What is this swelling above my collar bone.

I have had it over 3 months and have booked doctors for next Friday. It is above my right collarbone, the swelling is soft and inside it is a movable long thin lump. It does not hurt at all and I haven't had any infections or bites etc. It does not bother me except it hasn't always been there so o worry about things like lymphoma. I know that apparently cancer lumps are usually hard and immobile so it's probably a lymph node....Has anyone had anything like this at all or any doctors with ideas please? I keep swinging between thinking I'm over reacting and then thinking I should rush to the doctors. In case you can't notice it, it's on the left in the picture but actually on my right. The redness is my terrible British tan Blush

Did it go away after you got your neck all fixed by physio?

I found out what it is: It is associated with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, where the nerves get 'caught', emanating from the 3 discs in the neck (there may be bulging or herniated discs there), affecting the same side as the lump on the neck. It may also be associated with a head injury. Take it all to the Lord, He is your healer.

I posted about the same issue with swelling above my collarbone tissue. I discovered that I was over using nasal spray and that caused the swelling I have since discontinued the nasal spray and the swelling is gone.

In my case I think it was caused by adrenal insufficiency. They never went away. And doctors just tell me to exercise 🤦🏻‍♀️

So I have the same thing on both sides but the left side is bigger than the right side. I’ve notice this since December. On March I got done a ultrasound and they said it was swollen lymph nodes gave me antibiotics for 10 days and after that there were still there. Got a second ultrasound this passed month in may and my right side actually shrink a little but the left side stayed the same. I was then send to go see a surgeon to see what other doctor says and as soon as he saw me he said they weren’t lymph nodes he said that it was (Fat Pad) so he wants to make sure what it is so he send me to get done a CT scan which I Hade it done On Monday the 27 of this month (June) It’s been 24 hrs and I haven’t gotten a call yet, I’m so scared and nervous because I’m only 29 and have a 4 year old daughter. The suspense is killing me. Here are some photos of both sides being swollen. First photo is left and the other one is right side.

I have the same thing and I got a CT scan and nothing came back on it, doctors think it’s just fat which is weird cause I’m skinny. Do you have hormonal problems or bad posture at all?

Hi Kailee, I don’t have hormones problems at all. Last month I got checked on my hormones and they were good. But I stopped taking BC last Year in November maybe it has something to do with the BC because I noticed the bumps in December. Did you get CT can results quick??

My results came back that day but that’s what happens to everything I do procedure wise and scans. If it was something serious they would call right away. What kind of hormone test did you do?

I don’t remember what kind of hormones they checked but everything was fine. Well I really hope everything is fine with me since it’s been more than 24 hrs that I got done the CT Scan. I been like crazy googling any google messes my mind because I read stuff I don’t want for it to be. 😔

Did they do a full bid ct scan or just the neck and chest? You will be fine, that’s exactly what I have and ct was clear

i just wanted to say that mine look exactly like yours. I posted on her two years ago about mine and that I chad a series of checks done also.

I have actually made myself quite ill with worrying and googling. I overthink everything little pain, lump, bump or blemish.

I am in a whole better place now as o stay away from google and any worries I have about something I call my doctor to be checked.

I think it was only for the neck but my whole body was in the machine so i suppose it was full body scan .

@DonnaBab hi. It’s been 2 years for you and what have they say about your situation ?? Did they found out what it was ?? Are your bumps gone ??

Has anyone found out what are the lumps?? Did anyone get any surgery to removed them?? Or did they disappear on there own??

@Alee9 no they are still there, same size. Yes, they are just fatty tissue build up. I haven’t asked for them to be removed but i am super conscious of them and have thought about asking. I’m not concerned about them anymore just wish they wasn’t there. I have read that exercise and diets help to reduce their size it I don’t know as I have tried, they a called lipoma’s.

I got my CT scan done Monday so if they didn’t call me ASAP is nothing to worry right ?? They scheduled me an appointment for this coming week on the 7 for results. Let’s see how it goes.

So tomorrow I have my appointment for results of CT scan my question is why did it took a week an a half for dr to see me and tell me about my results. If there was anything wrong they would’ve call me that same day ??? I just want tomorrow to be over 😔

I am so pleased to come across this but amazed how many of us have the same swelling. Mine is on the left side of my neck just on my shoulder.
I took a photo, sent it to my Drs and they arranged an ultra scan and blood tests which came back clear.
The consultant reassured me it was not sinister nor a lipoma. He wasn’t sure what it was and talked about cervical rib syndrome so I’m going for a chest X-ray soon.
I googled that as soon as I got home!

I’ve Google the thing your doctor mentioned. Seems a possible cause as it could be the extra fibres.

I have them on both sides and they are like muscles so i am starting to wonder if I’m just a like shehulk 🤣
