It's back For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY - if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion.

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY - can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more.

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being. Sign up below and post here to tell us how you're getting on and how you are feeling.

Basic guidance on what constitutes a portion of fruit and veg here and more detailed information here

Yes, have spotted link better now.

DS2 seems to be on the mend. He's had a half-dose of calpol this morning and is watching a video about tractors with DS1.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2007 09:42

Ds is "gunning" dp

"Oh no mummy shall I pretend it's a squirter because daddy won't like to be gunned will he?"

Hmm wonder where he got that idea NQB???

Filly the only shrine in my house is the slash shrine, I can promise. Your nauties will be safe with me

No idea what we're doing about food etc today. Or exercise. We are getting a spare child for the afternoon, so DH is on the party run with both of them, probably in the car, if we can get it.

I might try to run with DS1 this morning if I can work up the energy. I should do it, haven't run since Tuesday.

NotQuiteCockney · 17/02/2007 09:43

Filly, where you were when I was casting aspersions on LaQuinoise?

Fillyjonk · 17/02/2007 09:57

nautie slash

a goer, do you think?

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2007 10:16

Aren't nauties hermaphrodite, anyway?

We have just destroyed this thread, you know

nobody is eating any fruit and most of it is just drivel about gawd knows what

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 17/02/2007 10:17

Ok, I know I will regret this ... but wtf is a nautie?

NotQuiteCockney · 17/02/2007 10:17

Isn't that a newsreader? James Nautie?

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2007 10:21

nauties

as immortalised in the Moomin books

have we got to buy you Moomin books as well as Noel Streatfeild, NQB?

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 17/02/2007 10:22

Oh. I think I have heard of the Moomin books.

These are another British (European really, right?) thing that I don't 'get'.

You know, there is very little Thomas slash (hmmm, wanted to write 'snuff' there ... my true feelings about Thomas coming out ...). And last time I looked, I couldn't find any Bob slash.

StrangeTown · 17/02/2007 11:18

This thread is frightening me.

I don't understand at least 70% of it.

Fillyjonk · 17/02/2007 11:28

htf don't you know what a nautie is nqc

they are from knitty ffs

they scare me cos of the dpn requirements but now i have worked out how to make dpns I feel in control.

don't think thomas slash would be a goer, tbh. I just think the prose would get too dense with mechanical terminology.

thomas snuff, otoh, sounds great, must get onto it.

Fillyjonk · 17/02/2007 11:30

and oh yes, nauties are absolutely very important to the moomin books

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2007 11:40

StrangeTown I think we need a glossary for the 10 / 10 thread

or just lock NQC and Filly away

StrangeTown · 17/02/2007 11:41

I am waiting for Cod to come back with a helpful one line summary.

FrannyandZooey · 17/02/2007 11:49

Don't let them intimidate you

let's talk some incomprehensible bollocks of our own

(now in the light of morning I can see that NQC ws talking about Pick Up Artists last night, and seems to think that my dp is one. To which I say

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahhahahaahahahahaahahahahahahahahaahahahahhaahahahahahahahhahahahaahahahahahahahhaaa)

good on you, aviatrix. how did you come to do that then?

more importantly...what can I do to get over my irrational fear of cabling?

I am scared of it. I don't know if I had some early, forgotton childhood trauma involving a fisherman's sweater but I am scared.

where did you learn? did you find yourself a natural cabler?

That is very cool aviatrix. Has it got nice fruit in it? Did you go up and make an acceptance speech, thanking the 10/10 thread withouth which you never could have won?

(the slash thing was a vicious rumour about me writing filthy Harry Potter fan fiction. It is almost entirely unfounded)

slash

Here's the original thread but my god is it long and daft

OP posts:
NotQuiteCockney · 17/02/2007 13:41

Hmm, not doing well on fruit and veg, but did go for a very long and vigorous run with DS1. Very nice way to run, that - I run, he bikes.
