Are you bananas for bananas? 10 / 10 club week whatever it is

For anyone who wants a boost to their general health. The suggested goals are:

EAT 10 PORTIONS OF FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EVERY DAY

(if you don't usually eat much fruit and veg I would build up gradually or you could upset your digestion)

DO (AT LEAST) 10 MINUTES OF EXERCISE EVERY DAY

(can be yoga, stretching or something more energetic. The plan is that the idea of doing 10 minutes is not too daunting, and having started you may well find you want to do more)

There are no restrictions on what you eat so long as you get your 10 fruit and veg as well. The focus is not on weight loss but on improving our energy levels and hopefully our general mood and well-being.

Franny, do you peel the shells off the seeds first? Doesn't it take ages?

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 02/11/2006 12:16

Oh, and so far today I have had a banana and a tangerine (so I am allowed to be loitering here!!)

FrannyonFire · 02/11/2006 12:32

Shells?

Do they have shells? We just ate the whole thing

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 02/11/2006 12:48

Yes, when you buy pumpkin seeds it's just the dark green inside bit, but when you take the shells out of the pumpkin there is a hard yellowy-white husk on the oustide.

Doesn't anyone know what I mean?

FrannyonFire · 02/11/2006 12:55

Yes I do now you have pointed it out.

We just ate the whole darn thing

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 02/11/2006 12:57

You won't need your colonic irrigation this week then

FrannyonFire · 02/11/2006 12:59

as if I have ever needed a colonic, Miss Snottsleeves

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 02/11/2006 13:01

I am unable do decide whether or not your Bonfire Night name is superior to mine, Franny. They are both pretty shit hot

Tatties · 02/11/2006 18:59

Ok, another smug moment alert - ds has just lapped up cabbage for tea

Franny your name makes me think of Hairdresser on Fire.

Snotty your post about leaf kite has made me think how lovely it would be to have two little boys...

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 02/11/2006 19:03

I am sick

I have been at the bananas again

and the froot of the cocoa tree

and also the medised tree

however i did manage to sneak quite a lot of oatmeal into the gingerbread people at our halloween party, which left me rather smug.

FrannyonFire · 02/11/2006 21:39

Tatties I think I love you

you are the first person to openly appreciate the true wonder of my Morrissey referential name

Greeny, yours is good I must admit, mostly because it is not instantly obvious who you are

for about 3 seconds that is and then you start posting about boiled aubergines etc

FrannyonFire · 02/11/2006 21:40

Filly what is wrong with you? Is it a bodily affliction or a more William Blake type of sickness?

SweetandTenderTatties · 02/11/2006 22:19

Franny it is truly wonderful

beegee · 02/11/2006 22:29
PyroPaps · 03/11/2006 06:39

I thought AB FAB "Wheels on Fire... burning down the road"

...and now I have a fireworks name I feel complete

I have been having back to back colds and think I need 20 fruit and vege a day. Must focus on increasing my health, as have resorted to popping vitamin pills.

So who has not seen this thread then... Veggie Xmas dinner

FrannyonFire · 03/11/2006 07:22

God we do have the best names on here

PyroPaps and SweetandTenderTatties is just fab

Beegee why are you lurking? I haven't seen anyone being particularly witty, we mostly just admire one another all the time I think (and very nice too)

I am not sure how I am going to get to the gym this weekend (annoyingly, it closes on weekend evenings - like people have something else to do other than exercising? Weird...) Anyway I may try to go tonight instead. And am going out for marvellous swanky(ish) meal on Sunday as it is our anniversary - the menu looks quite veg friendly actually.

FillyjonkTheFireEater · 03/11/2006 08:00

I am dying

well I have a bastard of a cold, anyway

and two kids to look after

attempts to crawl away into hole...velcrobaby and fillyboy commence prodding...

FrannyonFire · 03/11/2006 12:36
FillyjonkTheFireEater · 03/11/2006 17:30

ah well, its better than a prod with a brio train dipped in ketchup

FrannyonFire · 03/11/2006 19:13

Are you sure?

beegee · 03/11/2006 19:29

Franny - hello!! And hello to all! Didn't mean to be lurking in an offensive way - I was just in subdued mood and felt I had nothing to give really...

I think this thread does make witty reading...I was chortling away to myself having a nice old time, actually.

I've just begun to recover from cold myself. It's been so tedious. Coughing is a really really boring pastime.

beegeebanger · 03/11/2006 19:36

And with my name change - am feeling more in the mood for the season..

[singing] Tra la la whoosh...

FrannyonFire · 03/11/2006 20:43

Aw beegee you weren't offending me, just wondered if there was any reason why you weren't posting but I get it now

Hope all with colds feel much better soon

SweetandTenderTatties · 03/11/2006 20:51

Oh my goodness Franny, is it really your anniversary on Sunday? How uncanny - it is also mine and dp's! It is our seven year itch

beegeebanger · 03/11/2006 20:52

You wont catch it from me. I always type with my hand over my mouth.
