i go A&E ...MN- yes and No

Op ..been A&E said nothing acute , therefore nothing needs to be done as an emergency today plz see GP next week for referrals to appropriate areas

(Some of) MN- outrageous! Madness!! Go to a different hospital, as obz the medically qualified dr doesnt know what his doing...
Did they even do the right tests?!?

Blimeeeyyyy happy new yr WineWine

OP, i really hope your DH feels better soon.

Go to a different hospital, I didn't say go to a different hospital - I said if he gets worse is there a second hospital that he could go to...

Seeing as they've offered no explanation, not even dehydration, or lemsip causing it, I would not feel comfortable returning to the same hospital if he gets worse (I don't think I would be alone in thinking this).

MountainPeaks · 31/12/2016 22:15

Mozz If you want to go to A and E when you know it's a fucking hangover that's your choice.

This wasn't exactly something the OPs DH has brought on himself intentionally.

Mozz in all honesty, why are you checking mumsnet when you are at a rugby club? No decent sets of legs to be checking out instead?

Badcat666 · 31/12/2016 22:18

You must be having a FAB NYE Mozz if you are trolling MN.

Here's to your headache raises a glass may it be an epic migraine with much vomiting, balance impairment and inability to handle any light source at all!

chin chin and all that!

BalaRua · 31/12/2016 22:23

My DH is a creature of meticulous habit, eats the same day in day out, the clothes he wears, everything is full of order and routine and he doesn't even drink alcohol at all so seeing that really was a massive shock and I think due to how very dark it was and clearly full of blood, we did the right thing. Many thanks to all supporting me on this thread. Hope you're all having a better nye than mozz!

He's still peeing dark, red-brown wee. He's keeping it (!) to compare tomorrow and see if there's any change.

Your NYE must be really shit then going by that post.

passmethewineplease · 31/12/2016 22:26

Sorry if you've already answered this OP but does he have any flank pain? That was the first sign of my kidney stone, then I had the dark red wee.

Don't worry about the sad bastard on the wind up. Flowers

BalaRua · 31/12/2016 22:27

No he doesn't seem to have any pain. He had slight tenderness in his mid-back but he's had a slight cough so that was blamed.

Trolling mumsnet from "the rugby club" at four minutes past midnight on new years eve.

That is so tragic.

Haggisfish · 31/12/2016 22:30

Poor you and dh Bala. Hope his wee returns to normal soon and dc gets better too. And that you get a rest!

IAmNotTheOneWhoKnocks · 31/12/2016 22:30

OP I assume he's been drinking LOTS of fluid today? And it hasn't made any difference?

WorraLiberty · 31/12/2016 22:32

Blimey, that's some seriously strange looking pee.

Hope you get to the bottom of it soon Thanks
