I lost a stone in the 4 weeks before surgery and am determined not to put it back on! I have ordered meat for xmas over the phone from the butcher. Everything else can come from tesco express round the corner frankly!I discovered this in the snow a couple of years ago x
I have also discovered side effect of prescription codeine- sweating so that explains that!

TiredDog · 05/12/2013 06:08

Codeine causes constipation and nausea as well. I hope to avoid

Sipping my pre op gloop which tastes like a lemon juice and paracetamol cocktail. Yum

thekingfisher · 05/12/2013 08:03

shewhowines · 05/12/2013 08:06

thekingfisher · 05/12/2013 17:25

TiredDog · 05/12/2013 17:42

I am pondering candy crush as so many rave over it

I'm home :) Op went well. Bit of shoulder and abdo pain but not unbearable.

Work emailed me 1hr ago to discuss my return to work FFS Angry. It took all my self control to not just reply FFS. No..how are you or hope it went well ... Bastards

thekingfisher · 05/12/2013 17:51

Wow can't believe you are home already and great you are feeling ok. Remember though don't go. Mental... Give yourself a breather and tell Winkwork to go jump!

Cremolafoam · 05/12/2013 18:12

King get Audible. You can have nice books read to you while you snooze .
Its £7.99 per month but you can cancel it when you like. Usually audiobooks cost £20 for long ones.Grin
I am having eBay trauma. On another thread zxxx

TiredDog · 05/12/2013 18:35

The one thing I have noticed is people coming out of op optimistic and then taking a downturn so I'm being cautious.

Don't think the hosp have done many day surgeries although they planned it this way but seemed surprised it went well! I might be wrong but got that feeling.

Bladder working Grin

I'll go and search crem

shewhowines · 05/12/2013 20:31

Bloody hell, what are you doing home so soon?

Did they really do it as day surgery? I can't get over that. And feeling so well?

That makes the rest of us seem like moaning frauds Grin

Yes to staying cautious for a while, but long may you continue to do so well.

TiredDog · 05/12/2013 21:00

Yes! It was always planned as day surgery with an open offer to stay over. Consultant specialises in it and says research shows mostly oral analgesia used overnight. He did say I might be sent home with a flip flop catheter but I woke without one although they did put one in during op. I was on advanced recovery programme. I do also have DP here looking after me superbly.

I hope my lucky care doesn't make you feel a fraud. I really do. It's day 1. and I'm hobbling, nauseous and looking forward to cocodamol at bedtime! It was also laparoscopic of a normal non complicated (by pathology) uterus :)

Tomorrow I may feel shit!

Cremolafoam · 05/12/2013 21:27

Tired dog -wow !
Hope you continue to feel good and get a loverly rest tonight Smile

LetsFaceTheMusicAndDance · 06/12/2013 06:12

Tired hope you're feeling fiine today. My word that was quick!

So are we all done now?

Waitingaround · 06/12/2013 06:24

Wow tired dog amazing!!

TiredDog · 06/12/2013 08:00

I thought there was someone after me??

Not a great night but not terrible either. Up to pee every couple of hours. No pain relief and quite uncomfortable by 7am. I have not passed wind (tmi) yet and can feel a lot of painful peristalsing going on in there

DP is just being lovely and attentive. Having had ops previously where I came back to family life and a less than helpful exH I know this is making an enormous difference to me

TiredDog · 06/12/2013 08:02

I'm so glad I haven't got the skin and muscle wounds. Just feeling all the internal pulling and pain is enough!
