------------ MY HUSBAND IS MISSING ---- Last Seen Macclesfield

Hi, I'm a long-term Mnetter but have changed my name recently.

My husband left the house (in Oxford) at 4pm on Thursday saying he was going to put petrol in the car. I haven't seen him since. He has spoken to his brother, most recently at 7am on Friday 1 Dec. His car has been found in Macclesfield and he was last seen at a chip shop in Macclesfield at 4pm on Friday. He has an illness and came off his medication 3 weeks ago.

The police etc are on the case, but I'm a great believer in pursuing all avenues. If you have any information, please post it here or call the National Missing Persons Helpline free on 0500 700 700. Also please, if you live in the area, please talk about it to people you meet. Someone MUST have seen him.

My husband is 6.4 with grey/black hair (think George Clooney) and very strong features with large deepset eyes. He is probably wearing glasses and may not have shaved for 3 days or so. He is probably also very warmly dressed.

Thanks x

What a worrying time for you!
Have you got plenty of support in RL?

suzywong · 02/12/2006 15:13

Blimey!
I 'm the last person to be of use seeing as I 'm on the other side of the world, but MN will do its best, I'm sure

LoveMyGirls · 02/12/2006 15:13

you must be out of your mind with worry! i hope he turns up safe very soon!

Quootiepie · 02/12/2006 15:14

oh no {{hugs}} I cant really think what else to say - how awful... {{hugs}}

choosyfloosy · 02/12/2006 15:20

Just reassuring you that I've got lots of support - parents, sisters, friends etc, the police are being as good as they can be in the circs, everyone i speak to is really helpful. Also ds is a great help just by being himself IYSWIM.

But yes, I am getting really worried now. He almost certainly slept rough last night and it's just not the weather for it. Just tell EVERYONE - please. I've talked to everyone I can think of - tv, radio, newspapers, social services, doctors. I know he may not want to be found and he has a right to leave me, but i just want to be sure he's OK, which I don't think he is, at all. If he wants to leave us he needs to do that knowing how much we love him and worry about him.

how absolutely awful for you.....hope he is found safe soon.....

flutterbee · 02/12/2006 16:24

A photo would be a really good idea so anyone in the area can know exactly who they are looking for.

My thoughts are with you.

JinglePrunes · 02/12/2006 16:42

BTW I am Pruni.

saggarmakersbottomknocker · 02/12/2006 16:46

I'm not far from Macc. What about calling the local radio station choosy. Maybe they'd put something out on air? Commercial Radio in Macc is Silk FM I think.

tamum · 02/12/2006 16:51

I'm a long way away too but would just like to say how sorry I am. I will keep everything crossed- a picture would be a good idea, wouldn't it? A link to one somewhere, at least.

I'm not near macclesfied

good that he was buying chips I guess..

hope he turns up, does he have any connections in that area? somewhere he used to live or something drawing him there or is it just where he ran out of petrol?

lulumama · 02/12/2006 18:32

.

jalopy · 02/12/2006 18:43

What an awful worry for you, choosyfloosy. I can't imagine how I would cope in this situation. Good to hear that you have local support from friends and family. Hope things resolve soon for you and he returns safely.

zippitippitoes · 02/12/2006 18:46

have they left his car where they found it in case he goes back to it? to sleep maybe?

I wish i could think of something helpful to say

I think it is not unusual to drive off with some kinds of illness, i've done it myself or taken a taxi

pedilia · 02/12/2006 18:48

I am so sorry to read of this, I really hope you have some news soon. thinking of you.

GiraffeGotTheLastRoomInTheInn · 02/12/2006 19:04

We're about 7 miles from Macclesfield and I work at the hospital, I hope I don't see him at work

taylormama · 02/12/2006 19:16

hi - my DH had a breakdown and disappeared for 2 weeks last year ... i knew he was in the USA but that was it - he did come back tho'. I know what you are going through - i hope he comes back soon ... i am thinking of you - it is so painful. I really feel for you - god bless you.

Mirage · 02/12/2006 21:18

Oh dear,I'm very sorry to hear this. You must be so worried. You have probably already tried this, but The Salvation Army do a lot of work with missing persons & also work with rough sleepers. One of their members may have seen him or be able to contact him.

I hope you have him home again soon.
