I said I wouldn't post again, but since MN has been supportive I thought it only fair.

We found out this afternoon, that dh has an agressice adenocarcinoma of the pancreas. With treatment a 'good' prognosis would be a a year or two. I know that in practice it will probably be less than this.

Poor sweet man.

Oh MB I'm so sorry. I will keep you and your dh and family in my prayers.

beckybrastraps · 03/12/2006 18:15

The way you write about your husband has always made me smile. There's a lot of moaning about husband and partners on MN, but clearly you have one of the best and it has been lovely to hear of your happiness. And now it is heartbreaking to hear of your sadness. I hope there are some precious times for you in the coming months. Take care. xx

welliemum · 03/12/2006 19:30

MB, that is such sad news. I can't even imagine what this must be like, but I think you're being amazingly brave for your DH, and it's very thoughtful of you to update us here on mn.

Just wanted to say a word of caution as I've some experience with ca pancreas: the chemo and pain relief has come a long way in the last few years, so if you're reading up about this, bear that in mind. Old info will be very gloomy, recent info less so.

(Sorry, unsolicited advice can be very irritating I know; apologies if this is out of place.)

Wishing you and DH and the family the very best of luck.

Ellbell · 03/12/2006 19:49

MB
I'm glad you came back to update us. We've all been thinking about you.
I'm so so sorry that you've had this news. There is nothing I can say to make it any better, but I will continue to keep you in my thoughts.
Enjoy the time that you have with your dh. Your love for him shines through in each and every one of your posts about him.

Oh MB, this is just awful, awful. I hope as a family, you can squeeze as much life and love as possible into the time you have left with your darling husband.

As others have said, it matters not whether you're on MN, we will think and probably 'speak' of you often.
