LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance
I guess I start..
My cervix is on the outside, it can't all hang where it should and no manner of pelvic floor exercises or devises will get it back there.
I'm 41, one fab dd and wanted more but there you are, can't now can I?

This thread, hopefully, will be for those waiting, recovering or supporting

How are you feeling now odds?

Hopefully it will heal quickly now you are no longer coughing and sneezing. Thanks

Trees and decorations went up last weekend up in our house. A christmas bottle of port has already been replaced, as has a tub of celebrations and several chocolate oranges nobody else might have been aware that the chocolate oranges existed, oh dear

Glad you've slept and cold is abating Odd

Hope tomorrow goes well Waiting. I have a GP appt for 10am tomorrow and am wondering if I can be showered for 'that early'

I've had my daily walk shuffle followed by 90 minutes sleep. DP has just asked me to contribute to domestic chores by sorting socks from my position of comfort on the sofa whilst he irons and cooks the roast

LTB you should not be doing anything at all Xmas Grin

Waiting I went back for a day at 7 weeks and was back in bed on the codeine that evening. At 8 weeks I did 2 days and rested loads in the evenings. It was ok though I did need paracetamol the first evening. I'm doing 3 days this week and I'm expecting it to be fine.

I think your phased return sounds good - mornings rather than whole days should work well. Good luck.

Can't your GP come to you, tired? Mine came round to the house in week one and saw my lovely fluffy M &S pyjamas I bought specially for lounging around in (have now given them to DD as they are too hot for me)

Really!! Crikey. There was me wondering if the receptionist would let me have an appt even. I ran out of HRT just before op and requested more online (not allowed normally) but explained I was having op in two days... They've not given me any so I have to see the GP. Thought I'd wave my wound under his eyes at same time. Planning to discuss a pelvic toner as well. He'll wonder what I'm on!!

Beastofburden · 08/12/2013 21:59

Lol, mine came round partly as my blood pressure is high. Week 2 I went back and he offered to meet me in a ground floor room, bless him.

But quite often we will email and bypass receptionists altogether.

To be fair, two of my DC are disabled, one severely, so he knows us quite well. Once a year I go in and help train his medical students (the practice is part of the university where I work) about genetic disability and how to talk to parents. So there's a good relationship there.

Hope today goes well Waiting and you can rest when you get home

We haven't got tree up yet and I cannot get it out of the loft. DP is teasing DD about leaving it until Christmas Eve. I suspect tonight might be the night however.

How's the cold today King?

Loving the port and choc orange snafflng shew. I have been good this year. Some plain choc Brazil nuts but nothing else
Yet

Hope work goes well Letsface

Beast (I keep wanting to add of Bodmin ) you obviously have a special status. I'm hauling my carcass to the GP for 10 but... I have my jeans on!

They are coming off as soon as I get home Grin

V funny at special status... More I think like a family pet, a smelly old creature that keeps turning up and sitting in a basket under the desk :)

But seriously, I guess it is true that they know I have a lot of caring responsibilities and they try to help.

JEANS I am so impressed, my stomach was massive in week one still is I would never have got jeans on.

Just come off the phone with the doc. He says the only problem with keyhole surgery is people underestimate what's gone on internally and then they do too much.

What is this strange thing you speak of?
Leftover cadburys fruit an nut? I know not of such a thing...

Can I have a piece please?

TiredDog · 09/12/2013 13:00

Hmmm my GP said much the same. I was quite shocked. He doesn't think I should walk so much until week two. He did however say that women who 'push it' make a better recovery. He also was worried about DVT so wanted me to be mobile. I'm non the wiser about what I should be doing...

I asked him about toners and his face was a picture of confusion. He obviously knows nothing about them but told me not to spend too much money.

I'm googling. The cheap plastic one only appeals because of price. I fancy the electronic one that I can plug in and use whilst MNing Grin

Fruit and nut was from a girl guides sleepover. DD is a young leader and she brought it back with other leftovers.

Clearly the girls did not finish all their chocolate, young people today, no stamina, what is the country coming to, mutter mutter. However, it was only three squares, je regrette, Madame....

My GP told me I was "sailing through it" , I was quite tempted to list all the bravery and niggles when he said that, but I settled for him doubling my blood pressure dose to see if it will nuke the headaches....

Tirede the electronic plug and play ones were what I also wondered about but thought perhaps they don't work too well? Bt if you got one, we could compare notes?

shewhowines · 09/12/2013 14:57

Oh you're such a big meanie beast I'm crossing you off my christmas list and I agree, the yoof of today have no stamina! Xmas Smile

I'd say push yourself tired but listen to your body when it tells you to stop. I think I overdid it a few times, but generally I did a lot from the beginning. Lifting was a big no no though, and even now, I'm trying to be relatively careful. I do carry the washing basket and shopping bags but might do two trips instead of one. I try not to put lots of heavy things in each bag etc. Tbh I'm probably carrying too much, but you can't put your life on hold forever.

A week ago I was the sort of woman who never mentioned farting, did not fart in public and would not dream of signing up to an online discussion of my pelvic floor strength from inserting a probe to electrocute my internal muscles

How are we going to measure and compare Beast of Bodmin? (I can't really afford one but my brain is telling me I'm worth it and I'm tossing my pubic hair as I say so...so I must be)

Shew. That is kind of what I'd thought tbh. I have rested today because I felt battered last night. My trip to the GP and wearing jeans for 45 mins seemed like today's BIG challenge. Tomorrow I shall plan another walk. Someone bought me these. I have eaten all but two

W can measure, tired, because both use the same scale of strength so you can say, I am a mighty 6 while you, beast, remain a puny 3, ha ha.

These machines grade your squeeze, you get readings Hmm

I refuse to do a spreadsheet....
