New thread for old friends and for new quitters ...

The staff at dd's school are just amazing, really inspiring and caring. It's just had the most fabulous ofsted report which is quite something for an inner city London school. I've just got to hope she gets her Reception place now. Currently she's full time in the nursery. Gulp ... I can't send her to any of the other local schools. Scary.

Now I'm 10 days since last puff.

As I said to dp today I'm never smoking again. Not ever. This current health crisis is my Big Warning if ever there was one. If I get through this I'd be crazy to start smoking again.

No way for me, cc, I've had too much of an insight into what serious permanent lung problems would be like lately.

Today's been tough though I've really fancied a smoke so many times. Haven't even vaguely succumbed though!

I've thought about it way too much today too. I was in the corner shop with dd this afternoon and I thought 'I could just buy 10 ...' then I remembered that before I know it that would be 10 smoked and another packet bought and back to square one wishing I'd not bought that pack of 10.

I'm tired of making the same mistakes.

Dd is coughing her heart out. Dp is also coughing.

When I last saw the GP he was talking about 'cough' as though it were a person: 'the thing about cough is that you never know where it originated'. I can't stop thinking of it now as an evil entity that has invaded our home.
